DEWALT 20 VOLT MAX BRUSHLESS HANDHELD BLOWER

I almost purchased the 20/60 flex volt blower but like having several spare batteries. After seeing how much those batteries cost, I decided on the 20v max because I already have several 6ah & 3ah batteries. This blower comes with a 5ah battery & charger. I used this blower for the first time with one of my 6ah batteries. Using the supplied concentrator attachment, blower ran for 15 minutes & battery charge indicator still showed 2 out of 3 lights. The trigger is excellent allowing a good range of speed from very light blowing to full power. I have a Shindaiwa backpack blower for super heavy or wet debris that no handheld blower can compare to, but this Dewalt 20v max handheld blower has excellent power for doing most light to medium jobs. Also, this blower is very well balanced & comfortable to use. I definitely recommend this blower as it is of excellent quality & has a brushless motor that are superior to brush type motors.

But got tired of dragging a cord around all the time so thought I would give the Dewalt blower a try since that is all I have for power tools. I have both 18 and 20 volt. After blowing light snow with this the blower it just quit after 15 minutes. Thinking I must not have had the battery charged completely, I put in another (6Ah) battery and the same thing. I have owned Dewalt tools for thirty years and never have I been so disappointed in a Dewalt tool. I’d send it back but no longer have the box. I can’t believe Dewalt even let this thing out of the developing shop. Tom

Great Blower for a Reasonable Price
20 December 2022

Bought this to replace a 10 year old echo blower. It works great. Just did 6 to 8 inches of snow effortlessly. The only real weight is the battery. The blower without the nozzle works best on snow. Gives a wider path and moves a larger area. The blowing power is actually quite good compared to my other gas powered blowers. Big plus no mixing gas and smelling like gas when you are finished.Another plus quiet enough the neighbours won’t get excited.I would give it 5 stars except it should come with the 10 ah battery not the 5 ah battery. The 5 ah battery lasted roughly 15 minutes of variable time while the 10 ah lasted roughly 27 minutes with 1 bar left on it.Not really a big issue if you are already married to the DEWALT brand and have extra batteries around. As ... MoreBought this to replace a 10 year old echo blower. Great blower but short battery life is expected
5 June 2023

Bear with be, this is a bit long and technical. Here's the deal, there are many reviews on the short battery life, but understand this isn't for fall cleanup of large areas. This tool works great for clearing out the garage, walkway, small driveways, decks, etc. I'm glad DeWalt chose high power over something that can't move much material...you need CFM to get work done. Now the point I'm making, is if you want to move ALOT of air, that takes, ALOT of power. Think of a boat in the water, it takes ALOT of power to push a vessel through the water, if you own a boat you know what I mean with fuel burn. The same applies but to a slightly lesser extent with moving air.Gas blowers are what's needed to clear large areas, why do you think the big blowers have up to 70CC ... MoreBear with be, this is a bit long and technical. Here's the deal, there are many reviews on the short battery life, but understand this isn't for fall cleanup of large areas. The same applies but to a slightly lesser extent with moving air.Gas blowers are what's needed to clear large areas, why do you think the big blowers have up to 70CC 2-stroke engines?? Not for trying to be loud, that's what it takes to overcome high air pressure and volume...AIR IS VERY RESTRICTIVE!. Something to think about if you want to go all electric.I also wish the battery life was better, but I can clean up my areas in a few min. The 450 CFM is nothing to sneeze at, that's a fair amount of air for a single 20V pack. This blower also dries the vehicles after a wash, gets the water out of the trapped areas. All in all, it's very handy to have around the house, shop, garage. Much easier than firing up a gas blower for small cleanup jobs.I just think many people don't understand how much power it takes to move air, if you want more run time, you will need to go with at least electric.

Total disappointment. Nowhere near the power they claim.
18 December 2022

I have Dewalt tools and I've always been satisfied with them. Since I'm part of the battery family I figured I would add this leaf blower. This tool is a total disappointment and I'd say their claims on 125 MPH speed and 450 CFM are outright lies. I have a 56V Worx leaf blower that has a 125 MPH speed and 465 CFM volume and there is NO comparison. The Worx tool just blows the Dewalt tool completely out of the water. They are not in the same league. I thought that since the specs were listed as almost the same that Dewalt had found a clever way to overcome the lower battery voltage using a 20V instead of a 60V. This is not the case. The tool is massively underpowered and it drains your 20V batteries within minutes. This tools isn't worth the money at all.

Very short battery runtime - less than 15 minutes
4 August 2023

I bought the DEWALT Blower with great excitement, even though some reviewers gave bad reviews about battery short runtime. This product has 1,777 reviews, but not many complains about battery issue.Unfortunately, I have a very short battery runtime with battery Dewalt 2Ah. After a fully charge, they last less than 15 minutes!!! I had to use my cord Toro blower to finish off the remaining task.Am I having a bad blower? What should be the NORMAL runtime for Dewalt 2AH battery? I am considering of returning this product and looking for something else.

HiUsed this blower as a lightweight unit to clean up dirt and various yard debris that got on patio, driveway and deck...etc. It was awesome tool to do the light work w/o having to crank up a gas-powered blower. Had it for about a year and everyone loved it. Well, it's great when it works.I have had many Dewalt tools, saws over the years and always got great performance and durability out of them. Well, this blower is not one of them. It no longer works. Very disappointed. It looks like a brand-new tool, but just quit. Will not respond when I pull the trigger. Replaced batteries with fully charged ones that work perfectly on the other 20-volt tools I have. It's not rocket science, it just died, and I am not sure if it's still under warranty or not. Works fine for what I need one for.
12 November 2022

I bought tool only because I have so many Dewalt tools and batteries and chargers. It just wouldn't make sense to buy a different brand, just because it outperforms this one. Then I'd have one battery, one charger for one tool, and that would be costly. I don't blow leaves. I mow leaves. Way better for the 3 acres I mow. I use is to dry off cars after washing, cleaning off work areas without having to carry an air tank from my shop. It's just handy as heck. If you are into blowing leaves then buy a gasoline powered blower...unless you have a really small urban yard. You want to blow off your sidewalk or driveway after mowing, this will work fine. It's light, well balanced with 4,5,and 6 amp hour batteries. I like it. It's just handy!

powerful, light weight and convenient. I love this blower and would easily have given it 5 stars but the other day the end of it came off and the plastic cap in the end had come loose. I have super glued the end twice now and the black end of the blower tube keeps falling off. It has become really annoying. I always carry a spare battery with it because it pulls a lot of juice to run the fan motor. I would still recommend it after dealing with previous gas blowers and carb issues and non start issues with other blowers. it is nice to pop a battery on this and go. I take it in my RV to clear the slides and the patio areas where we camp. Just a heads up I love the Dewalt DCV501HB vacuum for my camper as well.
