e.l.f Mineral Infused Face Primer

The e.l.f mineral infused face primer is a good product to have as a beginner or intermediate makeup user. This product states to fill in fine lines and end with a long lasting matte finish. This product also states to apply to clean skin prior to application. I have used this product for four months and so far my experience with it has been pleasant. I have tried this product with a clean and prepped face, and also without a prepped face. I highly recommend preparing your face with a cleanser and moisturizing cream, and even a serum before using this product, this allows your primer to adhere to your face and sit comfortably, as well as fill in the lines as the primer states. I do recommend waiting for a minute or so to let the primer stick comfortably on your skin before adding foundation just so that it adheres to the skin properly on the other hand when I have tried this product without my face being prepped, the primer and foundation began to peel and clump. And again it does state in the directions to give us this product on clean skin, which I do recommend this product feels lightweight and somewhat like silicone, there is little to no smell if anything it smells clean.

I LOVE Elf primer. It can get a bad rap for being greasy, but here's the thing - if that happens you used WAY too much! One full pump is too much primer. You only need the smallest amount because it applies so easily. I have used both original and poreless and love them both. Make sure you are exfoliated and well moisturized. Let that dry for a few min. Apply primer and wait a few min before applying foundation. I have gone 18 hours without my fave budging an inch. This stuff is bomb.👍

Great if you like a very matte finish

Bought this only yesterday after reading lots of positive reviews; sadly, I have to disagree. It has left my face very flat, looking dehydrated and cakey looking. I've used alongside my usual, The Ordinary serum foundation, which gives a great natural glow; but not with this primer! Sad that I paid £9 for it and won't be using it again. If you love to glow, this is not for you! Can't comment on the staying power of makeup as I sadly won't be using it, regardless of how good it is.

I have been using this for over a year & it is really great! I have textured skin from constant battles with breakouts and was on the hunt for a smoothing primer to help smooth the aftermath of my damaged skin under makeup. This is the one. When using this I only need the tiniest bit to smooth over the texture. I let sit for a few before applying my foundation and makeup. It makes a huge difference on the smoothness of the look of my skin when I use it. I can def tell a difference if I don’t use. If you need a smoothing primer under makeup, I highly recommend. I want to note that I also have huge pores in my t-zone, but I use a pore filling primer for that area. That is not what this primer does. Made me break out and I normally have nice skin.

I liked how smooth it went on and made my skin soft, but it made me break out like I was a teenager!! Not a good look.. :/ I purchased this because it’s supposed to be “clean”, but I have to wonder. I use a lot of different products on my face, and this is the only one that’s ever made me break out. It didn’t do much except make my skin feel soft. Not great for blurring pores or making skin look flawless like primers are supposed to. I would not recommend this and I have to wonder if Elf is a “clean” cosmetic line as they claim to be. 🤷🏻♀️I was disappointed in the product, then when I returned it to Target, I was only given a partial refund? I’m not sure why that happened either! Not a good experience all the way around.

beginner friendly primer

i decided to include a primer amd setting spray into my makeup routine.i have chosen to test this primer and when i received it, it came wrapped in a sticky bubble wrap. bubble wrapping is good however, the type of bubble wrap used was a sticky one (perhaps so as not to have to use tape). however, the sticky bubble wrap left a sticky residue on the primer bottle and on my hands. perhaps iherb can take not of this as it should be easily rectified.as for the product, it has a transparent gel type texture in a pump bottle. it definitely feels slippery/ oily due to the dimethicone which is a silicone. i would suggest to let the primer sit on the face for a couple of minutes before applying foundation.it has a mild powdery / floral scent.
