While I did not buy this particular set, I do own all the pieces, from my original, nearly 25 year old D3 3-Qt Saute, saucepan, and 10" skillet, to my most recent additions of the non-stick pans. This is a near perfect set, easily covering 90+% of any stovetop needs. If I could add just one piece, it would be the 2-Qt round-bottom saucier. It is invaluable for cooking risottos and custard for ice cream base, or any other sauce where the round bottom minimizes hot-spots and scorching that forms in the corners of other saucepans. It uses the same lid as the 3-Qt saucepanThe choice of the HA-1 non-stick pans is a nod to the fact that all non-stick pans have a limited lifespan and need replacing every 3-5 years. The pan will last forever, the nonstick coating will not.In buying this set, you are laying the foundation for a life-long kitchen. This is important, not just for sentimental reasons, as a home cook it gives you the opportunity to really learn how to use your pans. When I grab my sauté pan, whether making "Côtelette de Porc aux Pommes et Oignons" scented with allspice, and deglazed with Calvados. or pan-searing scallops with rosemary and shallots, I am confident of what to expect and how to best utilize my pans.

These pans peel! After two years of light use, my peeling All Clad pans are now garbage, and I was called a liar when I tried to claim under their “warranty”. The warranty department insisted that I used “high heat” and improper utensils on the pan, when in fact that was not the case. As I told the warranty rep, this was a grilled cheese and eggs pan. I have cast iron pans for high heat, and I never use anything but silicone utensils. Don’t buy these, or any other All Clad products, thinking that you’ll have a warranty— they don’t stand behind their products and will call you a liar!

I bought these pans 2 months ago. I was replacing my 10 year old Scan Pans and have heard good things about All-Clad. I am seeing some minor scratching in my pans. Only use silicone tools and clean with a hot (soft Scrub Daddy which is supposed to be fine for non-stick) if they need it, but not very often. I am very disappointed. I love the way they cook. They heat up fast very even, but after 2 months they look much more worn than my old Scan Pans that were having some handle and lid problems. I guess I would not recommend them. Especially in a kitchen with multiple cooks.

