I've found these tires to be about as perfect a gravel tire as anything else out there. Bought them in a 38c, which were 40mm wide mounted on a rim with a 25mm internal width. Mounting was smooth and easy.Next, let's talk about grip. The hexagonal file tread through the center of the tire does a nice job of braking on gravel surfaces, while keeping the rolling resistance low, even on pavement. After four months, the center tread started to wear off on the REAR tire. However, that is no different than any other REAR tire with tread, as the rear is used for both braking and accelerating under power. The center tread on the front tire is still going strong. Pertaining to both front and rear, the knobs on the edge do keep an edge while leaning into corners. And they've held up remarkably well after six months of use.Lastly, I'll mention puncture protection. I've done most of my riding these past six months in northwest Arkansas, where the gravel can be sharp and pointy. And I've raced these tires at both Unbound 100 and Lil' Sugar gravel races. I've not flatted once.

These tires came with my Cannondale Quick CX 3 bike. The tires, especially the rear tire, didn't hold up well. I only got a little over 425 miles on the rear tire before the center tread was worn flat due to the torque and braking effects on the rear tire. I switched the tires out for WTB Nano tires. Most of my riding is on paved roads and multi-use paved trails. The one positive to these Vittoria tires is that they do roll quickly, but why would you want to spend more than $30 for a tire you're having to replace after only 400 miles of riding?

Was already impressed with the Terreno Dry gravel tyres in summer, but when I fitted some old Continental CX tyres for winter I started picking up a lot of hawthorne punctures, so fitted these and went tubeless. They possibly didn't feel quite as fast as the paper thin Conti tyres, but they feel bombproof (similar to the Terreno Dry) and obviously tubeless lets me run slightly lower pressures. They grip well in the mud, it takes some pretty serious gradient or pedal mashing to spin them out, and cornering is predictable and fun, you can pretty much make them slide round anything if you want to. No punctures to date and the one big wack I gave them off a rock I didn't see (big enough to ding the rim) doesn't seem to have even scuffed the sidewall.Am considering ... MoreWas already impressed with the Terreno Dry gravel tyres in summer, but when I fitted some old Continental CX tyres for winter I started picking up a lot of hawthorne punctures, so fitted these and went tubeless. I have just bought a pair of these and unfortunately on the first 'proper' gravel ride the rear took a sidewall cut that was so big it was impossible to seal and needed a tube to get me home. That said, other than this the tires felt really good and inspired confidence on the dry but sometimes challenging terrain I was riding. I will probably buy a replacement and put this down to bad luck (a bit of a Titanic maiden voyage thing I suppose). Also the tan walls do look awesome!
Excellent low rolling resistance tires that are great for rail trails, but also help smooth the bumps on the asphalt. They weigh a little bit more than my old slick road tires, but they’re also a bit bigger (33 vs 30). My 34km commute is mostly on the road, but with some segments with gravel and dirt patches, and they’re much more solid on the gravel than my old slicks. They’re nice and quiet no matter the surface and hook up pretty well on aggressive turns.I did a 40km gravel rail trail recently, and had zero problems. They’ve handled curbs and the occasional pothole/crack with no trouble.I’ve probably put about 500km on theses without any significant signs of wear so far.Overall, I’d say they’re 90% as good on the pavement as slick road tires, but 100% ... MoreExcellent low rolling resistance tires that are great for rail trails, but also help smooth the bumps on the asphalt. I’m super happy with these. If you have a road bike that you don’t mind getting off the pavement every once in a while (or even more often than that), these are a great choice.
Even though I ordered size 700 X 35, and the package was labeled 700 X 35, the tire inside the unopened box was 700 X 38. I didn’t notice this until I had the tire installed and mounted on my bike’s rear. I was surprised that it fit through my bike’s rear triangle. It does make for a very comfortable ride. I ride mostly streets and bike trails so the larger size is overkill. Also, the difference between this 38 rear tire and the 32 I have on the front dropped my front bars too much and put too much pressure on my shoulders. I returned the tire. If I had a 35 or 38 on the front I would have kept it.
I recently purchased a set to replace my original tubeless WTB on my Giant Gravel Bike. While these are smoother, sticker and quieter on the road, after less than 50 miles in the park they already seem to be leaking sealant from the center smooth tread. Pretty disappointing. If they cannot hold up to smooth new pavement I can’t imagine they could resist punctures from sharp rocks and gravel. I was just looking for a durable city tire.
These tires roll well, they're durable, and their shoulder knobs will reliably save you if you loose traction as you're turning/banking on loose gravel. It's a similar idea to the Specialized Pathfinder but executed far more efficiently. The Pathfinder is great for smooth, flat riding, but it's trash as soon as the riding gets technical - the knobs are squirmy and unpredictable, whereas the Terreno Dry will engage reliably and predictably as soon as the shoulder knobs make contact w/ the ground.I ride mellow single track and loose over hard gravel, and I do wish these tires had small center tread for better traction going straight. The center tread (or not-tread, to put it more accurately) cuts loose more easily than something like the Bontrager GR1 or the Maxxis ... MoreThese tires roll well, they're durable, and their shoulder knobs will reliably save you if you loose traction as you're turning/banking on loose gravel. The center tread (or not-tread, to put it more accurately) cuts loose more easily than something like the Bontrager GR1 or the Maxxis Rambler when you're putting power to pedals on steep uphills or when you're breaking on a steep descent, which is why I don't recommend it as a front tire for anything other than pavement and ultra smooth gravel.I'm 160lbs and ride ~42psi. Haven't had any issues with seating the tire and haven't had any issues with punctures.
I bought these for a couple reasons. One I wanted a better rolling gravel tire which they do well and second I love the look of gum wall tires. They succeeded on both levels. State also shipped them very fast, absolutely no complaints.
These are excellent tires, great grip, smoothly and comfortable ride, and they have low rolling resistance. they only downside is that they don't last very long, around 1200km back tire. However that is small price to pay for comfort and ride enjoyment.

Vittoria Terreno Dry TNT Tyre in Black
Conditions have been dismal in the dry spell. Scorching summer sun has left the old rail trails, country roads, and gravel grinds parched, and coated with dust that is sent flying with every rotation of your tires. Your mud-ready hoops are feeling a bit out of place, to throw on Vittoria's Terreno Dry G2. 0 Tubeless Tires to elevate your grip in the fine silt and sand. The Terreno Dry features a dry-condition specific treat with "fish scale" center that rolls quickly, and shoulder knobs that grip into the dust to elevate your braking control and cornering grip. This particular version comes with Vittoria's TNT casing, which easily seals up for running lower air pressure and gaining bump compliance in tubeless form. The 3C rubber compound includes Vittoria's exclusive G2. 0 Isotech for smoother rolling, longer tread life, and outstanding traction across off-road surfaces. For a bit more protection across rugged ground, the sidewalls are reinforced from punctures and inconvenient flats.
