I have used almost every vivid from Pravana and I have loved every single one. The best, in my opinion, is the violet. If you don't like to dye your hair often, the violet is perfect. It takes forever to fade, especially if you don't wash your hair often, it does bleed a bit in the beginning, but it does stop after a few washes and isn't super faded like some other colors. Even with all the bleach, this always made my hair feel amazing. It definitely put back some much needed moisture, as long as you don't use developer. The vivids have great deposit and are BRIGHT.

I’ve used pravana’s violet for years. Like years. In the last year I noticed a change: fades to blue or blue green. If the color is near processing color at all, immediately changes to the blue green tint. Looks like a color correction needed. This never happened before. I have a client who does brown base and purple highlights. We used to be able to process at the same time and no problem. Not anymore. It’s really disappointing when my clients don’t get the consistent result due to the company changing the formula that was perfect before. Now anytime I try to remove the purple or the faded blue green, it doesn’t budge. So whatever you did to the formula will great color correction needs. Thanks for nothing.

Really expensive to get and I'm still living the nightmare of using it.Went everywhere and stained everything and I cannot get it off. Tried everything. It's all over me, my back, face and neck are completely blue. Every time you touch your hair or your hair touches something it stains because of how much it bleeds and washing it does not help. Washed it 5 times and it's still happening. It's stained a load of my clothes, bedding and coats. My bath is also stained and will not come off.I had my nails done the other day, was so happy with them and they were expensive. They have now been turned a muddy blue from this hair dye and are ruined.

I purchased the ChromaSilk vivids "Green" about a month ago from Amazon, now I really love how this dye works, it takes very well... And the colors are very vivid... The issue I have is that they had the WRONG color tube of dye placed in the green box. It was a deep blue color. My hair was toned to a white color after hard work and lots of patience. So I'm pretty upset to see a cobalt blue show up on my white hair. I am 38 and I've been dying my hair since I was 12, I have many years of experience with all sorts of hiccups. I have never had an issue with getting the incorrect color sent in the correct box before. So now I have to spend more time, money and patience waiting for this color to fade only to have to damage it further by bleaching again then pay more to ... MoreI purchased the ChromaSilk vivids "Green" about a month ago from Amazon, now I really love how this dye works, it takes very well... I Couldn't tell when I had it in the bowl that it was blue, it looked like a deep forest green. So I'm pretty mad, however the dyes work well and I'm sure if I had actually received the green it would have been exactly what I wanted... Now I don't know if I should trust buying pravanna again or not because of the factory or workmen failure on their part.
I usually use Wild Orchid and mix one tube with one tube of blue topaz, so when it fades, it goes to a mermaid-type mix of colors. The blue definitely stays forever lol. However, I like the look of the purple tourmaline so I tried it this go round. I will not use it again. It was almost a translucent bright purple going on, and it didn’t even cover the previous color like every other time I’ve used Vivids in the last three years straight. A drop hit the counter and wiped away with hardly any color staining at all, which is NOT how it has gone with all of the other Vivids colors we’ve used (red, wild orchid, black, neon green, blue topaz, pink, and two more I can remember). Whatever yall did to the formula, please put it back.
I’ve been looking for Pravana brand hair dye. It’s my go to it’s sold out on Amazon or the shipping cost is ridiculous 6.99 plus the cost of the hair dye. I was pleasantly surprised to find that Walmart had it through 3rd party seller. This is a great dye it’s no damage to hair as it doesn’t need any peroxide. The color last through washes and when it does “fade” it still looks nice just not as vibrant but doesn’t look saturated or worn out as other hair dyes do. Which is a immediate need for a touch up. So it’s a low maintenance if you Are looking to do fun vibrant colors. (Hair does have to be lightened prior to applying if you want the full effect)
Purchased via amazon and reviewed there originally but felt it necessary to share here too:I let my silver ombré dyed hair grow/fade out and it got really brassy/wheat colored through the summer. I previously purchased but didn’t use the chromasilk vivids silver direct dye color after reading TERRIBLE reviews about the new formulation and issues with color bleed/fade etc. Finally tried it today and was beyond pleasantly surprised. Probably needed two tubes instead of just one as I have long and thick hair so will do that next time. Did not use a developer (as per directions inside of box) and just directly massaged the color into dry hair with gloves on. Left in for 30 mins and then rinsed under coldest temp water. It very quickly ran clear and there was no staining.Hard to tell in the pix but my hair is back to being a silver ombré up into the brassy/copper where my initial and nearly a year old bleach job meets my otherwise naturally jet black hair. It looks amazing in person and with high color dimensionality. It is SILVER! Not blue, not green! Hallelujah! The only negative so far is the smell while the color was setting—like bad men’s/teenager after shave. But mostly gone after washing out and especially after using some hair products (color and heat protectant serum+spray). Don’t know about how it will stay with future washes etc but will update if anything goes wrong/unexpected.Long review short: Try it for yourself!! (and please note this is for the silver color)
I've been using pravana violet for over 10 years. When it was in the silver bottle it was amazing. Lasted long and faded within shades of purple back to blonde. I had bought a lot of the old tube and recently ran out so I got the new black tube version. Well immediately I noticed it wasn't as pigmented. Very easy to clean from my sink and shower but I was like hey thats cool, but I noticed it was fading alot faster, and now it's faded to a gross blue turquoise. I seriously hate it. I used to rave about pravana and how good it is and how it doesn't fade to gross colors like other brands but now i guess I have to find a different brand that doesn't do this.
Violet was my go to for long lasting purple. I actually needed to dilute the dye because it used to be so pigmented. It would take me a while to go through a tube, which was nice! They changed the formula now and it’s hardly pigmented. I have to use two full tubes just for one session now. On top of that, it no longer fades to a nice silvery toned blonde, it stains my hair blue green and looks so awful. What did you guys do? Why change a perfect formula? To save a buck? It’s really so disappointing. Will have to find a new brand of dye. Just wanted to warn people out there to not waste their money on Pravana anymore.
I have a group of clients coming in all wanting the same colors of blue going through their hair. I wanted to test them out on myself before I used them on clients, as I've heard pretty good things about the line but never actually used it. Blissful blue, neon blue, blue topaz and the regular blue were the colors they chose and besides the colors all fading to one, even with the coldest water my shower could provide, staining the tub and my sheets(not worried about that - its happy accidents that make the world go round), it stained my neck, back, chest, shoulders, face and its continuing to stain my skin even after 5 washes in freezing cold water. I have now shampooed 10 times in 5 days and everyday I wake up with more blue around my neck, chest, shoulders, face. I personally don't know if I will ever use these fashion colors on any clients because I do not want them having the same problems as myself. For context I have had fashion colors in my hair consecutively for the last 8 years and this is the only color(s) that have ever stained my skin this badly. Not happy and not sure what to use to get it off, I've used rubbing alcohol, Schwartzkopf's color remover, ACETONE, and baby oil. I've also been in touch with pravanas customer service line which also seems to not be helpful thus far.
