Breville Super Q Blender, Brushed Stainless Steel

I absolutely love this blender! I purchased it to replace my 9 year old professional series Vitamix that still worked but you had to blend frozen fruit multiple times which wasn’t convenient. This Breville is a powerhouse and has no trouble handling frozen fruit! It’s so much quieter than the Vitamix but still noisy. Seems like it blends so much faster! Super easy to clean. Came with a personal size tumbler with its own bladed lid for a quick on the go smoothie. I would recommend this absolutely.

Average for the price

Let’s start with the good. This unit is very powerful and creates smoothies using the preprogrammed method. Three stars it works! The cleaning function is a good idea but you need to wash the unit afterwards because it’s not an acceptable clean. The power cord storage is a two star. It’s manual and you need to work it into place. I stopped using it more trouble than it’s worth. Stating that this unit is quite is misleading. Beautiful machine, but aggressively terrible lid design

Pros: This blender is absolutely beautiful in person - probably the most beautiful blender I've seen! The base seems extremely sturdy and well designed.Unfortunately, that's all I've got for pros.I'm really not sure what Breville was thinking with the blender jar lid design – it takes an incredible amount of force and technique to open the lid, and poses a challenge even if you're really strong. The pull ring does not give you enough leverage to remove the lid, and the design is such that the pull ring will inevitably break one day from repeated openings - it's just too much stress on that fragile clip. But there is no other surefire way to open the lid without damaging it or the jar. I haven't even come across another blender, high-end or otherwise, where it's this hard to open the lid. I for one would love to see, you know, the *other* high end blender manufacturer get some more serious competition, but sadly this blender ain't it. Maybe the next iteration of Breville's high-end blender can finally get it right.

Excellent blender + customer service

I don't post that many reviews but between this blender's features + really good after-sales customer service, I'm happy to give 5 stars for both. And a shout out to Mpho, Brenda and Rachel, the Breville customer service people I dealt with via email, who were all great.I bought a Boss blender (not this one) on sale from JB Hifi in Sept 2023 and it was faulty. It came up with 'Overload protection' most times I tried it, just wouldn't work. When I contacted Breville customer service a few weeks later & described the problem, they suggested swapping with the store & gave me instructions on how to make that easy.But by the time it was obviously a fault, JB had discontinued selling it. But have also used the main blender to make sorbets with my kids and it works as well as any blender I've had, and seems a little bit quieter than the Boss was too.So it's excellent blender, can highly recommend it. But even more importantly for me – given home appliances are expensive – Breville did an unusually good job at customer service and making sure I was happy, after an initially disappointing purchase. Misleading warranty

I bought this blender 13 months ago. Last week, the personal blender attachment started to smoke and had the smell of burnt rubber. Turns out, liquid was getting into the housing of the blade attachment. Contacted customer service and they said I need to buy a new personal blender attachment on the accessories page and that it is not covered by warranty. Seems to me that when the blade attachment leaks in such a short period of time, that should be a warranty issue! This would be a way cheaper fix for Breville than if the motor malfunctioned, but apparently the 10 year warranty that is listed on the product website is not for this part of the product. Have to love warranties that are so limited that they aren't useful! Should have bought a competitor's product!

Missing Essential Items

I am disappointed with what I received. I spent a few weeks researching deciding what blender to purchase. I decided on this one and was excited for it to arrive. It arrived today 12/6/23 only to be missing 3 essential items. The travel lid, the personal blender cup and the personal blender blade system. That is alot to be missing for what I paid for the Super Q blender. This is the first time, items are missing from a Macy's online purchase. I guess I will have to rebox it and mail it back. All I can say is be careful, you may not get what you ordered.

Mixed feelings

So I splurged for the Super Q, impressed with the warranty and the good reviews.The blender arrived promptly in a plain outer box, thank you, and very well packed. I knew it would be a tight fit under the cabinet, but I wanted to leave it out so I’d use it more. Well, it’s huge! Okay, I can pull it out to use it, but I’m pretty minimalist about my counters so it had better be worth it.Its first job was a frozen smoothie in the personal cup. I used the very helpful recipe book as a guideline to quantities, trying not to overload it with frozen fruit. Added a little protein powder and, nope—the frozen fruit got stuck. I had to unscrew the cup twice and scrape it. Finally it finished the smoothie, still faster than the old blender but pretty disappointing. I guess the cup would be better for a green smoothie without any frozen fruit. But I don’t really care about the cup thing. For some people it would be one thing less to wash, though you can’t really wash it with warm water on the blender.So second try, the jug. This smoothie processed just fine and I had the tamper and scraper at hand if needed, but they weren’t needed. Cleaned the jug on the clean cycle and perfectly happy. Much easier than the two-part screw off glass jug on the old machine. I’m still not the biggest smoothie fan (they just don’t sustain me for long) but I’ll have to experiment.Next, I used the blender to turn some cooked tomatoes into a puree. Yes, I included the seeds and peels since we agree at my house that peeling and coring is not necessary. The blender did a great job of obliterating the seeds and peels and tuning it into a beautiful sauce. Winner.This is a very nice, sturdy machine and not too noisy, relatively speaking. On ski mornings at 5:30 a.m. when the husband is still sleeping, I don’t want to wake him with the searing grind of my breakfast smoothie. So far I haven’t woken him despite sound carrying very well from the kitchen to bedroom. Must be the lower pitch. Clean up super easy. I think it will be powerful enough for most anything.I’m disappointed to learn that grinding nuts and such will spoil the expensive jar, so I may not try that. We’ll see. I had hoped for more uses for a blender, but this inhibits me from trying some of those uses. Didn’t have to worry about that with a glass jar. The controls are printed too small and without enough contrast so they’re very hard to read. I have to get reading glasses or a flashlight, even with under counter lights. They need to be backlit.I’ll leave the machine out for a while and experiment with more smoothie recipes. But eventually it’s going in the cabinet. It’s just too big and I’m not going to use it every day. I have mixed feelings about this purchase. I’m not sure how much of it is that I’m not a big smoothie drinker. Maybe it would have more value to someone who drinks a smoothie daily. I just wanted a blender that works well for a range of uses including smoothies. Based on reviews I’ve read, this seems elusive.

STRESS FREE KITCHEN WITH ALL MY SAGE APPLIANCES - THANK YOU

It required an additional enclosing unit and a vacuum type station that plugged in and sat uncomfortably to the side and looked more prototype like, it was uncomfortably on the eye. Admittedly, it wasn’t really a home kitchen top appliance, but more a commercial kitchen.Super Q has lived up to expectations and everything you read about it, it does. The additional vacuum unit is brilliantly easy and the very best thing I love is you fill the hub, press button and walk away! No standing with a cloth over the top of the jug, just in case and explosion of liquid occurs, and this is double downed if you also use vacuum, particularly with hot produce.5 stars well earned for machine, service and price

Super Q - Recommended

Having already purchased a number of Sage items: a Kitchen Wizz blender, Smart Grinder Pro and a Precision Brewer which have all served me well, when the time came to look for a new blender it only seemed logical to see what Sage had to offer and decided upon the Super Q. I have used this virtually every day since although only scratching the surface of it’s capabilities and can honestly say that it is impressive. I don’t think the noise is excessive but that is very subjective. One additional point that wasn’t a deal breaker but desirable was the personal blender attachment which enables me to make smaller portions.
