Priced right Looping inputs Audio metering builtin Unless you plan on programming it with your computer, the $85 front panel controls are needed. I use it to monitor incoming and outgoing "The Switch" fiber feeds at the Superdome for NFL Network pregame shows

Worked well. Unit is built for mobile production and rack mount machine rooms so have to ignore the noisy fan.

I bought this to display different cameras (up to 4) on a large 4k Oled display. Works like a charm and I recommend getting the additional face panel for additional functions.

The BMD MultiView 4 absolutely does what it is supposed to -- take four video sources and output them in a 2x2 grid. And the fact that all four of those sources can be different resolutions and frame rates is impressive. But there are a couple of limitations to this product that I find curious... First, the SDI output only has a few different options for resolution and frame rate. Of those, probably only 1080i or 2160p29.97 are useful. But what about 1080p59.94? Or 1080p29.97? Certainly the hardware should be capable of those formats. 2160p59.94 would have been nice, but I can understand why that was omitted. Also of interest is that this product does not pass the metadata present in the SDI video streams on any of the inputs to the output. So if you're using BMD ... Also of interest is that this product does not pass the metadata present in the SDI video streams on any of the inputs to the output. So if you're using BMD gear and hope to put this between the output of an ATEM switcher and the input of a camera, you'll lose tally and camera control capabilities. Again, it would be very easy for BMD to fix, but they don't seem interested. Likewise, unlike the 16-input version, it also doesn't support on-screen tally boxes. Not via SDI nor Ethernet. Or GPI. That would be very useful. The other thing to note is that there is some processing delay of at least a few frames. So plan accordingly.
The MultiView 4 is great that is has Tally and Audio meters, but the audio meter on all 4 images only follows 1 of the inputs. Otherwise good product.
Best in its class. Simple and easy. Just plug and Play. No fuss! Great image quality. No degradation. Thank you Blackmagic Design Team.
It can show videos from 4 sources on one monitor. That's about it. I had eagerly waited for this product to be released so that I could do this but the edges of the pictures were getting obscured by the bezel of my (consumer) LCD monitor so I couldn't see the picture in its entirety from the cameras. Then I got the Decimator Demon-4S and wow!
Does exactly what it says it'll do and is easy to set up. Only been using it for a day so far, but happy with it.
the ui is nice and the teranex mini line of devices is well designed from a rack configuration perspective however, this device can not output 23.98p in 1920x1080. it only allows for progressive frame rates in 4k which is very confusing. another frustrating limitation is not being able to centre and stack your inputs if you are only viewing 2 signals. you are limited to the solo, or 2x2 layout. often times i am only running two cameras and i can't rearrange the layout for my clients to centre and vertically stack the images. for these reasons ill give this 3/5 stars. a firmware update to allow for 1920x1080/23.98p output and a two camera viewing layout and i would update to 5/5.
Have discovered that it's disappointingly low quality when monitoring either SDI or HDMI at 1080 50i ... lots of aliasing & jitter ... and if you put the same source in to all four inputs, you will notice that input 4 has the most lag and flicker (especially when compared to the other inputs). Don't get this if you are after high quality video monitoring ..
