I got this primarily for fixing my jeans, shorts, dog toys and dog beds. The dog stuff is easy enough since the material isn't very thick but the shorts and jeans really put my old machine to work having to go through several layers. It wasnt fun or easy at all. But now, I'll do jeans all day! This machine glides through several layers of thick material like its warm butter! I'm beyond impressed! I've already hemmed up several shorts that ripped along the knees, patched some jeans and replaced I dont even know how many broken zippers that my last machine couldn't do. I love this machine and I cant believe I'm this excited about patching up old clothes and fixing ripped dog toys. I highly recommend this machine, you wont regret it.

The setup is pretty simple. The biggest factor that might posse an issue is make sure you purchase good quality thread. This will eliminate 98% of any possible problems. I found out cheap thread and you have a world of issues. The machine with everything needed to start sowing. I am no pro my wife is better than I am this is my first time using a machine to sew and I found setting it up with the instructions provided was very easy. I just did a basic pillow case and it was easy. due to having an excellent machine. Loading the bob setting the needle, for a novice this was easy to do.

Good Machine
19 June 2023

I bought a Singer after owning Kenmore and Brother sewing machines for 40 years. Its a good machine, has a lot of power, can sew through multiple layers of fabric with ease which is what I was looking for.The only downside is the sewing table is smaller than what I had expected. It's about 3 inches shorter in length and 2 inches in width which may not seem much but is a necessity when working with large projects.I guess manufacturer has to cut cost somewhere!

This brand and this machine is every part amazing. The machine is not extremely bulky. It is easy to move around. For what it does, I feel it is rather compact. But, that doesn't mean it isn't efficient. I highly recommend this to anyone needing a sewing machine. Especially for those heavier jobs. You will not regret this machine one bit.

Love this sewing machine!

I was so excited about this sewing machine. I sew woven wool pillowcases so I needed a sewing machine that could withstand the heavy fabric. The extension table is the best thing ever. I am not sure how I’ve gone this long without having one! Set up was so easy and the instructions were well written and easy to understand. It ran nicely, didn’t give off any weird burnt smells like I’ve read from other users and it withstood the wool and several cotton pieces at once. Also it nicely sews just a strip of cotton fabric too. I don’t use all of the attachments it comes with but glad they are made available. If I had one thing to complain about it would be the cover they provide. But it obviously is just a dust cover and not meant to protect the machine itself. Powerful machine, great for jeans!

I'll be honest, I'm a novice at sewing, but I'm also needing to hem or fix jeans, reattach buttons, fix tears in clothes and jackets all the time. I also sometimes sew logo patches on to shirts and jackets. I finally made the decision to invest in a SINGER and I decided to go with the heavy duty one and do not regret it! My husband is a mechanic and is hard on clothes and in some of the bigger tears or rips, we've just thrown jeans away, so I'm so excited to save more pairs of jeans and not feel so wasteful. While a novice, I have some very experienced people in my life that have helped me get this set up and gave me a refresher on how to use. They were really impressed with the machine and love that it came with the extension table - especially when you're working with jeans, the extra space is great! They also mentioned that it's got a great starter kit with all of the accessories, especially with the extra needles and seam ripper. The speed is impressive and it effortlessly sews up jeans and other heavy duty materials. It feeds smoothly (I'm still getting used to the foot peddle) but I haven't had any problems so far!

Seems to be great

Not much time to use before review was due. My project was a bag made from upholstery fabric with a cotton liner. Machine sewed great on both fabrics. Used the provided Jeans needle for the heavy fabric. Very little problems going through several layers. It would have been helpful if the presser foot could have higher clearance by as I tried to feed thick seams under to begin project. Also the speed was fine sewing long straight seams but would have been helpful if I could have set it to a slower speed working around circle edges. The foot peddle a little stiff so more pressure resulted in a fast speed.Light weight. Easy to move to table and attachable table great for sewing larger pieces together. The removable base producing a narrow swing arms worked great when sewing around the circular areas of bag. Liked the movable needle position. I could use the wide foot to help hold seams together yet move needle to the right to produce the 1/4 seam I wanted. I also used the overcast foot on my edges for smooth edge. I have difficulty seeing small things so the self threaded is perfect for my eye Sight. The only reason I rated this a 4 instead of a 5 was the height of presser foot clearance making it difficult to get thick seams started. I usually do quilt piecing so it will have no problems with those projects. Easy to start sewing right out of the box bit i would really like to use this mkre to gibe a better review m

So good to have a sewing machine in the house
11 September 2023

I’ve only had the machine two weeks, and done a few simple projects. I used to sew an occasional dress or skirt but haven't used a machine for decades. It feels very good to have a sewing machine again. This machine is very easy to use. Very easy to fill the bobbin and thread the needle with the automatic needle threader. Very nice stitching. Love the variety of stitches and the ways you can adjust the lengths etc. Very nice to have the seam ripper and other accessories included. Easy to take the foot off, easy foot pedal. Love the included deck. The machine is lightweight but seems sturdy. (I could barely lift my mother's old machine.) All adjustments are there in front of me, easy to see.So I can't speak to durability. I hope to get many good years out of this ... MoreI’ve only had the machine two weeks, and done a few simple projects. I'm not a quilter but this machine looks good for that purpose, so maybe I'll try it.Not so great: there is glare on the chrome metal plates from the machine's light, which makes it hard to see the needle area, hard to read the edge guide. I use a little task light on it to see better. Also I couldn't find a manual online for this model, and had to download and print out the manual for a similar model. Took me twenty minutes to print out to avoid printing the foreign language pages. They should include a printed manual with the machine. They do include a printed quick start guide which is very useful, but the manual provides much more info. For example, I just couldn't get the threader to work til I read the manual and said, ah ha, that's how it works. For all the benefits, accessories and attributes, I think this machine is a very good bargain at the price.

Strong machine
7 September 2022

We really love this machine. Very easy setup, my wife was sewing in no time. She loves the table extension, and all the included feet and accessories. Another big hit is the built in needle threader. She was very pleased to be able to sew heavy fabrics and in over an hour, did not break a thread. The only concerns she has is the handle for lifting the presser foot is plastic. It has not been a problem, but is worth noting. Also, the power cord and cord to foot pedal could be longer. Sewing on a dining room table, the pedal just reached the floor. Overall a great versatile machine.
