Broke First Slice

Bought the OXO Good Grips Egg Slicer to replace an 20+ year old LeifHeit mushroom/egg slicer that finally bit the dust. Every wire on the new OXO slicer snapped while slicing a few olives for a pizza! Even though I like the OXO brand (love their coffee maker), this is not a sturdy kitchen gadget and I wouldn't recommend.

EGG slicer only

This is an amazing EGG slicer. And by EGG, I mean only egg. I tried to use it to slice mushrooms and my last one broke. I love this product, so I ordered a new one. If you love it for eggs, stick to slicing eggs or you will be buying a new one like me.

Egg slicer from OXO

This was an add-on to a gift. The recipient wanted an egg slicer. She was pleased to get it, and said it looks just like her old one (which broke when someone tried using it on some kind of fruit or vegetable). I generally trust OXO products. This one hold the egg in both N-S and E-W orientations, which she wanted. It looks compact and easy to clean. I tried to see if the metal cutting strings are able to go all the way through to the underside of the egg. It's hard to tell, but there is nothing obvious in the way of that. I chose this one after reading many reviews, and it was well received.

I finally found an Egg Slicer I really like! I love how the OXO Good Grips Egg slicer stays in place while in use. The slice is clean and quick!!! Glides right thru eggs and strawberries. Easy to rinse off as well! Simple, lightweight and durable. It makes the perfect texture for egg salad!!! Very pleased and happy with this purchase.

Use it every day. Clean perfect cuts. Much more efficient than knife. Slices remove easily and cleanly. Device easy to clean. Run under faucet or put in top rack of dishwasher. Doesn't slide around. One second to perfect cuts.

I LOVE this egg slicer!

My old egg slicer broke after several years of service. It was from Pampered Chef and kinda pricey so I was very worried that a replacement was going to be expensive. I was pleasantly surprised with the price. I was also worried that it wouldn’t be strong enough to cut through strawberries, which is what I use it for more often than eggs. It slices strawberries like a dream! I’m in love with my new egg slicer!

Ok I did read that a few folks weren't thrilled with this product but I love it. As a person who cooks constantly I use all my kitchen products to an extreme. Regarding this product ...this is what I like.. first it stays in place on your counter due to the rubber bottom.. the slices are not so thick they make your egg salads too chunky..they are just right ...the tines are sharp and make the cuts easy and clean and because this unit is pretty solid it's easy to use especially important for those whose hands are pain full due to arthritis etc. ...and it's so safe for the dishwasher as well where other units can pit (all metal types) ...overall another OXO great product.

Makes the job easy

I had an old... and I do mean old... egg slicer that was falling apart but I wouldn’t give it up because it made the job of slicing eggs so easy. When I saw this much more modern version at BBB, I knew it was time to put my old one to rest. Not sure why I waited so long to replace. The quality and design is fantastic (and it didn’t fall apart when washing it.). I get my sliced eggs and even chopped (turn the egg in the opposite direction after the first pass) that look like a pro was in the kitchen. Easy way to make egg salad. Love this thing.
