Mac Stack Mascara - Mega - 12 ml

Got this through Influenster and used it quite often the past few weeks. I have stick straight lashes that very difficult to keep curled. The brush is a silicone spiky kind of brush so it distributes product heavily, so I found that a light hand was needed to apply, otherwise this got clumpy fast. The mascara is super black which I enjoy, but it couldn't hold my curl whatsoever. I kind of watched my curled lashes deflate as I applied them. with a lighter hand, my lashes were lengthened and volumized so that was really nice. I found that this did smudge after a few hours of wear, even with a eyelid primer, setting spray, and powder. I do have greasier eyelids so waterproof would have been better for me. If you have dry to normal lids and lashes that are already curled, this will probably work for you. Unfortunately, as much as I wanted to love it, this didn't work for me.

Thank you to #Sephora #Influenster and #MAC for this Mascara to review - I was excited to try it (am currently using MAC False Lashes Extreme Black which I love for a dramatic look! and doesn’t clump, which is a personal pet peeve). I had high hopes for this stackable and I would say it’s a mid level mascara for performance. It’s a clean application and felt like it gave me a good medium look for day (not so light I would use it for a day “no makeup” makeup look) but definitely helped highlight and frame my eyes well! I would definitely “stack” for a more dramatic/intense evening look. I have longer lashes so tend to go for mascaras that will add more volume - I did appreciate both those elements from this. BAM!!! LOVE IT!!!!

I have worn Lancome since 1/84. I've always loved make up and perfume ( and jewelry, of course,) more than clothes bags , etc However, I've been dipping my toes into other brands as I've reached my senior years, namely Mac, and I've not been disappointed. My lashes have always been long, but not full. They sometimes even touch my glasses. They will not curl at all...never have. The most I can hope for is that they will at least be noticeable and "flip up" a bit.For this reason, I've ALWAYS worn waterproof mascara.I find waterproof holds my lashes better and longer. Iwas stunned!!! I didnt want to put too much on as I wasn't going to do anything today. A tip I do is to wrap a piece of tissue around my forefinger and and place my finger under my lashes for several seconds.You would be surprised what a difference this makes. AND... this mascara has holding power. I put the mascara on at 5am and my lashes still were "holding up" at 10am. And this isn't even waterproof mascara!! Still, it would be EVEN BETTERi if Mac made it in a waterproof formula, especially with summertime/beach weather arriving!! Mac...GREAT JOB....from a mascara aficionado!!!!!

So here we have another "What I received complimentary from @influensterca and @maccosmeticscanada in exchange for my honest review!" Which, as we all know, I love. This was a pretty easy one to test out, because it's one of the only makeups that a busy mom has time for typically. I have to say, it's small enough that you feel you *could* finish it in that small wearing window, by wearing it every single day. What is it, 3 months? 6 months? Unsure. Regardless, we all know that you're going to be keeping this one in the purse, because of it's compact size. The brush is nice and --- what I like to call -- aggressive. A good makeup remover will go a long way, as this is pretty tenacious! All in all, would definitely purchase again just because of the brush (although, it could be a bit skinner and easier to manage at the top end @maccosmeticscanada, hint hint.) Everyone was asking if I was wearing fake lashes!

This Mascara made me look like I was wearing fake lashes, I work in a cosmetics boutique and was asked multiple times what fake lashes I was wearing. This Mascara is very buildible and gives you nice long full lashes. I have quite decent sizes lashes so it really pulled out the length and just made them look amazing!! I will say this formula is kinda clumpy? If you just do like 3 fast strokes it's great, but to really get that insane length you have to do a couple layers and then take a spooly threw them after to kinda separate the lashes? I think it does such a bangup job that I wouldn't even mind doing this second step. As for the waterproof side of things I was really impressed, due to having quite long lashes every Mascara I buy tends to transfer below my eyebrows this Mascara however once its dry zero transfer!! It's a little harder to get off too... I needed to use like a balm oil to reallt break it down. I have only used this Mascara for about a week so far so I can speak for the formula drying out but so far it seems to be holding up great!! I like the bottle design and how it's compact and not tall and bulky like other Mascara designs. Overall if you have medium to long lashes and you're willing to do that extra spooly look to get the fake lash look 10/10 worth it! If you like that kinda dramatic thick Mascara look 10/10 worth it!! If you're not gonna do the extra spooly step or hate the more dramatic thick Mascara look, I would say to pass on this one. Overall I like this Mascara a lot! So nice to have a fake lash look without having fake lashes!! I wish it didn't get so clumpy but it is a buildable Mascara so that's kinda to be expected, I would buy this for sure.

Great Results

I don’t know why so many people don’t like this mascara! I have used every brand that QVC has offered in the past 20 years, not to mention all the other shopping channels. I am 67 years old, and when I find a mascara that I am satisfied with I stick with it. Unfortunately, after just a short time they stop making it and it’s no longer available. So, it’s time to go on the hunt again for a new mascara. I was on the hunt when I discovered this mascara. I was very pleased with it. I honestly do not know why there are so many negative reviews. I believe a lot of folks are looking for the perfect mascara that would give them the look of fake lashes. That’s not going happen!! I’m very satisfied with this mascara. At my current age of 67, my lashes are so sparse, they are truly invisible. If, I can visually see my lashes after only 1 application, then it’s a keeper. I not only could see my lashes after 1 application, but they were thicker and had a slight curl to them. After the 2nd application I knew I had found a replacement for my old mascara. It is a bit pricey, but what currently isn’t? I would much rather pay a few dollars extra and be VERY satisfied then pay a lower price and be disappointed. This mascara is a keeper, until they stop making it.

New MAC Mascara

I tested this mascara and here are my thoughts. Immediately, wow! I have naturally long eye lashes and this product made them stand out beautifully! I found that this mascara primarily lengthens, but if you wait a second to let the formula dry a little bit, you can go over them again with a second layer that will add the volume too. I never review products, but I had to express how much I HATED this mascara. Given all the positive reviews, I had high hopes that this would be a great all rounder that would lengthen and separate with one coat for a nice, subtle everyday look, but could also be built up for a more dramatic look. Even after only one coat, this mascara was SO clumpy – literally the opposite of what it promises. The only way I could make this wearable was by scraping off the bulk of the product from the brush before applying. But even doing this and using a tonne of powder under my eyes, I couldn’t prevent this from smudging and transferring under my eyes after about 30 minutes of wear, which isn’t something I usually have an issue with. love the micro!

I had medically induced hair loss a little over a year ago so I've been regrowing all of my hair including my eyelashes. At this point my eyelashes aren't as long as I would like, so I've also been keeping an eye out for mascaras like this that claim to lengthen your eyelashes. I am a big MAC fan, my other OG mascara is their 3D one, so I do like to try when they come out with a new product, especially a mascara in my current situation. I was able to buy the mega in the mini size, and get a sample of the micro. While I like both, I find that the mega brush is a little hard to work with when you don't have beautiful long eyelashes. I find the micro to be a lot easier, especially on first coat, to keep my eyelashes separated. Overall I love the mascara, but when I purchase the full size I think I'm only going to buy the micro.
