Why cover the same area twice when you can sweep and mop AT THE SAME TIME. It's quick and EASY and you have the choice of using the washable cloth or the disposable cleaning pad! At least twice during the process I will need to clean off the base of the machine, as some of the dust bunnies get trapped into the bristles of the vacuum and don’t get sucked up, they begin to leave trails in the steamed floors… So, in my opinion this is a superb version of a steam mop plus vacuum and the quality of the finish left on the floor is the best I can find in a steamer- but it’s not yet perfect. I like that I can spray my product on the floor, and the steamer cleans, isn’t harmed by the product, and so I don’t have to use their synthetic scent! My Lemon Myrtle non-toxic cleaner scents the air and assists with stickier patches. A great compromise of features/weight/facility and excellent price.

I literally just received it and opened it. The inside looks a bit used but I still put everything together first. The vacuum works but the steamer never worked. I waited for 60 secs and it only had the clicking noise. After waiting for 10 mins, not a bit of steam came out. I then proceed to start the return and realized I had to pay $5 to return an already broken product. If I changed my mind, I understand that I needed to pay but I was shipped a defective product to begin with. Now I have to take my time and effort to put everything back together and drive to return the product. What a waste of my time. I thought Bissell is a big name company and I trusted it's products before but not anymore!

The steam mop does clean my floor, however I do not see the steam like it was shown in pictures. It says you must prime the steam but it doesn't tell you how. I checked through other purchasers and found out how to do this, so I am priming the unit by pushing the handle off and on several times. This product is by far impressive!! Not only does it collect debris efficiently, it keeps it separate from the wet mess others others have created. And even better it allows you to use it as a vacuum and a steamer separately, as well as together. Most of the products I've had in the past have always been very weak as well. Causing to frequently go over and over those really hard spots in my floor which had totally destroyed most of my hardwood. Things Bissell needs to improve: The vacuum suction started to wane after a few months of use in my pet friendly house even tho I empty often, and clean the mesh. The steam cleaning ability of this steam mop is WEAK. I had a HAAN steamer, and that thing was a powerhouse. I could walk behind it barefoot and feel the heat on my ceramic tiles, it got into the grout easily and for stubborn spots, only 2-3 passes would usually get the mess up. The pads were excellent at picking up and KEEPING crud, rather than the Bissel pads which get dirty with a few swipes and then you proceed to push dirt around your floor, rarely picking it up. I can use the Bissell, go over spots up to 16 times to no avail. I usually have to do 5-6 full cleanings of my kitchen floor (weekly, it's not like Im waiting months to clean) before the Bissell pads aren't picking dirt up (which also means you have to buy lots of their expensive low qual pads). It leaves streaks, too. I got a combo steamer/vac to save time, and b/c the steam cleaning ability of this steamer is so weak I find myself taking more time to clean my floors b/c of multiple passes. The HAAN and my reg vac did a better job and took less time, less passes, with less pads to wash.
OMG!!! I'm In LOVE with this vacuum/steamer. It works amazing and is literally effortless to use. The only negative feedback is that you can't turn the steam function off and use the vacuum function alone on carpet. You can only use this vacuum on hard surfaces, so you will need another regular vacuum for your carpeted areas. I finally feel like our home is getting clean with this vacuum, and it's obvious on the cleaning pads, and I feel good about that for the safety of my family. One other irritation is that Amazon did not sell the disposable replacement cleaning pads for this device, but they do sell the reusable washable ones. I guess that maybe you can order them directly through Bissell or somewhere else.
I am a big fan of BISSELL design and the steam mop follows that great design with easy access, power and weight distribution. The steam mop also has a powerful vacuum feature that pulls an excess water and dirt, hair and small debris. What a perfect add to a steam mop. Our hard wood floors in the kitchen, dining room, entry way and family room are looking great after holiday parties, pets and teenagers. The weight with water is not so heavy it is difficult to use. It is very maneuverable and the recommended demineralized scented cleaner gives the room a nice but not overwhelming smell.

When filling this with water, it’s hard to see the water line and I accidentally overfilled and thought this was leaking but it was operator error. I just wish the water compartment was see through so I could see exactly the water level to prevent from overfilling. Caring for my geriatric fur baby is much easier now. She has arthritis (as does her mom)and she has accidents where she misses her pads, or can't make it to the pad in a timely fashion. I also foster cats and dogs - who also have accidents. This product is an answered prayer for me. It's so light weight and efficient that I can clean up all the messes and all floors in my house in about 20 minutes whereas before it took an hour or more to clean the mess up with paper towels, then sweep or vacuum the entire floor then drag out the mop, mop bucket and make the disinfectant mopping solution, mop and wring out and try to dry floor quickly.