We are starting to replace our nearly 11-year old pans that are well past the point of needing to be replaced. We bought a couple Pampered Chef pans similar to HexClad, and they were an upgrade over our old Calphalon pans, but still did not love the results. I’ve been researching pots and pans and decided to get this 12” Skillet and the Hestan 3.5 qt Essential Pan (also incredible!) to start off our nicer set of cookware. This pan is a DREAM to cook with!! WOW!!!! I had no idea what a difference the right pan can make. Now…warning - this thing is HEAVY!!!! I cannot easily pick this up to slide things off the pan and although this cleans up perfectly, it does hurt my hands to hold it to wash and dry.I still give this 5 stars because that is my own personal health ... This is a Christmas gift for my family, so I haven't used the pan yet. This review is about the customer service that I received from Williams Sonoma. I purchased the pan November 14 online. It was listed as a Hard Anodized Nonstick fry pan with lid. It arrived without a lid. I returned it to my local Williams Sonoma store, and they ordered me a replacement. The replacement did not have a lid. We spent many phone calls confirming that, "yes, it should have had a lid". Finally today a customer care supervisor, Regine, helped me by finding a lid set that they are sending to me. Thank you for making customer satisfaction a priority at Williams Sonoma.
I saw some prior reviews complaining about the handle on this pan. But, the pan was on sale and made by a reputable company. I thought, "how bad can a handle really be?"I hope my naivete will be forgiven by those negatively impacted by this pan handle, most notably my wife. My hands hurt as I type this, left with the imprint of the sharp upper edge of the torture device All-Clad calls a handle.I've experimented, trying many different hand positions and grips, to try to find a way to pick up this pan without causing harm to my hand. All attempts have failed. At the gym I curl 45 lb dumbbells with ease, but in the kitchen I can't pick up my non-stick pan without pangs of regret surging from my hands to my soul. What on earth was All-Clad trying to do with this ... All attempts have failed. At the gym I curl 45 lb dumbbells with ease, but in the kitchen I can't pick up my non-stick pan without pangs of regret surging from my hands to my soul. What on earth was All-Clad trying to do with this handle? A handle is a simple device, known since the ancients discovered the art of pottery. In all of the time that has passed since the Egyptians and Mayans were forming handles on clay, there has never been another handle worse than the one on this All-Clad pan. T-Fal's similar but much less expensive non-stick pan has a wonderful handle it's not complicated. It's round with a rubbery silicone grip. All-Clad chose to use a steel handle with sharp upper edges tip to base.If you want your pan's handle to double as a tool that can scrape the flesh from a buffalo hide in some post-apocalyptic fantasy, buy this pan. Otherwise, please heed my warnings.
Fabulous Non-Stick Pans...if you treat them right! In my youth I worked as a short-order cook in a local restaurant. So I appreciate quality cooking tools. After having every other non-stick pan fail after the initial factory coating wore off, I finally got an All-Clad anodized aluminum non-stick fry pan. Boy, all I can say is what a difference! Now I'm not one of those folks who tries to cook oil-free. I always use a teaspoon or so of butter in the pan (6g-8g for those keeping count) because it tastes better (heaven forbid the food should taste better!) and it is better for the pan. I also only cook at low to medium low heat. I only use nylon or silicon tools, never metal. I never use cooking spray (toxic waste in your freshly cooked food? no thank you!)To clean ... Perhaps they didn't get the anodized aluminum pans? Most mornings I make a french toast using 1 egg, 1/8 cup of milk, cinnamon and two slices of thin Dave's Bread, which are dipped and soaked on both sides then fried in my non-stick pan in 1/2 tablespoon of butter (50 additional cal for those keeping track) over medium low heat. It takes about 1-2 minutes a side. The first time I flip them I spread a tad more butter on the surface while it is hot. Then when done, I add a little salt then some sugar free syrup or my home made sugar free blackberry jam. Yum!My pan still looks brand new, but I LIKE my pans. I baby my pans. I don't treat them like homeless unwanteds. I also like to eat and I love to cook. So again, I don't know what anyone else's problem is or how they are managing to destroy the surfaces of their pans (high heat? metal knives or spatulas? heavy scrubbing? dishwasher? cooking spray?). I just find it odd.
Not as great as reviews say, nor my daughter. The good: even heat, very easy to clean. The bad: I purchased all three 8, 10, and 12 inch. Not one is flat, oil tips to the sides on all of them on first time. The handles are the worse of any of my frying pans. Not only are they awkward, they get VERY hot. I did purhase one of the silicon covers, which mot helps with the heat, the for the life of me I cannot understand why such an expensive set of pans do not have easy to hold, stay cool handles. With the exception of my cast iron pans, all my others (I have many) have cool to touch handles. I will most likely sell or give these away and replace with Ano***. I spent ALOT of money and could not be more disappointed.
TERRIBLE quality. Very disappointed with both the quality of the surface on these pans but more importantly with All-Clad's response. After being a lifelong fan of their stainless and owning several of the higher quality nonstick I mistakenly ordered this set. Didn't notice that this set is made overseas, but that shouldn't mean such a precipitous change in quality. All-Clad makes it prohibitive to return the set (how would you know that the non-stick isn't nonstick until you cook with it once? and that the rivets are impossible to clean?) and now I'm stuck with two junk pans. The worst part was that I used the "contact us" link on the website and it puts you in an endless "error" loop after spending the time to outline the numerous flaws. Incredibly frustrating. ... I bought a set like this a few years ago and we weren't careful with them and the y got scratched, our fault. I wanted to buy another set the same. it turns out even directly from you they are not the same as they were. The bottom of the old pans much thicker and had groves in kind of like an octopus, the walls of the old pans are much thicker. In the new version of the same pans, the bottom is much thinner and the walls and sides are much thinner!! I guess like everything else these days, things are getting smaller, thinner and not made as well as they used to be made. I am not very satisfied with these and I not sure I am going to keep them. Thanks ,Kevin
