Controls poorly designed as they are very hard to see. The top chrome finished dial has small numbers with no visual contrast and the specularity (shininess) of the surface makes this worse. This product is not universally designed, which is a shame as visible controls (larger, high contrast from numbers to background) would not necessarily cost more.

This heater is just perfect because it doesn’t dry the air like conventional non oil based heaters. The warmth is soft and comforting like a blanket. I love the built in thermostat that locks the desired temperature. Since I live in apartment I leave it on 24/7. Very easy to use. Just perfect. Bravissimo Delonghi as always !!!

Bought what I thought was the most feature rich version. Turns out I would have been better off with the manual one. The ET version doesn't let you schedule. I can't even connect it to an external timer because it doesn't turn on from the switch. Quite disappointed. Wouldn't purchase this again. Mihht even get rid of this one.

Fantastic heater! Love the Dragon 4 - more than heats the room. Very happy with the arvo feature and the fact I can set the temp for my daughters room and never have to wonder what setting 4 equates to etc. if they’re on special even better value for money. Especially when you have such a long warranty period. Over the next year I’ll be swapping out all of our old heaters for this model
Well made and good looking, heating function is great. When you get to the programable thermostat things are complex, awkward to set and unstable. The timing dial is not easy to see and operate due to its low placement and the 15 minute teeth hard to determine. The thermostat temperature is more like a guess based on the click. If you want to set it higher than the current ambient temperature, one just assumes that you turn the dial to higher levels (the guide does not deal with the subject). Overall ok, needs some time to get used to if you want to use the advanced functionality.
This heater works very well to heat up my fairly small apartment, and I prefer the warmth that it radiates over a space heater that blows air at you, but this is a preference. I previously owned one of the more basic models of delonghi, and don't really notice the benefits of the Dragon in terms of heat, though it does look more modern. I like that I can easily set the temperature, but haven't used all of the timers and auto-settings but they are a nice feature, though I wonder if they add to energy use? I'm happy with my purchase but the basic, cheaper model also does the job for those on a budget.
Works really well to heat up our big freezing bedroom with lots of glass. Our previous oil heater on top settings couldn’t get the chill out of the air. This one we use on lowest setting most of the time and around 21 degrees. Like that you can set temp by degrees. Silent and less drying than other electric heaters.
I didn't know much about the oil heaters and I didn't particularly think they are effective. I find this heater to be highly effective, without having to turn up to high heat. It lets out a comfortable heat that doesn't dry the room out, is quiet (unlike a blow heater) and you can comfortably leave on all night without it overheating the room with a doona. I am really surprised and ended up purchasing a second heater to heat my second bedroom as in winter it is normally about 2-3 degrees overnight. I turn it on 16 - 17 degrees and have a comfortable sleep as it just heats the air and takes off the chill.
I bought this thinking it could heat my open plan family room area but it is not that powerful. It radiates heat upward so even sitting next to it provides little warmth in an large open area. However it is portable and works well to heat up smaller spaces like my bedroom and study.
This heater has all the controls you need to ensure your room stays the right temperature at all times. The timer functions are prefect, allowing both automatic turn off and automatic turn on. And the thermostat works perfectly to keep the room at the right temperature without making it too hot or cold. We leave this on in our toddlers room all night, at a setting of 18 degrees on the lowest power setting and it keeps the room the perfect temperature all night, allowing him to get a goodnight's sleep. We've bought 2 of the exact same models now. A bit on the pricey side, but i envisage that we will not need to buy another heater for a very long time. Great product.
