I ordered the KitchenAid 13 cup food processor in December 2022, after my old machine finally broke. I was a little bit worried because my previous machine that broke was only 6 cups. But the kitchenaid is very nice and doesn’t take up as much space as I thought. The buttons are very solid. I was use to my old 1980s machine only had two blades so this does take a bit of getting used to because there are definitely more attachments. But it works fantastically and washed up great in my dishwasher. I like the self storing aspect of all the blades and other items - I need to get much quicker at reassembling everything! All in all it’s a really nice machine and I am pleased with the purchase. There were several features with that I was pleasantly surprised about, ... My only negative is that when you close the lid it makes kind of a clicking sound, which sounds like it’s gonna break. But it doesn’t.I made a smoked salmon dip/spread in there and the machine worked beautifully!Btw, Crate and Barrel was extremely fast at getting it shipped out. I really liked all the notices and great communication from them. It was my first time ordering something from crate and barrel. I would definitely do it again.

I bought this in 2022 from QVC and really do love it. I just wish that it was wider rather than taller. It doesn’t fit under the cabinets very well. Those folks having issues with the latch breaking are probably forcing the latch. If the latch doesn’t catch easily then you most likely do not have the unit put together correctly. I blame KA for this issue because they assume that all folks are able to read mechanical pictures but most folks aren’t able to read mechanical illustrations. I really like how all the items fit into the rack then the rack goes into the unit. KA should probably just make a storage box for the items so that folks aren’t having to force the latch. Please in the future consider making this unit less tall.I also really like that the processor ... MoreI bought this in 2022 from QVC and really do love it. I received this as a Xmas gift after wanting/needing to replace my Cuisinart FP that I had had for years. I was so excited to receive the 13 cup KA. However, upon first use I’m not sure I like it. The storage thing with all the parts is a good idea to keep everything tidy, but I feel like I’m missing something when putting the pieces together for basic food processing. It took 3 separate parts just to get ready to use it. The blade is sitting so high off the bottom of the bowl how will it ever get ingredients down in the bowl mixed? What am I doing wrong? Also putting the blade in-be careful this thing is razor sharp. I sliced my finger. I’m a seasoned cook and very comfortable in the kitchen and using gadgets. This feels cheaply made, cumbersome to use and I’m not ... MoreI received this as a Xmas gift after wanting/needing to replace my Cuisinart FP that I had had for years. I was tossing up between the Breville Paradice 9 and the KitchenAid 13 cup food processor. On paper the breville seemed like a better machine, with a more powerful motor, but I ended up going with the kitchenaid for a few reasons.- it’s so easy to store. I needed something that was easy to pull out from cupboards a few times a week, and the in-bowl caddy makes this a breeze- It’s easy to use. I didn’t think I’d love the no-twist bowl and lid feature as much as I do- It’s easy to clean. The water tight seal means I can fill it up with water and detergent and let it pulse until it’s clean. Or the whole thing comes apart and fits nicely in the dishwasher. The no-twist design makes cleaning up so much easierA couple of things I don’t like:- if I make a sticky ... Or the whole thing comes apart and fits nicely in the dishwasher. The no-twist design makes cleaning up so much easierA couple of things I don’t like:- if I make a sticky batter the self-clean function isn’t be enough - I need to manually scrub then put in the dishwasher- Using the widest chute can be frustrating. The machine will only run if the pusher is inserted and it needs to be inserted over halfway. This means while food can be as wide as the chute (14cm) it can only be a maximum of about 5cm thick. So I can’t process half a cabbage in one go - I need to slice it into about 4 pieces. It’s not a huge deal, but it does feel like a design oversightA couple of things I was worried about before purchasing:- the single size dice. The dicing function works well on everything I’ve put through (soft veg like onion and harder veg like potato). I was worried the 12mm dice would be an annoying size - too small for roast veg but too large for mirepoix. It’s actually great. It’s a good size for dicing veg to add to curry, soups, or stews. It’s a little smaller than I’m used to for roast veg, but still works. It’s a good size for diced onions that are going to be sweated down and if I need anything finer I just blitz it- No julienne blade. This hasn’t been an issue because the large grating blade makes a decent julienne. It’s just slightly finer than the julienned carrots you can buy in a bag from Woolworths- Lower power motor. Again, hasn’t been an issue. I’ve had 30 minutes of continuous vegetable prep followed by making a stiff pasta dough in the bowl and it didn’t skip a beat- Single bowl size. The bowl size is a bit over 3L, which is big enough for all sorts of veg prep. My concern was making small batches of salad dressing or dicing a couple of garlic cloves. It’s hasn’t been too much of an issue but I do find I need to make larger batches in order for the food to be caught by the blade. I’ve found the fewest number of garlic cloves it will reliably dice is 8, and the smallest volume of salad dressing is about half a cupOverall a great machine and I’d buy it again in a heartbeat. Would love to see a mini bowl attachment in future.
