Knipex 86 03 250 Sba Pliers Wrench

I really love Knipex tools but I have to say that these were not as useful to me as an electrician than for a plumber or other trades that work with pipe over 1 “. They are big around the head area and difficult to handle opening and closing with one hand ( I use size L gloves) from a ladder. They’d probably do great working on the floor. I’m going to try the 6” and see if they are better because I like the design. They just were a bit oversized for my liking.

Awesome tool just got them 2 days ago. You can adjust to the size of the jaw on compressions using the printed numbers on the tool itself the 22 mark wouldn't be for a 22 nut but once you remember the corresponding number you don't even need to put it on the nut to get the size right as it closes a little when you squeeze the lever, saves a little time. I think i use 22 for a half-inch nut but don't quote me lol You can perform close to a ratcheting action to tighten those radiator tails and compression nuts by loosening your grip and allowing the jaws to slip over the nuts edge to the next flat surface and squeeze again. It's easy to overtighten compression joints with this tool so some care is needed. May not get under all boilers to loosen flow and return nuts ... MoreAwesome tool just got them 2 days ago. I don't normally do reviews but I had to say something for my fellow engineers. I always look for a plumbers review when buying tools. You know what, I'm in a good mood now I may write some more reviews about other products, just the good stuff though lol.

Didn't know I needed it until I used it a couple of times

I admit it, I bought this wrench out of curiosity, not out of need. Now I have used it a couple of times and have found that it works very well for some of my purposes. What it is good for - This wrench works well on bolts/nuts that have some space around them. I have used in on my bicycle, for example. It is able to grip the bolt/nut securely and does not leave teeth marks. It saves me having to gather 4 or 5 different size wrenches for projects involving different sizes of bolts/nuts and it saves me from dealing with the whole metric vs. SAE when deciding which wrench to use. What it is not good for - Rounded out bolts/nuts, it is difficult to get a grip on them with this wrench. Great Tool

These work fantastic for an adjustable wrench. Unlike the adjustable wrenches were accustom to like a Cresent style wrench, that seem to slip off when you need to bare down. This tool will hold tight when using because they are used like pliers and the smooth/parallel operating jaws keep the same shape of the Cresent style wrench. They have a lot of leverage when pinching. This tool will remove larger nuts and bolts than an a Cresent wrench of this size. It definitely has the Knipex quality! I l love the narrow jaws to get into skinny places this larger tool. The one thing to remember, you do have to use this tool like Pliers which is not a problem in most uses, compared to an adjustable Cresent wrench that is set and used like a common wrench. Gotta love it.

Nothing i didn't like, everything i loved. I have used these ever since i got them and can't believe how many times these pliers came to the rescue. Just the other day i had to hold a nut in a hard to get to area. The wrenches didn't work, sockets didn't work and with this wrench i was able to hold it tight and had zero slippage. I had an off size (metric and sae wrench didn't fit right) tie rod that i had to hold and this wrench came to the rescue. I had about 6 different nuts (all different sizes) on a Oxy Acetylene set that i needed to check for tightness. Instead of grabbing 6 different wrenches this one pair of Pliers worked perfectly with no slippage. They don't leave marring on the nuts or bolts either. love em.

I'd heard good things about these and was excited to try them out. They absolutely live up to the hype. They perform most of the same tasks you'd use an adjustable wrench for but they don't round off bolts when you're applying a lot of torque, they don't mar the finish, and they can often "ratchet" similar to channel locks.A third thing that I've found them useful for is crimping things. They have massive mechanical advantage and they squeeze much harder than most pliers. When I'm sweating vertical runs of copper and it's advantageous to slightly deform a fitting so that it won't simply fall out of the pipe it's hanging off, you just give these a gentle squeeze and it's perfect. And that mechanical advantage is part of the reason it doesn't round off bolt heads (the other being that the jaws stay parallel due to the design).But... the mechanical advantage comes at a cost: for a lot of motion in the handles, the plier head doesn't close very much. This means you have to set it very close to the actual size of the bolt you're working with. You don't get as much room for sloppy adjustment as you do with other tools like channel locks. And that can be a bit of a pain while you're getting used to these and have to adjust them a few times before you get it right. At this point it's pretty painless and natural for me but I remember that being annoying at the time.

I now understand why some people swear to buy one and never look back. The story that brought me to this purchase starts with needing a 28mm wrench for nut on a gas regulator. Searched around and found out that Home Depot had no wrench that size in any store in my area. So I searched the internet and found that it might cost $20 for one wrench. Mindful that this wrench is only needed once in awhile to change gas cylinders I opted for the versatile Knipex Pliers wrench. Could not be happier with my choice. Previous to this purchase I bought and have in use two Cobra pliers and love them also. One pair is the 10" slim profile Cobra Plier and the other is the normal 12" pair. They are unique in that they combine adjustable spanners with the ease and flexibility of adjustable pliers. The jaws themselves are perfectly smooth and flat, as per a standard open ended spanner and lock on well to nuts.The handles are covered with a standard thin rubbery-plastic which still feels comfortable to hold and easy to use the tool. The Knipex 8603250, I just bought, (Made in Germany) (the one with the red handle) is a beautifully engineered tool with superior quality and easy to use pliers. It does an excellent job to assemble and remove hexagonal bolts and nuts (parallel jaws, wide range of sizes, easy to adjust in one tool etc.). And that is what it does-as advertised-and nothing else for $50. I am very pleased with it and recommend it to any one. For $20, on the other-hands, the made in America CHANNEL-LOCK (the one with the sky-blue handle) (I have one for the last 20 years) is a beautifully designed and innovating 2-piece work of art and ingenuity, rugged to the extreme. It can also grab smooth tubing (granted while marring its surfaces). It also make very a very effective, long lasting and versatile nut cracker in the fall during nut season (friends an family look at it curiously when they see it on top of the nut bowl but quickly got the idea). And yes, it can also be used as make-shift mini wise by sticking the larger handle in a hole in a piece of wood and holding the work by quizzing the 2 handles with few rubber bands.

Best pliers ever. No stripping of nuts.I have had a pair of them since 2018. They went to h-e-l-l and back and you would not know it.I misplaced my first set 6 month ago. Bought these. 2 weeks later I found that original ones. Now I have 2. If in doubt. But them. They are worth every penny.FYI: G O A T. greatest of all time.Fyi: You can not use normal language without adding dashes because Canadian tiers sensitive Meter goes into over drive!!! Well done.
