It's a great little unit but it has it's limitations. The software with it is a bit clunky and the size of the labels/internal housings could just be that little bit bigger for use with courier tickets etc. However it has filled a gap really well and I'm really happy with the cost effectiveness and efficiency it has provided my small business.

This label printer offers several label and print options each of which is simple to use. Many label choices (it comes with 2 sizes) and works perfectly. Our HP computers use Windows 11. The QL 800 is well - made; I am very satisfied.

I was keen to replace an existing label printer and was intrigued by the ability to print black and red labels. I didn't want or need the cost and expense of a full colour printer. The printer is a little bulkier than I'd expected - but then it can cope with some pretty large labels. Getting up and running was quick and easy and the P-Touch Editor software makes it easy to access the features. One of the things I love about the software is the ability to check the media in the printer. No longer do I need to open the printer up to check which label type is loaded. A small touch, but a very useful one. I've been impressed by the speed and print quality of this printer and would definitely recommend it.

Pros: Very simple to install and easy to use. Cons: The software for designing labels could be improved. I used a word document and then pasted into the label. Apart from that I am very happy with it.
I was a bit wary of buying this printer as the specs seemed too good to be true. I spent some time trying to get it installed on my windows 7 then tried windows 10 and went without a hitch. It is all it is claimed to be. Easy to understand artwork, fast and great colours, I tried to smudge the print but was impressed it did not budge. The included artwork is impressive also and easy to setup and print. The footprint is small and compact and will suit any busy office. For the price it is unbelievable, I would recommend it to anyone
Pros: Fantastic, perfect for printing shipping labels, easily handles QR codes for royal mail labels when print quality is set to high detail. Cons: Nothing major, slightly inconvenient that it does not come with a full width (62mm) black & white roll. It is only supplied with a black and red 62mm roll, and a black & white strip roll.
It simply doesn't work. Get error messages saying cannot communicate to PC, or wrong paper installed, or change ink settings, it also prints out 23 cm long for labels that are just 10cm. I tried changing settings but it is so complicated. all I wanted it to do was print a label from Sendle and it cannot do this. I have spent 3 hours looking at settings. It is not easy to use, nor intuitive if it can't print on the paper it came with asking me to reset ink settings somewhere in the outdated software it comes with.
I use the QL-700 at work and was so impressed I decided to purchase one of my own. I then discovered that there is another model (QL-800) that also prints RED.. wow I didn't even know that was possible! As it turns out, the chemistry on the thermal paper turns black at a higher temperature and red at a lower temp. But what I have learnt is that the red capable labels have two downsides compared to the black only labels. Firstly you will notice that prints on this paper will be of a lesser contrast and sharpness, not much of an issue for large prints but for small labels it's a bit annoying. Secondly the colour labels have a tendency to fade and turn brown-orange with time. I haven't experienced this with the QL-700 black only labels at work. Secondly the colour labels have a tendency to fade and turn brown-orange with time. I haven't experienced this with the QL-700 black only labels at work. I've included a photo of two test prints when I first purchased the QL-800 for home three months ago with round labels printed on the same machine which are Black only. So in summary, the QL-800 is not worth the extra money over the QL-700. Unless of course you want to print with red, labels that are large and only temporary. But still it's quite a big price difference for that feature. I simply got excited about it for no good reason. Because of the drawbacks I rarely use the red feature! I am also embarrassed to admit that an additional selling point for me was that the QL-800 has a subtle design change of the housing shape that I liked more over the QL-700. Well it's better I guess to think about these things with your wallet than your heart.
A friend of mine owns a candy shop, and I help him to get all the labels right. I was really impressed when I saw how fast and accurate the labels come out of the machine. It's so easy to adjust the size of the text so it fits, and it works so well with an excel database!
I bought a refurbished QL-800 and it works fine ! The only reason why I didn't give 5 stars is because the heating element that prints on the label seems a bit used and doesn't print the best quality UNLESS I put it on high resolution in the parameters, which makes it slower and louder compared to our older QL-700 that still makes high quality labels on standard quality parameter.
