Pravana Neon Blue 90ml

Literally obsessed with this pink. I keep three tubes of it on deck all the time. I love how soft it is. It’s almost borderline a coral color when the sun hits it at the right light. I’ve tried other pinks trying to find something similar that’s more available as most of the time when I go to cosmoprof or SalonCentric they are out of stock. But nothing compares. Even the fade it beautiful.

I bought Pravana because I had read about the incredible lasting power. After using this dye, I can understand the hype. My color is extremely rich and vivid. The issue I am having is that even a week later, the dye continues to bleed. Every time I shampoo, my shower gets stained blue. Every time i touch my hair, I turn blue. I have the hand of midas... except everything I touch turns blue instead of gold. Personally I am not a fan of the extra mess. I'd rather use Manic Panic which is long lasting on me without this level of mess.

Pravana Vivid’s is an amazing color line. You can use it right out of the tube or mix it with conditioner to soften or make pastels. That being said whats in the bowl is what you get! So test the color on a paper towel or white paper. This silver can be dark so make sure you dilute it if you’re looking for a platinum silver tone. You must completely saturate each strand. The color doesn’t spread easily especially when not diluted. Make sure you have enough tubes on hand to cover all of your hair. Whatever’s left over you can save for when the color starts to fade. To do this: shampoo your hair like normal than mix in a few drops of the Vivid’s with your conditioner and rinse. It’s the perfect mini refresh for your color! Pigmentation. They however are the most expensive vivids in the hair industry and offer little solution on keeping them in longer. In this photo, I have Wild Orchard Pravana Chromesilk vivids applied. This color is apart of the red dye, smallest hair molecule, so washing even once, you’ll see a lot of color run through.

That said, I've tried literally everything, and I can tell you that I always go back to Pravana for bright, semi-permanent color. It lasts a loooong time, can stain almost everything, but again, it lasts a long time and the colors are true to the tube. Keep the color wheel handy because it all depends on how you mix the color with your existing hair color and if it's pre-lightened, which is recommended. I'm usually in the blue ranges when it comes to hair color but will occasionally get out of my comfort zone and do a green or a purple like this one. To get around some of the staining, I make a custom color conditioner with 2/3rds conditioner to 1/3 of Pravana. This will help the color last even longer even between the time I need to re-bleach my roots. I've got an esthetician license and I get mine that way, but I've seen it on Amazon. Read all the reviews though and use the Fakespot browser extension to check review legitimacy. I've read that they might be selling fake product, so buyer beware.

I personally did NOT like this at all. My hair was already pre lightened to a very very light blonde I would say a number 8/9 and this didn’t take at all. It could be that my hair was a little damaged from bleaching but literally did nothing for me. Hopefully other people have better results than I did. It was also on clearance at cosmo prof. It was always in stock when I went there too so definitely wasn’t selling a lot. That’s just my opinion tho. If anyone had different results I would love to know because never know maybe I’ll give it another try. Maybe there’s a trick to it lol.

All pastels are so light

This is the 4th lilac pastel I've used in the past month since I bleached my hair Platinum white in preparation for depositing purple pastel. It was probably 2nd to pulp riot lilac. It hardly went on at all but is more of a silver almost bluish light color. It actually looks kind of pretty, especially with my dark blue ends but like any other pastel dye, it just does not go on well and is not bright at all.

Just awful

I decided to try Pravana because a teammate of mine used it and had amazing results. She didn't use pastels though so I had no idea these would be different (it was also 3 years ago). So I bought one tube of Pretty in Pink for my son's half and half, and two tubes of Luscious Lavender for my entire head. It. Was. Awful. I've been doing hair for 24 years, I've had and done pastels before. I'm not sure exactly what happened but even with protein filler, it only took to certain parts of our hair and we both had level 9.5 blonde. I processed like I always do and I'm meticulous with Vivids. The Pravana lightener & developer were amazing and totally worth the money. Love, Love, LOVE Pravana hair dye, amazing pigment and long lasting colour.Especially when applied to dry hair.Looks best when used on a high level of pre lightened hair but can be applied to a low level with great results also and covers fade out from previous colours pretty well too.This colour is hands down my favourite and my go to. I’ve purchased it at least 5 times!
