I could not screw the base to the faucet with the aerator attached, as it covered up some threads of the base. I attached the base without the aerator and it leaked. I then put another washer in and that did allow the base to be attached. I turned the water on and the filter blew off the base and water was all over my kitchen. I am returning it and purchasing a pitcher. I cannot drink my tap water and I don’t want to keep using bottled water. I wanted the faucet filter to avoid having to fill up a pitcher all of the time. I am not going to try any other type or brand of faucet filters. I anticipate nothing but trouble with them. I am disappointed.

The system was a game changer for 8 months, but even after replacing the filters on time, the system no longer functions as smoothly. The knob to turn from "filtered" to "unfiltered" was easy to switch for the first two weeks, but then it got very difficult to move the knob and it makes a creaking noise. After eight months the whole system started leaking. When I run the tap, no matter what the knob is set to, water comes out of both holes. This means the water pressure is low when washing dishes, and it takes FOREVER to fill a glass of water. Will I be buying another one? Yeah. Am I happy about it? I've bought two of these filters over the past year, first the plastic one, then the chrome one. They have both failed in the same fashion. Water will begin leaking and spraying underneath the plastic collar that connects to the faucet. This isn't an issue with the seal with the faucet, the water comes from under the collar. At first I thought the problem was the rubber washer, but you can't buy just a replacement, you have to buy an entire new unit. So I did. The new unit failed after about 3 months of normal use. In an attempt to reduce the leak, I tried to tighten the collar a little bit more by hand, when I did this the plastic connector that holds the collar to the unit broke, and the entire thing snapped in two rendering it unusable. Very frustrating that I wasted my money on this company twice.

Eeeek! I never expected it to make a geyser!
27 January 2022

The top of the filter assembly does not snap into place firmly when the faucet mount has been attached. I gave it 2 stars because it looks great, but when I turn on the faucet, the water pressure goes into the vertical filter holder and blows it right off, up into the air, leaving the faucet water gushing skyward like a geyser from a mountain top! I brought it back to Target after fussing with the installation for hours, and they accepted the return immediately. I wanted to switch from PUR to Brita, but now I'll have to probably stick with PUR. At least their components don't go flying off the assembly. No one is really making a good sink-faucet water filter anymore today. No one is really making a good sink-faucet water filter anymore today. The PUR dies after about a year of use, and now the filters PUR sells don't fit the horizontal sink unit I was going to ditch for this Brita vertical model, so water from my old PUR never comes out of the filter nozzle. PUR has a vertical model, and I'll try that instead, as it looks like it's one molded piece. Nothing to be "spit out" when the sink faucet is turned on and the filter switch activated, like the pop-off-top Brita vertical model. Too bad. Brita needs to manufacture the filter segment with internal screw threads, like the PUR model has, to keep it in place when the water flows into it from the kitchen sink.

Filter water
17 November 2023

Need to filter water for safe drinking. Decided to try Brita. System was easy to install. Warning on installing filter. I followed the directions but obviously the filter was not connected good. When I turned on my water the filter shot up off the facet almost hitting me in the head then landed in the sink. My dog is traumatized now because she saw and heard what happened. Now everytime I turn my water on she runs and hides. So make sure filter is installed properly. My Brita water system with filter is working as should now.

Great Water Filter

The Brita water filter system is your go to for clean and filtered water. The Brita filter is made to reduce the mercury, chlorine taste and/or odor you may have contaminating the water. The Brita filter uses built in changeable, cleanable, and reusable mesh screens that causes the blocks for the contaminants that may be coming through the stream. I bought my filter through a third party which was amazon. This was something I really needed last minute, when I got on campus my face was breaking out badly from the sink in my room. Amazon sent my system to me in no time. The seller also left me with the facts and although no water filter will 100% purify the water, the Brita does it 99%. It’s also portable and very easy to manage.

Had to replace twice
16 September 2023

Two stars because the water tastes great after filtration But that’s it…I bought this TWICE, the whole fixture, because the weak little knob broke upon turning. We only had it for 8 months the second time we purchased, and 6 months the before the first time we purchased. Also the filter itself would not secure and squirt water after a while, and it was still a clean filter…I’m Not a fan…save your money and get the PUR water filter. Works way better and both the filtration fixture for the faucet and the replacement filter are more economical than Brita’s. And the water tastes fresh, and PUR removes more ickiness from the water

It is a good product with a flaw.
7 February 2022

Transaction easy, delivery before promised. So far so good!Water tastes good and works as advertised. It is a good product with a flaw. All those complaints about the leaking are due to a flaw in the design. First of all, I had to accommodate the washer/strainer deeper in the nut so that threads come together, and then adjust it with pliers. If it wasn't for that I would have given it 5 stars. The problem is that the design of the nut makes too difficult to grab and adjust. To fix it, I took pliers and did it, but the issue is that I had the risk of marking the nut, thus voiding the warranty in case it did not work. Otherwise, the product is very good and that means around $400 a year or more in economy by not having to purchase bottled water.

Need better inspection process on returned items
13 August 2023

This was a replacement for an existing Brita filter of the same model after years of use.The first shipment was clearly a previous return and was damaged. Someone had apparently used pliers in an attempt to install it and damaged the installation ring, which is designed for hand-tightening, and also ripped the rubber gasket below the ring. The prior customer had clearly opened the box and was also damaged. I requested a return, and Walmart promptly sent me a replacement. The replacement arrived, and I immediately noticed that this box was previously opened as well as the box was mangled at each end. Walmart customer service advised me to keep both sets and discard them instead of shipping them back.I was very disappointed that Walmart did not inspect the previous returns, but instead, it appears as though they just placed it on their shelves to ship to the next customer. A better inspection process on returns would have probably avoided these issues.I finally replaced the unit by purchasing it directly from Brita.

Pour design of the water selection knob
17 December 2022

For the second time I've had the water selection knob on this model of filtration system crack off. The first system I had lasted several years. This second one was purchased on Feb 23, 2022 and broke tonight on December 17, 2022, after less than a year. Initially, the knob turned easily then gradually became much harder to turn. The system was never exposed to any harsh cleaning agents that could have weakened the plastic. I hesitate to purchase a third filtration system but I have a box of brand new filters and want filtered water every day. When this filtration system works, it's great.
