La Roche-Posay Effaclar H Cleansing Cream 200 ml

One wash with this doesn’t feel like it’s cleaned my skin well enough, but when I cleanse a second time… my skin is left dry and rough. To get a medium, I mix it with the Cerave Salicylic Wash to blunt the effects of that wash and mix in hydration and a creamy texture. I’m not sure if I would repurchase this again. I may go for the Cetaphil cleanser which is sold at costco for 2 big bottles ($20).

AMAZING FOR ACNE TREATMENT

I bought this from recommendations from friends. I had been on the acne treatment Roaccutane (Isotretinoin) for months and was constantly been told to use another brand of skincare which was actually making me break out until month 6 I switched to LRP and honestly it did my skin wonders. It took me so so long to research what to use while on this medication as some may know, is it not an easy drug to take. But this makes it all worth it. It’s so gentle on the skin however it keeps the horrid dryness side effects at bay. I used this alongside Khiels ultra facial cream and it worked like an absolute dream.

Amazing cleanser!!

I bought this last week as I have started a long course of antibiotics and a retinoid (Adapalene) for stubborn acne. I have always have combination skin on the more oily side, but since I started the new medication my skin has completely dried out. This worried me when looking into products as my skin is naturally oily and dehydrated, and this product says for dry skin. I’m so glad I got this because it’s balanced my skin and really helped! Don’t be put off if you have oily or combo skin!! I did a lot of research into the best products to use while treating my acne as the original products I was using irritated my new skin type and caused a burning sensation. BRING THIS BACK!! THE NEW ONE IS AWFUL!!!

WHY HAS THIS BEEN CHANGED? The new product that doesn't actually say you've changed the ingredients is awful. Its left me with dry flakey itchy skin all over my face. Ive worked so hard on getting the perfect balance of products to help my acne prone SUPER SENSITIVE and allergy prone skin and then your new wash ruins it. My skin feels like sandpaper and has now started to break out. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE bring back the original product? I literally used the new packaged (updated ingredient) version of this one ONCE and immediately felt my skin freak out, washed it off with the remains of my old bottle quick and still its been a week and my skin is still flaking. Probably the worst product you sell now. :(

Fantastic for dry acne prone skin

I've suffered with acne for 13 years and have tried every product under the sun. I'm currently using a strong antibiotic solution prescribed by my GP that really dries out my skin. I use this cleanser to remove my makeup at night and first thing in the morning, at first I thought it might aggravate my skin as it has a slightly perfumed smell. I was wrong, this product is absolutely fantastic. Its very soft on the skin, hydrating and removes makeup. For the first time in years my skin feels balanced. I would highly recommend this to anyone undergoing acne treatment, I just wish I had known about this years ago and saved myself a fortune on expensive products that made false promises or irritated my skin. When I first used this cleanser I loved it. When you first apply it it’s so hydrating.. however when waking up the following morning from a night cleanse after using this cleanser my skin is so dry (I have oily skin and any other cleanser I wake up with oily skin) I bought this because I wanted something hydrating that was safe on oily skin without the risk of my pores clogging. I was so confused why I was waking up so dry when applying this I am so hydrated. Then I realised it has LHA in which is a gentle exfoliator. Great if you are having acne treatment!

I am 18 and have had severe acne from the age of 12. I have had many rounds of antibiotics (with some working and other making no difference) before now being referred to a Dermatolgist and receiving a further antibiotic treatment and epiduo cream. I’ve had the dermatologist treatment similar to this before but had to stop because of the burning on my skin. My dermatologist told me to have a non-cameodegenic and soap free cleanser. It was far harder to find a suitable cleanser than I thought! But this has been a life saver!! It’s so soothing on my skin which is so sensitive from the treatment, and any other product I’ve tried gives a burning feeling. My skin feels so smooth ... My spots have reduced in size dramatically but of course this could also be due to the treatment too. I will definitely be repurchasing, but also trying out more of the la Roche posay range, because I finally feel like I’ve found something that works! For the amount of product you use I would say it is also a reasonable price to pay for great skin!I also burnt my face badly recently, but this was brilliant at soothing and helping it recover. I’ve also since bought the la Roche posay suncream. You can’t go wrong with this brand if you have severe acne!

New packaging, new scent but still works!

The packaging has changed on this product so it's no longer the pump bottle. I was a bit worried after reading some of the reviews about this as I loved the product and it had been great for my skin! After using the new formula for a few weeks now there's a couple of pro's and cons:PROS:My skin hasn't changed, it still works exactly the same!I actually prefer the new packaging too.CONS:I'm not keen on the smell, the old formula didn't really smell of anything but this definitely has a 'scent'.It produces a bit of a foamy lather (so appears less 'creamy' if that makes sense) I immediately thought this would dry my skin out but it didn't.Overall, I am happy with the product, it still does what I need it to do for my skin (combination with the odd spot ... MoreThe packaging has changed on this product so it's no longer the pump bottle. I LOVE this cleanser, and when I say I love a skin care product that is a lot coming from me (they never work for me)!! Little background - I am in my 30's now and have had problematic skin FOREVER, like seriously for as long as I can remember. My skin is combo/oily. I have tried almost every high end, drug store cleanser you can think of, even some of the other Effaclar cleansers but never found the perfect balance in a cleanser that will clean enough but not strip your skin. This cleanser seems to keep my skin calm and soft and I use it twice a day. In the evening I use the oat cleansing balm by inky. I didn't notice changes over night but after using it for about 6 months now I am noticing such nice changes in my skin. The only cleanser that works for me

I've been using this cleanser for about 4 years now, during which I have been on and off various birth control. Obviously, with changing hormones I've experienced changes in my skin, from spots to very dry skin but I've found that sticking with this cleanser has been the only thing that has worked for me. I have naturally dry skin and this cleanser is the only one that doesn't make me feel like I've got wrinkles all over my face when I use it. It gets rid of the dry skin and my skin always feels fresh and exfoliated after using it (but not dry) so my moisturiser goes on perfectly and is able to sink right into my skin. Couldn't recommend enough for those with dry skin!
