A real whizz in the kitchen

Purchased this a few weeks ago to replace another brand which literally fell apart within 18 months and to match my KitchenAid mixer. So pleased I did as it includes all the accessories I'll ever need. Although part of the base is metal, it is reasonably light, so can be moved around easily. The base unit has rubber feet, so it will not damage your counter top.And it is so easy to store as all the accessories fit in a caddy which stores in the processing bowl. A particularly good feature is the way the bowl fits onto the base - a simple click so no more twisting and turning to try and get the bowl in place. Similarly with the lid which also clicks onto the bowl. It comes with a leak-proof lid, so you can give a dirty bowl a quick blitz with warm soapy water to clean ... MorePurchased this a few weeks ago to replace another brand which literally fell apart within 18 months and to match my KitchenAid mixer. Similarly with the lid which also clicks onto the bowl. It comes with a leak-proof lid, so you can give a dirty bowl a quick blitz with warm soapy water to clean it. The bowl and all accessories are dishwasher safe as well. 2 speeds and a pulse button is all you'll ever need to make quick work of all those tedious mixing, cutting and chopping jobs in the kitchen.Whilst it has only 2 main disks (coarse and fine shredding and slicing) the ingenious thickness lever on the lid means you can slice up to 7 thicknesses and it works very well. The dicing kit with its clean-out tool is also very handy and again works very well with firm fruit and vegetables with clean-out tool making quick work of any food left behind on the disk. Because the lid opens easily - no need to unscrew it - it's easy to scrape down the sides of the bowl if needed. As this processor is so easy to use and has a large bowl, I'm using it much more than my previous one. I've also found that nuts and vegetables came out uniformly chopped and did not turn to powder or mush. The unit is quit high, so although you can probably store it on the kitchen bench, but you'll need to store the base and bowl separately in the cupboard. As with all kitchen equipment there are a few nooks and crannies likely to collect food scraps (eg. underside of the disks and around the blades), so it pays to be vigilant, especially if hand washing the items. This was an excellent choice for me, given its clever design, ease of use and good looks. Once again KitchenAid has come up trumps!

Bought this about a month ago, and really enjoying using it. It's a huge step up from my old processor, which was a behemoth of a machine with accessory storage that took up an entire kitchen drawer by itself. This is compact, and powerful enough for MOST of what I want to do with it. I only have a couple of gripes. Firstly, dicing. The dice is large and isn't capable of producing a dice small enough for anything like a sofrito, so I'm still having to dice by hand for a lot of recipes. Also, as another reviewer mentioned, carrots and harder veg tend to get stuck on the top of the dicer, so while most goes through, a lot doesn't. Cue more hand dicing of the stuck bits. The other things would be being able to get a whisk attachment for it like in the 9 cup version. ... MoreBought this about a month ago, and really enjoying using it. If I can get a whish attachment in the future like in the 9 cup, I'll be a happy man! (Hint hint)

Brilliant design but not perfect

I've always had a Cuisinart food processor, but recently got fed up when oil came shooting out of the bowl when I was trying to make toum. I was casually looking to replace it and came across this model. This thing is so well-designed that all the parts/attachments fit inside the bowl for storage. Because of this, the footprint is similar (despite an extra cup of bowl capacity), but I can get rid of the basket I bought to hold accessories for the old machine. Great news since I have limited storage space! But what sold it was the lid, which hinges up, and latches in the closed position. I was in love! The first thing I noticed is that it's lighter than my Cuisinart. Good, right? Yes, and no. The attachments seem very flimsy in comparison, and when the machine is running, I have the urge to hold it in place by the lid like I do my blender. So far I've made hummus and pizza dough, and the machine did well with both. I was kind of surprised when there was flour left in the bowl once the dough formed a ball, but it ended up not being a big deal, because I incorporated the flour during kneading.I haven't used any of the slicing or shredding attachments, but I love that you can adjust the thickness of the slices.

Cheap plastic broke within 10/15 times of using
16 December 2022

After using for probably about the 10th time since owning it, when I began to pulse the ingredients together a loud grinding sound happened and the blade wouldn’t turn, I had ingredients in the mixer, but took out the blade and replaced it back in and it then blended as normal while I added a few more ingredients, then when I emptied the dough and repeated the recipe, the 13cup bowl attachment would not snap back into place. After troubleshooting I saw the bottom plastic piece that connects to the base was cracked keeping it from connecting to the base. I then hand mixed my next double batch of cookies in the bowl without the blade attachment inside. Then I noticed when washing the bowl, that there was scratching of the plastic bowl from the blade and shards of sharp plastic sticking up and loose. I’m so sad that this food processor broke so early on with little use. And especially sad about the four dozen Christmas cookies I threw away because of potential sharp plastic shards in them ): I bake daily at work with a cuisinart 14cup processor multiple times a shift that is 20 years old and is showing no signs of stopping. I wish I would have not gone with kitchen aid.

Easy to use, efficient and compact

Bought this food processor to replace another brand and chose Kitchenaid as I've been really happy with the mixer I have. I also like how all the attachments stack inside, as it takes up less space.Initially I thought it was quite small, but the capacity is actually great. Big enough for everything I use it for.Mincing steak is really quick, and gets the steak to a fine grind consistently through the mix, great for quick and easy burgers.Have also used it for muffin mix and oat balls.Looking forward to using it for lots of other stuff. It's also really easy to clean. Very happy with the purchase.

Great design and features
6 October 2022

I bought this 9qt food processor almost a month ago and I’m excited to use it daily. I already own the exact slice food processor attachment with blade kit but wanted something with a bowl for smaller tasks. The Kitchenaid 9 cup has great features and the color matches my Professional 6 stand mixer. I can mix and knead a two pound loaf of bread in less time than it takes my stand mixer and clean up is a breeze. It’s not overly noisy and feels well made. The ingredient bowl is large and accommodates enough ingredients for 4+ family members. I wish Kitchenaid would update their website with additional blades, but, I have my exact slice attachment that I can use in the mean time.

I have been needing a food processor for a long time + already a huge fan of KitchenAid. I received this product for free in return for my honest opinion. I don't have the luxury of owning my own home but rather rent, so space saving is key! I love that all attachments fit within the bowl itself. Plus, having a lid so as to conveniently store vs making another dish dirty. Truthfully this was an amazing product to review; I made fluffy scrambled eggs, guacamole, hummus, chopped kale, shredded cheese and even made deviled eggs. One day after a long shift and class I insert plunger wrong causing it to get stuck; there was mild resistance and in my state of mind it didn't dawn on me. I ended up breaking the plunger --- however, this allowed me to experience the amazing customer service at Kitchenaid!! I sent a message to their support and withing a few weeks had a free replacement. So my mistake did help me in experiencing their customer satisfaction promise!Overall, I'd definitely buy this and will recommend to friends on the facts it is a space saving convenience with outstanding customer support.

I have had this product for a month or 2. T the moment, the blade is nice and sharp where it needs to be. Ans it does its job so far. But it's a but fiddly to use. The machine won't start unless all the parts are in the correct spot. I suppose it's a good safety mechanism. But I didn't know it at first and thought it was a broken machine. Very frustrating. The cable is also very short. I practicly have to put the machine right next to the PowerPoint.Another down side is that you can't use it for a long period. Maybe 2 mins max before you have to let it cool down.Though all the parts can be stacked away nicely, I hate that when I do need to use the machine, all the un-used parts/blades are not stackable on top of each other.