Looks great, easy to use, reasonably easy to clean. I use it a few times a week. Certainly easier to use than the (other brand) behemoth it replaced. On the whole I think it's a great product. As some hve mentioned it would be nice if it was a metal body, like most Kitchenaid products, but that being said it's well made an robust. My only 2 real issues are the dice and the mix achieved with the multi-purpose blade. The dicer is actually the main reason I liked the look of the processor, but the dice is very large. If you're looking to do a sofrito or similar then the dice is way too large, and large bits tend to get stuck in the dicing unit. This means you have to stop periodically to unblock it.With the multi-purpose blade I found that food doesn't naturally ... MoreLooks great, easy to use, reasonably easy to clean. I found I need to get a spatula and pull some things in from the side of the bowl to get an even mix happening. All in all I think it's a good product, and do not regret my purchase one bit. If I can get a whish attachment in the future like in the 9 cup, I'll be a happy man! (Hint hint)
We had an old processor that had been given to us for our wedding 20 years ago. So I was pretty keen to get the right replacement.I did lots of research and this one was in my final list, and then approved by my wife!It took us a while to get our heads around the vast number of attachments and add ons.But it works well. Chopping is the main reason we use, and all of the chopping functions work well. Mixer for my bliss balls recipe was faultless. The vast array of attachments fit into a very compact set up which fits in the unit. THis makes a minimal footprint in a crowded kitchen! We took a while to work it out, at least until I noticed the very easy-to-follow pic on the side of the unit, which showed the order of everything. Our old processor has a dial to ... However, I also noted that this was now the standard. The best bit about it is that it looks very sexy!Good price too. Right in the sweet spot for us.The only thing to check now is longevity...
Bought this to replace my 2007 Artisan model because the main centre blade column had split. Initially I was nervous that this was plastic and maybe a bit flimsy compared to my metal model. I’m happy to report that it is sturdy and great quality. The new design features have addressed my previous operational frustrations and the blade column is now attached to the bowl and not the machine which will also make replacement a lot cheaper if this was to happen again, just replacing the bowl and not the entire machine. Being able to place all accessories into the unit for great storage and quick access is A+ and has given me back cupboard space previously occupied by the attachments of the former model. I’ve had this processor now for a few weeks so feel I can comment of my thoughts.I also have another well-known brand but bought this model because of the dicer kit, it was something I really wanted. I haven’t gone near the other one since getting this. For some reason it feels quicker and easier to use and I love how everything fits in the bowl.I like how you don’t twist the bowl it just slots straight on as does the lid. I haven’t used the black lid yet (to store things you’ve made in the bowl in the fridge until needed) but think it’s a brilliant idea.It slices, grates and dices just like I was hoping. Would only need the middle part of the dicer kit that contains the cutter grill (fits inside the other 2 parts). Would love that.If you are on the fence, look at videos of it in action, there are lots out there, especially from the US to see if it’s what you are looking for. I’m very happy with my purchase.
I researched, watched and read many reviews before committing to my purchase and I would be lying if I said I didn’t have doubts. I opted for the 13 cup because of the volume. The additional features and attachments were second priority for me. To summarize it simply, I’m not disappointed with the product. The versatility, speed, weight and overall quality is worth the purchase. I believe this machine will be a staple in my kitchen for a long time to come.If you’re reading the reviews and wondering whether to buy, definitely buy it.Surprisingly, the matte black is easy to clean and keep stains and fingerprints at bay.Overall, this is a winner!
As a busy working mum of multiple toddlers, I was cutting into my free time (no pun intended), by meal prepping hours before the kids got home, chopping dicing mincing everything by hand. I came across some great videos of this food processor and immediately looked into getting one. Not only is it a beautiful item on my bench but it has saved me so much time with meal preps and opened my cooking up to a whole different variety of dishes! Even makes beautiful dough for my cinnamon scrolls. I started mincing my own meat for burgers with it and making beautiful salads, and stopped buying pre shredded cheese! I absolutely love my 13 cup KA food processor!!!
