After using the Brother Label printer QL-810W for a few weeks, I have concluded that this brand is dedicated to making the lives of their customers quick and efficient. At first glance the Brother Label Printer looked really complicated to assemble but after reading the instructions and watching a few YouTube videos, it was very straight forward. I love how it came with more than one print roll, which came in two different sizes and colour options. The amount of labels that can be printed and the size of the labels is very generous. To make things easier, the printer can be used with the Brother iPrint&Label app. This saves a lot of time customising labels, makes the printer portable and accessible, especially for users who may not have a laptop or desktop on hand. ... MoreAfter using the Brother Label printer QL-810W for a few weeks, I have concluded that this brand is dedicated to making the lives of their customers quick and efficient. This excellent addition definitely made the printer more exciting to use. From The app you’re able to add photos and text to each label. This makes the printer standout compared to other labels printers I have tried in the past. I really like the self cutting feature on this printer. It gives the user the option to cut each label individually or after the labels have been printed. Having this feature saves time and makes the printer more efficient. I’ve been using this printer to create shipment labels for my mother’s business and so far it’s exceeded all expectations and more. It’s quick, easy and more importantly it works well. The only negative point I have for this printer is that there isn’t many other label sizes that are compatible with this model, which is a shame. Meaning if I needed bigger labels, I would either have to buy another label printer or make my own. Overall, I think this printer is a great addition to any first time business owner and works as advertised.

I received this product for free from Brother in exchange for my honest opinion/review of the product. I received the QL-810w by mail and opened the package to confirm what was in the box. The unit was smaller and lighter than I had expected. The product seemed to be built well and durable, and the design was simple and straight forward. The instructions with the unit are very clear and include pictures and descriptions in case you need the help. With the instructions being so clear, the installation process into the computer was very fast and easy without any confusion. It has a really nice "follow the next step" process. With the instructions being so clear, the installation process into the computer was very fast and easy without any confusion. It has a really nice "follow the next step" process. After the software installation was finished, I installed the first of the two label paper rolls that came with the unit. The installation into the unit was simple and had a slot guide to help ensure that the paper was installed at the correct location. Fitting the label paper from the roll to the printer part was a bit trickier than expected, but it can be done. Once I closed the top, the unit fed the paper to the correct starting point and I was ready to print. The first thing that I noticed when I started to choose the font is that it actually had ALL of the fonts that were on my computer (even my specialized ones). This is one of the coolest features I have seen on a label maker unit. Others that I have used seemed to be limited to standard type fonts that you usually see anywhere. The setting before printing was as simple as printing a paper document. Type what you want, move it where you need it, and print. Then, it prints. The clarity of the prints was finely detailed and did not give that cheap fuzzy look that you see with other label makers. I tested multiple type fonts, from cursive styles, to bold and block styles, and for kicks, I even tested Wingdings. The printing quality was top notch! I decided to test it out with the other roll that came with the unit which was a continuous style roll. Changing the paper was easy, as once the new one was in, the unit recognized the size and adjusted accordingly. With the new roll, I decided to add in some clip art and basic pictures into the label and even changed the wording to red. Very simple and cool. The unit does seem to have a limitation of how detailed the pictures can be, and does not deal with shading very well, so it can limit the pictures you can use. I did attempt to connect the unit to my cell phone through the app available, and though I am saavy enough with apps, the actual connection never happened and I eventually gave up on it. But with taking all of it into account, the QL-810w is a solid unit with great quality and speed, and must have for personnel that has the need for quick organization and labeling of what ever need need. Pros: Easy assembly and installation Powered by both power plug and battery (very mobile unit) Wireless capabilities Clear and high quality Customization ability for size, font and other details Use of personal fonts (if you have some) Super fast print Cons: Some bigger black printing have red outlines Hard mobile phone app connection Continuous size label is hard to determine the size you need Overall: Its a great unit with a wide range of capabilities. Perfect for an office, or home business that deals with folders, filling, or anything that needs organization and clarity.

