ASRock AMD B550M Phantom Gaming 4 Micro ATX AM4 Motherboard

This was the cheapest B550 chipset micro atx AM4 motherboard available on the web, as far as far as I could ascertain that is, so it was purchased with a view to building a quality Ryzen box that, whilst not really suited to pure gaming, could game to a good level and, also, perform other tasks related to academic and creative work, (after all, a modest Ryzen is superior to the best i7 of a few years ago and have a TDP of only 65w!) The potential for speediness is aided by the facility to use an NVME SSD, which I added, and the PCI-E4.0 X16slot for the latest graphics cards. With my CPU having no integrated graphics the on board graphics chip would be inactive and the board would run cool. Very good value for money product. Received it fast and delivery man kept me updated with progress (DPD). Only issue was that the board may have been returned or stored in warehouse for long time so it built some signs of usage around the metal shield area over the I/O port area. New Ryzen 5000 supported board on a cheap with nice RGB features and plenty of I/O but cooling power isn't good so not for overclocking. The VRM on the top left corner near the CPU used to warm up fast without a high volume fan blowing into it. On paper it supports OC but I wouldn't suggest it for anything with 8C/16T variants ryzen and OC with it.

A quality motherboard from ASRock B550M Phantom Gaming 4. Model on b550 chipset support overclocking of cpu and ram memory. Good for AMD Ryzen 5000, has a M-Atx form-factor, a normal cooling system and a power of vrm. Price is good

Amd mainboard

Asrock atx budget board with quality, it as 2 m.2 and one is 22110 m.2 with 4.0 exspress. Nothing bad about this board except it doesn't have wifi but has m.2 wifi/Bluetooth port. So there you have it, hard to find board with same features at same price.

Bad Motherboard

Completely assembled new desktop, turned it on and the CPU fan came on but nothing worked. Reseated memory and used slots that were suggested in manual, made sure all power connection are correct and nothing. Tries several different video cards and nothing. The motherboard was dead and wouldn't even POST. Very disappointed.

Good budget B550 board

I purchased 3 of these boards for Windows and Ubuntu Linux builds. Has just enough for a budget B550 board and no extras you may not use. Was a little hesitant about going with ASRock this time but so far they are OK. Specs of parts used with it - Ryzen 3700x and 3600 processors Cooler Master 212 Hyper rgb CPU cooler and stock Ryzen wrath prism Crucial Ballistix 3600 DDR4 WD Blue NVMe 3.0 SSDs nVidia graphics cards - EVGA and Asus

Great Service

I ordered a B550 MB, knowing that it may need a BIOS upgrade for my CPU, but I didn't realize this board didn't have the flash upgrade feature. The CPU didn't work. AMD sent me a loaner CPU compatible with the BIOS, but it didn't work either. After a two-week delay, NewEgg took the motherboard back with a full refund. The process was very simple.

Probably okay when it works

Bought this to try and save a little money on my first build. My system started crashing immediately, no matter which parts I traded in and out to try and get it to work. ASRock insists it's an issue with Windows, but several full reinstalls later (including on a new drive), the problem was finally solved by buying a different motherboard. I've been told these boards are great when they work, but I'll never buy another one from this brand.

Saw a deal, got it, it works

If you watch Gamers Nexus to learn about power phases, and what kind of chips these are made out of, this board is not for you. Almost every budget build you'll see, uses an AsRock. For good reason. You plug in your processor some LPX RAM and go. Let AMD do its own optimization. Don't bother trying to overclock on these. XMP can be finicky. Corsair LPX is the safest bet.

Worked right out of the box with a Ryzen 5600X. Came with BIOS 1.7 pre-installed

* Came with BIOS v1.7 out of the box. I didn't need to update to use a Ryzen 5600X (your mileage may vary, but newegg has a pretty good volume of orders, so it's likely you'll get a BIOS that supports the newer CPUs) * RAM sticks and CPU all worked beautifully It feels like a good, solid board.
