Being of a retired age and not heavy framed I chose products that are light weight and easy to use. This product is exactly that. My project was to sand a door frame back to its original colour I found the sander to be light enough to hold up for extended periods whilst the extendable bit got right into the corner's and along the narrow frame of the doorI loved the ease of using the Velcro pads which you can quickly set up and get going.The down side is ... wear all the protective gear, goggles, mask and ear defenders as its fairly noisy the collection bag does not collect that well so expect a bit of dust everywhere even in your eyes if not protected

It is compact and comfortable in the hand and performs extremely well for a small sander. It is perfect for small jobs and it efficiently extracts sanding dust into the dust cartridge. The cartridge is easily removed and cleaned. This is an all round good performer.

The finger sander was a real benefit while doing the banisters for 65m of deck. The body of a sander could not get into the gap so hand sanding was the only way, until....
I purchased a Ryobi Palm Sander to help clean a door prior to staining and varnishing. I found the sander was easy to use in tight spaces, very light and easy to hold. Replacing sanding pads was easy with minimum waste.
I bought this sander to help renovate my timber kitchen. It's been great for getting into the tight corners and edges of the moulding and has done a great job of sanding off the old finish. The machine itself is very light to use and I'm very happy with it and its performance.
Don’t bother to buy this Sander as I bought one and the first things that broke was the detailed sander part i.e. the little finger thing. So, I thought great, this make life easier when it comes to the fiddle bits when sanding.So, after the 2 minutes of using it, the little finger thing became detached. No problem, I will get a replacement from Bunnings and using the new sander the same thing happened again!So, what ever you in this life, don’t buy the product, it is crap.
Brought from Bunnings, only to find they don’t stick the sanding pads ! Not ideal, as having trouble locating them anywhereBunnings staff told me to cut my own out !
I really like this sander and the finger is fantastic (a great idea) my “however” is that once the unit starts vibrating, the little plastic lock for the finger, bounces off, and now the little metal lock also bounces out (and gets lost) so can’t lock the finger into place anymore.I’ve only had it three months and the plastic bit has been bouncing off the whole time.But I would buy another one when this one dies, they are easy and light to use and give a great finish.
Bought one of these less than two years ago and now can't get sanding pads as no ody stocks including manufacturer. So check carefully before you buy as Ryobi keep changing their non standard fit consumables so left with useless tool. Batteries on cordless stuff same go to buy new battery and shape/ connections changed so need to buy complete new set again not the bargain they may at first seem,
