Aveda Brilliant Damage Control 250 ml

One of my favorite hair care products!! This is a pre-styling spray to help detangle, prevent breakage from brushing, with thermal protection. Since starting a healthy hair journey years ago, I was recommended this product I fell in love. My hair is naturally wavy/dry so brushing my hair dry, is dangerous without conditioning products to prevent breakage. This has been a life-saver! Notice a dramatic difference with hair loss due to breakage since using!! Highly recommend for anyone else who deals with the same issues! Won’t be disappointed; or if you’re looking for a heat protectant with added benefits. Light but nice scent.

A lovely damage control spritz from this Brilliant line. Light with a wonderful fragrance, it is a perfect addition to my haircare routine. I have been using this line for years and was initially introduced by my Aveda Concept Salon in Toronto. I have lots of fine, straight hair - never weighing it down or leaving a heavy deposit. Aveda is cruelty free, but the parent company, Estee Lauder is not as they sell in China where animal testing is mandated by law. Aveda is NOT sold in China.

Disappointing first experience with a heat protectant...

This was recommended to me by a product consultant at a local salon. I wanted to make the switch to higher quality, salon products to help better care for my fine, dry, damaged hair. I've never used a heat protectant before so I was excited to try the Brilliant Damage Control. I tried it both on wet hair after showering and on dry hair the next day and unfortunately, it made my hair feel more dry, look frizzy, and ended up full of static.Also, the spray sort of comes out in a straight stream and the product ends up concentrated in random places. It's hard to comb it through evenly, especially if you put it in dry hair. I'm assuming this is meant for wet hair ONLY. Hair breakage Prevention

Great product for those with wavy/curly or dry/damaged hair. This is a pre-styling spray to prevent breakage/damage to hair from brushing, styling, & heating. A couple spritz is all you need, so this bottle will last a long time. From the bottle, you will get a herbal scent like rosemary, but after sprayed on hair, its light & earthy(smells nice). Not at all overpowering. Noticed significantly less breakage from using this product. Highly recommend

Hard Pass-NO heat protection!

I really wanted to love this. It smells amazing but I have thick low porosity hair and blow dry often. I used it with their prep and prime smoother and was expecting smooth hair. Unfortunately, it did not allow the brush to glide as easily. Also, my hair felt like it had a residue. I also noticed I wasn't able to run my fingers through my hair with out my fingers getting caught in the ends.I also noticed it did not provide enough heat protection. I constantly look at my ends and I had new split ends. I will be returning this.

Leave Hair Feeling Dry & Frizzy

Generally, I use the Smooth Infusion Style Prep with an olive oil based product from Sally's but decided to give this Aveda product a try. I am very disappointed with this Aveda product as it left my hair very dry and created frizz from blowing drying then following up with a flat iron. I do agree it smells great, but I do not my hair to break thus I will not use this product again.

Love the other Brilliant products.........but NOT this one!

Hmmmm. Just don't get it. No noticeable benefits for me. Just a filmy build-up left behind that actually seemed to dry my hair out. I really DO like the rest of the Brilliant line, however. Softens, nourishes, and imparts a nice shine. Admittedly, the Brilliant scent is a bit on the strong side, but I actually like it. We are all different when it comes to aromas.

My all time damage control hair product

I use this on my hair post wash, pre style, and sometimes as a touch up with the Oribe super shine cream. I have always been a fan of this scent, if it came as perfume i'D BUY IT. I know some people say it stinks, I don't get it. I think it works well as a prep styler, my hair always looks soft and sleek and smooth when I spray it around my face where I get baby hairs and frizz the most. I have even started to buy the Brilliamnt gel. I guess some people have said the formula has changed but I haven't noticed a change and I have used this as my go to for over 12 years. Still that same wonderful scent and effectiveness.

Not great

I love Aveda products and really wanted to love this. I have long fine straight hair and found this product made my hair very difficult to comb through when wet. It also made my hair tangle easily in the day. I trying this on 3 occasions and each time I had the same result. I read one other review that said the same but everyone else raves about it, perhaps it only suits certain hair types.

Would not buy again, spray design not acceptable

I have several different bottles of hairspray & styling products with the same issue;I love Aveda. I love all of their products. I love the conditioner, but the pump design is ridiculous. Not only do I have to wash off the spout every time I want to use it, it squirts out everywhere. I understand the problem with aerosol and global warming, but this is ridiculous. Find a better way. Maybe I got a bad bottle, but it's incredibly frustrating. I've had this for so long and literally never use it only because it squirts all over my face and all over my floor and makes everything sticky. I think maybe one drop actually hits my hair
