An excellent all in one printer

It’s exclusively available at Officework stores. We bought it for home use after being tired with inkjet printers. Set up was easy. The laser printer as expected is giving nice quality prints both in black-white & colour. Speed is good. We can print from anywhere in the house via the wifi connectivity. Scan is good though it does only one side on its own. USB feature is quite handy as we can scan stuff & take in USB to work. I have also found emailing scanned stuff to ourself as quite handy. Brother iPrint & Scan app is quite useful. You can keep a track of how much of each of the cartridge is left. Cartridges are going to be expensive but for home & bit of office work, they will last long. Overall, pretty happy with this printer.

I like this printer a great deal. Its an ideal printer for a home office or small business with midlevel printed output the recommended duty cycle is 3001500 pages per month. The printer is not by any means small, and the box it comes in is absolutely enormous. This is a heavy printer, and may need two people to lift it. The printer is supplied with a complete set of 4 fullsized toner cartridges. This printer can take two sizes of toner manufacturer codes TN243 and TN247 roughly 1,000 pages at 5 coverage per cartridge, and 2,500 page coverage at the same level. The plastic its made from is matt and for the most part fairly pale in colour, although around the output, flatbed, and controls, theres a darker contrasting grey.I connected this directly to my router from the machine itself. Setting up in this way is slightly fiddly as the on screen keyboard is tiny, making selecting the correct characters a bit awkward. Apart from this, the printer has a fairly easy to use combination of touch screen and button interface, although it does feel a little odd to have to use a physical back button rather than an onscreen one. The screen is decent enough for the job it does but in quality terms not remotely comparable to the touch screen on a smartphone. The printer is supplied with a software installation disc, but can be downloaded from the manufacturers website if you dont have a drive indeed, as long as your broadband is decent speed, this is probably easier than faffing about with the usually outofdate software supplied in hard format with a new printer. I didnt need to install any new software as my preceding printer was from the same brand, and Id kept my software up to date to connect, I just sought out a newly available printer with my iMac, and it connected without issue. The software isnt always intuitiveas easy as it could be to navigate. Features such as doublesided or reduced quality printing arent available from the toplevel menu. Draftresourcesaving options could be made more prominent. You can also print to this from a smartphonetablet, if you install the Brother app. I have an iPad and an Android phone. The app was easy to install on both, and with this in place the printer could be identified immediately. The spacememory saving interface of the app isnt my favourite thing ever, but works reasonably well and even using this you have options to make resourcesaving choices such as printing multiple pages to one, and using the duplexing unit to print doublesided. The problems I have discovered with using the app to print are that this does seem to impose constraints on printable file size that arent present when working from my desktop, and processing files for printing can be quite slow.Output speed is a reasonably quick 18ppm at 5 coverage, though if duplexing function is used this does work rather more slowly. The copier function works really well, using either the flat bed or sheet feed options with A4 pages, and can also cope with reproducing book pages though thicker books need to be opened out well to prevent light bleed from turning the centre of a copy black. Adjustments to copying settings can be made fairly easily via the touchscreen menu.

That was not the reason to purchase or upgrade the printer is primarily intended for Word and related documents, web pages, a few PDF files etc.Initial outlay is low but toner replenishment will be a larger and potentially frequent outlay with other longerterm replacement of drums and mechanical components to follow.POSTSCRIPT While the colour output was good enough for most purposes, it was found to be far too dark when printing photos. It was found that the printer can selfcalibrate its colour balance the info is on Brothers web site. Once completed, the results were lighter in depth and much improved to the extent that it could make an excellent printer for display images and equal to many photoinkjets far better than some. There are glossy and pearlfinished papers intended for laser printers that will produce better results.

Don't buy this for duplex copy and scan

I used to love Brother printers. This is an expensive pile of junk. I do a lot of photocopying and scanning but it doesn't do double side automatic copying only manual and doesn't do double sided scanning. I saw another review which says you can download software that will allow double sided scanning but you still have to scan it and then turn it over. For a machine that looks like it does, costs what it does and says this in the description it is deceptive advertising as it doesn't tell you the whole truth. What a load of junk. I love everything about this machine! The setup was quick and easy, print quality is excellent, copies front and back, can resize images, and so much more! My boyfriend's dad had him scan and print some stuff for him on my machine and now he wants one too! Professional quality that fits in your home office. Toner cartridges last for months to years depending on how much daily printing you do, but they never dry up and stop working like inkjet printer cartridges. I can send and receive faxes at home now too! 😌 (That's a big deal for this old 46 year old woman.)

