I purchased the 20V MAX XR 5Ah Battery (2 PK) to go with the new 20V MAX XR Drill/ Driver kit (#800 drill, bag, #112 charger and 5Ah battery) tonight at Home Depot. The battery that came with the drill is fully charged according to the charger, but only one of the state-of-charge LEDs will light up. Tried the LEDs in the still-sealed two pack. Both would not show more than one. I am not taking any chances. This whole mess goes back to the store first thing tomorrow.

I need the battery for my many DeWalt tools. However, I had two relatively new DeWalt batteries that just stop working and could not be recharged. They are very expensive and it hurts when early life DeWalt batteries decide to die early. Sadly enough too, it had to be my 5Ah batteries that died, but my much older 2Ah batteries are holding in there still. So yes, Im beginning to regret I gave up on electrical chord wired tools, since they never failed me.

The Dewalt Lithium-Ion Batteries are the best that I have ever used. I chose this 5Ah Lithium-Ion battery for big projects. I can use any tool powered by it all day, on any job and it doesn't let me down. Dewalt provides the batteries for big jobs and for smaller jobs. If you are working on a smaller job, choose smaller batteries because they are somewhat lighter. If you are working on a larger project, this is the battery for you! It won't let you down in the middle of your project! The absolute best batteries and they are priced very affordably!

This is the second Black and Decker Matrix 20V drill/driver I have owned. I have the circular trim saw, jigsaw, sander, router, oscillating tool, reciprocating saw, impact driver and hedge trimmer/shear attachments. The ease of changing from one tool to the other during small to medium projects is WONDERFUL. If you are a house builder/contractor, then this is probably not the tool for you, unless you have areas where a lightweight, cordless tool with changeable accessories is useful. For those small to medium home/hobby projects that need several different power tools, the MatrixBlack and Decker Matrix 20V drill/driver is an excellent choice! For those small to medium home/hobby projects that need several different power tools, the MatrixBlack and Decker Matrix 20V drill/driver is an excellent choice! The first Matrix I had was the first generation design, and cutting major (3 to 4 inch) limbs with a 10 inch wood blade in the reciprocating saw attachment, while swapping batteries to allow running for long cutting sessions is really a job for a chain saw. The dust and heat were too much for my gen Matrix (it really is a good idea to blow the dust out of the unit every once in a while, nad let it cool off!). As soon as my first Matrix was brutally "done in", I had to get another one as soon as possible. The new generation Matrix has more ventilation openings as well as an LED light that shines on the work area when the trigger is depressed. I highly recommend the Black and Decker Matrix 20V drill/driver and attachments.
I just bought the battery blower in September as I didn't like the inconvenience of electric. I'm really disappointed in the quality and the battery life. The charge maybe lasts 20minutes and the front tube continually falls off the main part even after I hear it click in. I have the 20v 5 AH battery. I was going to buy a separate battery but now may look for alternatives.
I got these since I saw a video review that the 5ah were the best value for the money compared to the one below and above. I haven't used them enough yet to give a better assessment with personal experience. I do have one battery in a DeWalt pressure washer I got and so far I had used the 4ah batteries with it that I had for a drill / driver set, I got these in hopes they would have more power lasting for longer as well. I'll have to test them in the same way to see if the power washer works longer drawing water from a bucket.
UK review. Used these in my strimmer DCM561 and whilst cutting thin low grass and after using my DCM564 mower both recommend 5ah upwards batteries. These didn't last longer than around 15 mins so had to keep charging. Cycled around 5 times from new. I've been using lower spec older DCB182 4ah batteries lasting around 22 mins. Dewalt limit warranty being non UK products. I have DCB184 5ah 18v UK batteries which also last longer than these 20v. Maybe I had a lower cell quality. The 20v were 2023 versions.
Glad I found this tool at Menards years ago. I have many of the attachments and am just tickled everytime I find a new use for it at home and especially at the cabin. I own 2 that work which is a blessing because I can have two at a project with different attachments and or drill vs driver, etc. Since you never know exactly which tools to bring to a project this is an excellent choice. I ran over my 3rd one but keeping for parts and the additional battery. Is it a Dewalt, No but the versitality of one power head and since I'm not a contractor who needs a big name for what i need. I think I would be a good salesman to go into stores and demonstrate this product like they orignally did at menards when I bought my first one.
Half of my battery powered tools are the older DeWalt style and my second set of original NiCad batteries have now failed. I recently bought adapters which came with two 2 Ah batteries which are too small a capacity to get much done. I ordered these 5Ah models for more capacity. I have only used them a few times and they appear to provide much more working time as would be expected. I only rated these 4stars because the plastic welded package they arrived in was cut open and I wasn't sure if they had been used. They look new and unused. I will continue to use them and provide more information after I put them through more rigorous use.
So I bought the big DCF899B impact wrench and this DBC205 battery. The new battery's fuel gauge shows 1 light of charge out of the package. I put it on the DCB112 charger and it flashed dual red lights twice, then added the orange third light for a second then went to solid dual reds signifying a full charge. I also put it on a DBC107 charger with similar results. This is disappointing. I'm wondering if I should return this wrench and battery before adding more yellow tools to my collection. Two of my buddies switched over to the red brand of tools. If a battery doesn't charge right out of the box, how can I give it get any stars for anything? I have a couple of brake jobs planned for this weekend. Guess I'll just be busting my knuckles one more time. Happy to ... MoreSo I bought the big DCF899B impact wrench and this DBC205 battery. I didn't want to switch to red, but the reviews on this product are terrible and this is so frustrating! Hope to get some kind of response.
