What makes cooking easy and enjoyable? -the answer is, Having the right cooking tools! a knife is one of the essential tools a cook can have. Whether cooking professionally or for your family, it’s important to have the right tools so you can spend the least amount of time cooking and the most amount of time with your friends and family. This is why I enjoy the Wosthof 5” knife I purchased. Its a very versatile tool and allows me to cut meat and veggies and fruit without much effort. The blade fits firmly in my hand and allows enough clearance between the handle and the cutting board for my knuckles to not smack down when slicing. This is anExcellent knife for any cook or experienced chef.

Ive used this knife for most cooking for the last decade+. The handle recently started cracking and hurting my hand so we reached out to the company to see where what we could do to get it usable. Turns out with their lifetime warranty, they just replaced the whole knife for us! We had to send in our knife and I thought they would take forever to repair it and return it. Was trying to make do with my other knife when wustof contacted us to tell us to get a new knife instead. So we ordered the exact same knife since it has been my favorite. Always liked the knife and now happy with the company standing behind their warranty! I will buy my other knives from here also.

I love these knives and appreciate the response when I send in a damaged knife. The only thing that I miss is the fact that my Cutco knives can be sharpened for minimal prices to original perfection but not the Wustoff knives. I have enough Wustoff steak knives for my huge family and many other Wustoff knives that I wish could be sharpened by a professional at Wustoff.

I purchased the Classic 7" Hollow Edge Santoku almost 20 years ago and it is still my go-to knife for prepping meals. It has a great balance; in fact, it feels like an extension of my hand. It's very versatile - I use it to cut through melons, chop onions and mince vegetables.
I chose this knife as a replacement for my 4 1/2, small chef's knife. I wanted something new that would help me thinly slice vegetables and other foods. It was experimental but turned out to be the very knife I needed. I haven't had it for a long time but find myself reaching for it frequently.
Amazing sharp knife and the handle is comfortable as I don't have a large hand. I love the white, just look so classy in my kitchen. It works really well with leafy vegetable and making fine slices on cucumber or carrots. However, I prefer to use the Wustsof 16cm chef knife if I am dealing with large amount of raw meat.
The knife seems to be well made of good materials, for a stainless steel knife. I think it's going to hold its sharpness pretty well. After a month of use, it's doing well, and it gets a lot of use.My only issues so far may be due to my large hands (I'm a male with XL glove size), but the natural position puts my fingers too close to the blade, and the balance is off a bit. I have nicked my finger with the point by the handle. If the handle were a bit larger in diameter and if there were a "stop" or something it would be better. I have a Victorinox 5" chef knife that has that, and it is much more comfortable and reassuring to use.I expected the little pockets to help keep food from sticking. They don't. Maybe design is off.
When my older knife broke, it was finally the time for a set of new knives. Decided to buy Wusthof after looking at reviews. Instead of purchasing the whole set, I went for individual knives that were on sale to suit my needs. These included the 5" cleaver, 5" santoku, and 6" chef's +3 1/2" paring. Have had these for about 2-3 weeks. As soon as I tried, I could immediately tell the difference between my older one and these. Cleaver is heavy, best used with some force from shoulder for cutting chicken bones or heavy fruits like whole water melon (5" is rather smaller for the later job). Paring is on the smaller side, gives better control while carving fruits like cantaloupe or watermelon. Haven't used the chef's but believe it must be great too.Chopping pounds of veggies has now become an easier task, but beware these knives are quite sharp so I prefer to do it a little slow to avoid any injuries. Wusthof offers 25$ C&B gift card for any purchase above 250$, so planning to complete the set with Wusthof knife block once I receive the card. Overall, satisfied with the purchase but I also feel the price is higher even for the quality it offers.
I purchased an entire knife set but I am always reaching for the santoku and pairing knife. it's sized so conveniently as traditional chef knives are too large/heavy for me to comfortably use. If you had to only get one knife, I would definitely recommend this santoku.
This was a replacement for a knife under warranty which I had for quite some time. The replacement knife is fantastic and vey sharp compared to it's replacement and the other knives I have in the set. This is my favorite knife to use. My only concern is how do I keep it sharp? Neither the Wusthof two stage sharpener nor the sharpening tool that came with the set I have seem very effective?