Our first Color Lazer and we are thrilled
5 January 2023

This has it all. Everything worked perfectly out of the box. Quick setup for my wife and she has not asked anything of me yet. Great color quality and sharpness. Fax sends & receives just fine. We have had this for a month now and no issues. This unit is heavy, so take note of that. The large paper capacity reduces the need for refill. The ink cartridges seem to be lasting as they still show almost full. We made this purchase as some other products make you buy all the inks when you may only need one or two. The app on my phone installed easily and my laptop software installed quickly and effortlessly. I have scanned to my pc without reading the instructions so I can confidently say this is intuitive. My wife is using all the features and has no complaints.

This is not a "Karen" review; I have genuine critiques regarding the performance of this printer. I work in prints quite literally all the time and it will be my full time job once I graduate. This printer is not necessarily budget friendly for a college student but it seemed good at first for me to try and investing in. The first printer that came to me had issues printing colors smoothly and with saturation. There were horizontal strokes of patchiness so I contacted Brother regarding this issue. My issues was with the performance of this printer. How can I receive two disappointing printers that don't work any better than my crummy HP inkjet printer that barely has ink? It was my fault for not contacting Brother sooner within my 30 day warranty they gave me, but I cannot express how much I'm deterred from buying Brother printers here on out due to this experience. Also, if you print directly from any Adobe program, the printer doesn't read any of my typography as vectors and prints it horribly. You have to save it as a PDF and then print it, if you're wondering. It's a black and white printer for general use now at my house despite all my attempts to change print settings and triple check the printer settings. You're better off getting a different printer or going to HP. Brother print app also need serious help it is not user-friendly and will benefit from making it a smoother experience. (EDIT: I've tried uploading this review multiple times turning off my adblocker and it's prevented me from doing so. I'm hoping this posts so people can understand that this printer may not be for them.)

I have been used Brother MFC 9460 till today. But it is getting old, making worse result, so I bought this one. Everything is as expected, like colour quality, built quality, etc. But I surprised with its slow speed to receive data! I tested with one large photo image and double sided affinity document. It takes more than a minute to receive data for each print. 10 years old MFC9460 made a print instantly-maybe in a a few seconds! I don't know why it takes lots of time to receive. If you are busy man, it might make you angry. If you have time to wait anyway, it works as you expect. One more thing I want to say is about colour adjustment. Very Impressed

After years of inkjets and their insatiable appetite for cartridges, blocked jets and so on. I decided to review my printing needs. One simple thing decided my choice - how often do I need to print photo quality images? Over the past 10 years I'd only used this function 3 times. My main application is business documents, so I'd rather fast crisp B/W with strong blended colours than photo quality. I researched all the top brands before purchasing and for the specifications and quality of build no other could touch Brother at this price point. I'd consider myself a low volume user, say up to 500 pages a year, so the price of toner didn't enter into the equation. I normally go through 2 sets of inkjet cartridges a year so this will work out cheaper for me in the medium ... MoreAfter years of inkjets and their insatiable appetite for cartridges, blocked jets and so on. Set up was very simple, add it to your network and any Win10 system will pick it up and print, there was no need to run a CD or manually download drivers. Android & IOS App's had much the same experience. Printing, copying & scanning is very fast with excellent quality full stop. Colour is great with presentation style documents. So far I have no complaints and remain very impressed with this solid performer. If I ever need to print colour photo's I can buy a throw away inkjet for less than $100.

The 9330 had performed well over the years until I bought a new Mac Mini and the Brother software wasn't compatible with the Big Sur operating system (without a lot of fiddling). I thought it would be a simple transfer, but the 3750's colours are horrible. There is a heavy yellow shift that no amount of colour setting adjustment can fix without putting all the other colours out of whack. I contacted Brother support and they stated that because Apple didn't support CUPS anymore, I had to make to do with the default colours. I downloaded and manually installed the old driver and instantly the colours returned to a more neutral pallet. The prints were crisp and balanced. A week later, a pop-up indicated new firmware was available and I installed it without thinking. The yellow is back and I cannot get rid of it even with the old software. It's very hard to get rid of yellow overload when your tools are red/green/blue adjustment! There are no alternatives from Brother and support seems to indicate that I should just make do with the default colours. I don't understand why the hardware is perfectly capable of beautiful prints but brother is not interested in providing software that will access the printer's capability. On the lookout for a new non-Brother printer...
