I initially bought this as a special occasion foundation. It very quickly become a staple in my daily routine. Initially I wasn’t impressed with the shade range for Darker skin. I have rosacea and am always skeptical of the coverage a foundation will give me/if it will cover my redness. This did, however i am only giving it 4 stars because it took some building, but definitely can achieve full coverage. I just hate having to work for it a little more when i have only a few mins to get ready for work. Is it my favorite? No. But it did look nearly flawless on my textured skin. Decided to give the new formula a go, LOVE it!!! I used the Sephora shade match and it actually picked the right shade for once (LN8)! Was worried it’s on the lighter side, but it’s blended fairly well to my neck for now and looks good in pics. I wear shade 1N in dior forever skin glow and forever for reference. Very lightweight and pigmented, but doesn’t cover freckles well with damp sponge of course, probably need a brush for fuller coverage. I use 1.5-2 pumps. I have dry combo skin, but this doesn’t flake or dry out my skin even with a mattifying primer. Definitely repurchasing!

Sigh. It’s so hard buying foundation over the internet, but I had a previous YSL foundation that I absolutely loved. Sadly, it was discontinued and so I looked for a replacement. This is not even close to the quality of what I had before.The color I thought I needed (we need a better chart to compare to our skin tones!) was not available with Nordstrom) and the color numbers are way different than the previous product (can’t we go uniform here, so that if YSL retires one foundation, those same colors are carried over into the new product?). I had to select the one I thought would be the next closest. But even with pre-treating my skin, this product is so dry that it will settle into any lines or wrinkles one had and amplify them. There is no reflective light at all. It is flat (it’s matte I know, but come on, no moisture at all?). It makes me feel heavily made up, which I hate. So I try mixing it with serum or moisturizer before applying and that helps a little. But seriously, this stuff will dry out on the back of your hand or your face before you can even use a sponge to apply it with. You can’t do a light buildup in areas under the eyes because it won’t spread.This is not a product that works for mature skin.All in all, I feel like I paid way too much for a product from a company I count on to deliver great light reflective foundation. So now I have to start all over again.

It’s matte which can be drying especially on already dry skin like my own. Add cold dry air to the mix and this foundation isn’t going to make your skin happy. If you are prepared to quickly develop permanent skin conditions and allergies as a side effect of all the floral ingredients in this, have your face smell super strong gir about 20 minutes and want a super matte effect, AND if the only thing you wear under it is a silicon based sunscreen, it's a hit. Otherwise, I'd say go for something else.[I was in no way incentived to do this, it's from a sample I got with my last sephora order.]

I even forgot to set it one day and was out in the Southern California sun and it still looked beautiful and barely had any oil breaking through. I wouldn't say it's transfer-proof, more transfer-resistant. I haven't tested 24-hour wear but it is long-lasting. However, as much as I love this foundation, I have an issue with there only being 12 shades that work for darker skin tones compared to 20+ more fair skin tones. Being a $60 foundation, which I believe is worth the price, not everybody can buy two shades to get the right one. I looked up the shade conversation chart and bought this one during the spring sale. The consistency is pretty much the same but it's so different and not in a good way! I'm so incredibly disappointed! This version settles into every tiny pore and crevice on my skin and it's not long lasting at all. The max it's stayed on my face is 5hrs. I've tried it without primer, and with all sorts of primers. No matter what it looks terrible and just doesn't last. I'm so sad!!! I keep trying to make it work but I'm not sure I'll be able to.
