It’s like a sweet candy fragrance that I wish I could wear… It doesn’t linger though, so you won’t be smelling it all day. It applies very nicely, giving your face a silky feel to it. Now onto the performance,… I’m not entirely sure why this primer was so inconsistent for me. I used this under both powder and liquid foundation at various times, and it performed much better under liquid than powder,… But it still wasn’t my favorite. This primer made my face so ridiculously oily every single time I wore it (it was much worse under the powder foundation, it made my makeup look super cakey and awful). After finishing applying all of my products, my face would look good with a slightly dewy finish for maybe 3 hours, and then dissolve into a greasy looking mess. I felt that this primer did in fact smooth, soften, hydrate, soothe, add a soft focus finish,… But it didn’t even my tone, extend makeup wear for 16 hours, minimize texture, blur lines, or keep my makeup fresh. 5 out of 10 ain’t bad I guess? I give it 3 stars.

This primer is so unique and works wonders for my textured skin. It fills my pores and leaves my skin looking incredibly smooth after applying foundation over top. It makes my foundation last all day as well and keeps my makeup looking fresh. It has a dewy finish and will leave you looking youthful. It also reduces fine lines under my eyes and on my forehead. I have never consistently used primer before. I think of it more as a special occasion type thing, but my makeup routine is pretty minimal so primer always seemed like an unnecessary step. BUT. This marshmellow primer from NYX has converted me. I'm a primer girl now. I also have rosacea on my nose and cheeks and also tend to get oily throughout the day.I really put this primer to the test because I had a work event that I had to present for that lasted all day. I had no primer because the price went up so high on the one I had been using when I ran out. I use a serum, a lotion, then this primer. I don't use primers every day but I do have dry skin that can be textured or cause foundation to cling in areas. And some areas don't seem to play well with foundation no matter what the prep. My nose, in particular, repels all foundation. Some foundations are worse than others and piel up on my nose so I'm always looking for primers to help that. I have found a few that look nice on the rest of my face but never one that fixes the nose issue. This one works! Not only that, it feels heavenly on the skin. It's moisturizing, but very light feeling, smoothing but not slick. It almost has a calming effect on my skin when it's particularly dry and red. And the smell is so wonderful. It's subtle and sweet. This one is actually worth the hype and I will absolutely purchase again!

My favorite primer is CoverFx. It's been sold out everywhere so I've been trying different kinds. I use mostly powder makeup when I go to work. I really love the way this primer works. It makes my powder make up stay through my entire 14 hour shift at the hospital without making it look cakey. The ONLY reason I couldn't give it all 5 stars is that I suffer from migraines that are triggered by scents. This product doesn't have a super strong scent but it smells really sweet. Like cotton candy. A little sweet for my taste, but it doesn't last long so I'll power through because it works really well. If this product didn't have such a sweet smell or if it came in an unscented version, I WOULD BUY IT ALLLLL.