From my initial review I can say what a great product. I like it a lot. When I first used the Brother printer I couldn’t work out what paper roll to use for the type of label I wanted. It was just a case of understanding that there were a lot of sub headings to go into and working out the size that I needed. Now that I understand that you can change the font size or adjust the length for example. It’s becoming easier to use. The only thing I hope if possible to update the software and give more colour options than it currently has. Thanks

So, to start with after opening i love the size of the printer, nice size and fits on a desk easily, and even fits under my monitor well. I started off trying to get the printer working with my mobile, it wasn't a straightforward process, the app just couldn't find the printer, it took numerous attempts and took about an hour to setup. I'd be worried for someone who isn't a techie person setting this up. Unless they are going for the USB connection to a PC. The App itself isn't too bad, but the software still is typical of brother and a bit outdated and old-fashioned. I had some labels in the printer, but the app didn't hide the labels I couldn't print so i was left trying to find sizes i could print on the loaded labels. I had some labels in the printer, but the app didn't hide the labels I couldn't print so i was left trying to find sizes i could print on the loaded labels. Once setup though it is fairly easy to use, the quality of the labels it prints is really good, and I love the fact it can print out red too, really useful as I'm printing out visitor passes and is great to make the visitor logo stand out in red. Quality wise it's much better than using a standard Printer with an a4 sheet of labels. No waste, no setting up and calibrating, just drop in your labels and off you go. Overall, once its setup it's a great little printer and I can't wait to see how it holds up over the next few months. My only other thing I've not looked at yet is the price of labels, so that could be a make or break for this printer but overall a nice device once all setup.
After numerous tries at setting this up with our Wi-Fi I failed miserably and had to get my partner to help. This could be due to our signal extenders as my partner has an app for them on his phone and had it connected within minutes. Since getting it connected to the Wi-Fi and my phone I have enjoyed having fun with this machine and it has been a much needed addition to my craft room and has extended my craft hobbies too. Working in an unorganised office, I decided to take this into work and label and organise all our shared areas and this has help us keep the office tidier and now waste less time looking for something as everyone knows where things should be kept after use. While I had it at work I used it to update all our legal signs with legible information instead of someone’s smudged handwriting. In short I have used this printer to cover various tasks and also used it it to make card toppers in my craft room. It’s versatility is so useful in so many ways and areas of the home and office.
This is a great product. Initially the set up is quite fiddly but once that was sorted out it worked well. The wifi function means that I can use it immediately, from my iphone and my laptop. This is a huge feature which is extremely useful. The red and black printing works really well once you access the font colour, which I finally found in the software. As you are able to use battery’s with this product it means it can be used on the go and makes the product even more appealing.
I absolutely love this fast label printer fron Brother. I currently use it for making my own return labels. You can even print images on this, but in only one color, so it's gradient but still prett cool. You can set your own font and add borders. I hope to use it in my small business opening soon. Fits a variety of labes sized for all of your needs. No more handwriting return address or ship/mail to address.
I was surprised at the size of the printer when I first unpackaged it from the box however it’s lightweight and easy to take on the go, especially if your a small business owner. I found the instructions for installing onto a computer quite difficult to follow however it’s easy to use on a smartphone with the mobile app to create your labels. Quick and easy to set up the label reels and I like that you can use different sized labels in the one printer making it multifunctional. I also like the fact that you can either use it plugged into the mains or can install a battery so you can use it wireless making it perfect for taking to events where electrical sockets are limited access. I received this product for free from Brother in exchange for my honest opinion/review of the product. I was extremely excited to use this printer since I have never worked with a thermal printer at home for my online business and so far I really love it. When I completed my first print I honestly thought I did something wrong because it spit it out so fast. This thing prints immediately as soon as you press print! I like that the software provided gives you some templates to work with or you can design your own and use a variety of different fonts (including shadow and outline), justifications, text boxes, etc. You can also use two different fonts in the same label. It`s not just for shipping labels either, you can use it for pretty much anything that you`d need a label for! Brother provides two sample sized rolls to try out - one is the standard address (pre-cut) and the other is a wider width "white paper tape" which is very convenient if you are making your own labels since it will cut the label wherever you want and you can make many different sizes (great for shelf labels, name tags, and shipping stickers for fragile items. You can print barcodes as well, insert your own logo, and use clip art. On the downside, not sure if it was me, my computer or the unit, but it seemed to take forever to initially get the software set up. Then, I kept getting error messages regarding monochromatic printing (needed to turn it off, apparently it defaults to this so you need to turn "Two color mode" on) and then an error that it was set to high-resolution and I needed to change to standard. I would think that the black output and standard resolution would be the default and you would have to change it if you wanted anything else. Also the text color output is not "black" it`s that blackish red color, I`m assuming since the printer will also print red. All in all, I really liked this printer and will make a lot of use out of it, it does SO much more than a traditional label printer. It`s wonderful quality, the small design can fit in small work spaces and it also has the ability to print via a mobile app.
