A nice melting cheese . This cheese was easily found on the top shelf with all the other cheeses in the dairy case. It was very clearly labelled. Upon opening there was 10 slices of cheese all of even shape and size. Gouda cheese in my opinion has a really interesting flavour and taste compared to the usual cheese I buy. I found it to be nice and creamy and bold in flavour. It has great melting properties. I enjoyed on top of a chicken parmy as suggested by @micatI also enjoyed it on sandwiches both toasted and untoasted and it added great flavour to both. This cheese is made in the Netherlands with a health star rating of 3. 5 and has no artificial colours, flavours or preservatives. It is priced at $4. 90 (price at time of writing) which I found to be reasonable. ... MoreA nice melting cheese . Overall I will purchase this cheese in the future and would recommend to others.

Is this cheese worth trying? For sure, it's very gouda! Location in store: In the dairy aisle, near the eggsEase of finding: quite easy (it was located on the second top shelf at my local Woolies store). Usual Price: $4. 90 as at the time of this review. Overall thoughts: I'm starting to think that Woolworths is understanding that I love sandwiches and keep on providing me with sandwich related ingredients! Even if it's a coincidence, it's a lovely one. This gouda cheese was something I was very excited to try and I had it both in both toasted and un-toasted forms. There's nothing like gooey cheese melts with ham, but also just as good is a standard sandwich which you've created for quick consumption when you don't have as much time to spare. I personally found it to be good by itself, and would recommend to others for sure!Final rating: 5/5 stars.

Our new go to Cheese. Firstly, thank you for the opportunity to try the Woolworths Gouda Cheese Slices, 10 for $4. 90 or 49cents per slice. No preservatives, no artificial colors, no artificial flavors, it has a mild flavor and I purchased a couple of pub style crumbed Chicken breasts from the deli. I cooked the chicken and then spread some WW pizza sauce and placed a slice of the cheese on each one and we had chicken parmie Popped them under the grill until; the cheese melted and Bobs your uncle---- delicious. we had the remaining slices and made open toasties with them, ham, pineapple and cheese, and ham cheese and tomato and chicken, cheese and avocado. Now we normally buy the WW Swiss pkt cheese, but I think we are going to definitely switch to the gouda from ... MoreOur new go to Cheese. Tasty & Convenient. Located on the top shelf in the cold cheese section of the supermarket. Priced at $4. 90 for 200gm/10 slices HSR 3. 5 Strength 3 Mature No artificial colours, Flavours and Preservatives Made in the Netherlands Once opened store in an airtight container in the refrigerator. Use within 7 days. The peel back corner was easy to open. Once opened, there is an inviting cheese smell. 10 slices are in the pack and are easy to separate. Ingredients:I added this to a toastie with tomato and it tasted delicious. Tasty, creamy but not a strong flavour. I was expecting a stronger flavour. I also added it to a chicken schnitzel and Mr M really enjoyed the flavour. This was an enjoyable cheese but quite expensive for the amount of slices. Thanks Bunch for this ... MoreTasty & Convenient. Located on the top shelf in the cold cheese section of the supermarket. Mild but tasty. I'm not a cheese connoisseur by any means, but when I like something, I like it. This cheese, I like. I had some straight out of the packet, and I found a few things. The cheese doesn't stick to the other cheese slices, so peeling away from the others is easy. The packaging is easy to open but doesn't reseal (requiring a container or another freezer bag to keep the cheese fresh. The cheese goes well on a toasty, or warmed up, better than eating it straight from the fridge. The flavour is quite mild, even though it says mature on the package, and is very different from a mature tasty cheese. Some people find that Gouda cheese has a nutty flavour to it, but I can only detect a very minor hint of nutty flavour. If you want more, I would probably suggest ... MoreMild but tasty. If you want more, I would probably suggest Jarlsburg. 200g of this cheese will get you 10 slices (regular bread-sized slices) and a good even thickness. It will also cost you $4. 90 (where I'm from - I'm not sure if there are price variations depending on location). If you want Gouda cheese, I'll assume that the quality is as good as any other Gouda cheese under a different brand. For my family, this is quite an expensive cheese so we would only be buying this for special occasions or a specific recipe and not for every day.
I will buy this again and again! I have never bought sliced cheese before. Always thought it was too expensive when you could buy a block and cut yourself for cheaper. This product however changed my mind!! A great flavour cheese, super easy and convenient for lunch and well priced. Here's the thing.. it is sliced so much thinner than what I would normally cut cheese myself therefore using less and it goes further for lunches. It's also super flavoursome so you don't need anymore than once think slice to dress up your sandwich. A great product I will buy again and again. I didn't notice when I picked it up but it may come in other flavours also which is great if you want a change and don't want to be eating the same block cheese week in and week out. Convenient Slices perfect for sandwichs. I think i. have tried these in the past and was so excited to get these as a sample! The flavor is so rich and creamy, with just the right amount of sharpness. They're perfect for sandwiches, adding a delicious savory note to every bite. I love how smoothly they melt, too! If you're looking for a tasty and convenient cheese option, I highly recommend giving these a try. Only drawback i found was the plastic packaging that's not recyclable. Come on Woolworths, please try to reduce plastic packaging or quickly find an alternate method to recycle soft plastic!
Easy cheesy. This Gouda is a lot cheaper than the branded versions - $4. 90 for 200g, equivalent to $24. 50kg compared to $36 and $42 per kilo for the brands. This one is also pre-sliced rather than in a block so probably best suited to eating with crackers or in a sandwich. I really enjoyed it, although I personally prefer vintage cheese, for a mid taste cheese, this had a great flavour and it was very creamy. It would have been good to have a resealable pack, but I was able to store in a container to keep it fresh. If you wanted to have a Gouda style cheese I would definitely recommend it. The pre-sliced pack makes it convenient to serve and it would work well in a picnic or other event where you didn’t want to have to take lots of knives etc with you.
Smooth and Creamy. I love the WW specialty cheese range and the Gouda is now my new favorite. The cheese slices are very thin but still separate quite easily. The cheese itself is creamy and delicate. I used them on a variety of foods from sandwiches, crackers to cooking in toasties and melting over chicken. A very versatile product and an easy product to take on picnics, camping etc. The only downfall is the packaging. Once opened you either have to transfer to another container or wrap the whole thing in gladwrap to keep fresh. Not sure how they can change it as we don't need anymore plastic than needed but if recyclable??I will continue to buy this product.
Extremely Goud (good). Traditionally gouda cheese originated from the Netherlands and is made with cows milk. This gouda is made in the Netherlands, from cows milk with non animal rennet. The cheese is super creamy and mild and so perfect for melting and has the perfect stretch when melted. We enjoyed forr breakfast on a ham and cheese crossaint and they were delicious We also enjoyed on some sandwiches and is versatile as is or melted. There are no artificial colours, flavours or preservatives. This is not a cheap cheese at $24. 50/kg unit price, but is the cheapest gouda at woolworths by far. I generally dont by sliced cheese for the family, due to the extra cost. I don't like the packaging, which for 10 slices takes up a lot of room in the fridge and non of it is ... MoreExtremely Goud (good). An observation - I was surprised to see that the package claims to be vegetarian (which I am not and by no means an expert) but I think that claim might not be correct for strict vegetarians who don't drink milk.
