Amazing For Fixing my Very First World Problems

Plugged in to my PC and it popped up on OBS right away. One simple issue of an audio delay but that was really quickly fixed by a 2 minute YouTube tutorial. Fantastic capture card and well worth the money spent. I can not only stream all my consoles (provided they have HDMI) but also view, in fullscreen, whatever I have plugged into it through my PC and now don't have to use two pairs of headphones when playing my Switch and using Discord to talk to my friends. I also don't have to switch around HDMI cables anymore which is a GODSEND. 10/10 for convenience, easy to plug in and use, and functionality

Far from Perfect Streaming. Amazing not Perfect Recording.

I've played with a few screen capture devices. Honestly if you're doing PC capture... Don't go here... Stick with your Nvidia Shadow Play or AMD ReLive.... It's just easier and better. HOWEVER if you want to capture your console plays at home... This is the babe for you. Quick setup, easy to use and hell... Even it's streaming addon isn't bad even if it's quite primitive at it's current state, which will obviously evolve slowly. (but stick with OBS)What does it do that others don't- NOTHING... Maybe make you age a little quicker. I am a huge fan of Avermedia products, and they will always be my first love... But I decided for my PCI option, to go with the Youtube promoted Elgato. I regretted it a lot at first, but now having fixed it's weird bugs to communicate ... MoreI've played with a few screen capture devices. Honestly if you're doing PC capture... Don't go here... But I decided for my PCI option, to go with the Youtube promoted Elgato. I regretted it a lot at first, but now having fixed it's weird bugs to communicate properly with my system... It's going great. Audio is still a huge problem, and that isn't very cool... It's very intermittent which is just as uncool, because diagnosing the problem is bloodyf**************tripletime**********holy********************************************xpialidocious. But you can work around it. Do yourself a favour, and don't uninstall the device driver ever. Just don't.Pros: Video is Lagfree... If 0.03234235234 seconds don't matter to you. H.24 Encoding on board. 60Mbps bitrate, if you think you can handle it. Flashback Recording and Master Copy is actually amazing. In Particular the Master Copy... Giving you a *.ts file with a ton of options... Separately saving your Gameplay, Webcam, Graphics and many different audio inputs (i think about 12) depending on how you set it up. Which is great to "play" with your friends voices... Especially everyone's friend xXx420blazeitxXx who always has his audio so low due to his crappy generic headphone mic, constantly hearing his mum telling them to go to bed and when he get's "red shelled" always distorts from yelling at everyone and then rage quitting.Cons: Audio is not Lagfree... When you are hearing it live. You really need to find your sweet spots with the whole thing... You also need to spend 800,000 (not an exaggeration) hours playing with it to get it right to work with all of the inputs it says it can handle... Which it can't... But there are work arounds. (okay maybe it was a little bit of an exaggeration.) Say hello to Reaper, Audacity and/or Audition. (or any DAW.) There is also a really terrible bug, that if you uninstall the drivers... You will probably have to reinstall Windows to get it communicating with the device again. They say this is a Windows Signed Device issue... But clearly... It's an Elgato Driver issue... And maybe they should suck it up, and fix that. There are several other issues, that are easy to fix, that seem to be best if you discover them, as it wont happen to everyone.Overall: It's a good device, a little pricey, but has some great stuff in it. The Master Copy alone is pretty gosh dang great.

Love it.

Notice: this particular model installs INSIDE of your computer. If you want the one that just plugs in between your wii u and your TV you need the other model. I did not know that until I picked up my elgato hd pro 60 but I easily installed it myself and I've never even seen the inside of a computer before. Keep in mind that your computer needs to have the proper port inside also. I got this elgato so I could record myself and my son play games and after hooking it up it displayed on my computer like it should but as it turned out my computer does not meet the minimum specifications for RAM and processor speed so I couldn't actually use it yet. Customer service is fantastic. I called them to help me get to the bottom of my problems and they were friendly, patient ... MoreNotice: this particular model installs INSIDE of your computer. Make sure you have A LOT of space on your motherboard.
25 March 2020

This doesn’t work with laptops at all. But I thought luckily I still have a gaming PC I can use.You need to plug the elgato directly into your motherboard. I have 4 sticks of RAM & my graphics card sitting in there. The only place I could plug the elgato in to was directly underneath my graphics card, which there are 2 fans spinning when turned on. This would churn up and directly hit the elgato. Please before ordering, make sure you have a lot of space between bits on your motherboard.IT DOES NOT WORK ON LAPTOPS!Will be returning.

Good Points: Does what it says on the box, easy to install in pci slot. Good info on Elgato website. Much easier than using two pc’s also lots of advice on YouTube whether/how to use Elgatos software download to stream or OBS Streaming software. Note best not to use OBS Studio software unless your a serious gamer/geek. Both above downloads do the same job though there are subtle differences.Improvement Points: Nope.

Ive used many capture cards throughout the years but this one has me stumped. Constant no signal on this card from the ps4 on multiple motherboards. Yes, hdcp is off. Currently waiting on Elgato to reach out to me for help. Can’t recommend this card yet. Staying positive though. Maybe i just got a bad card.

Been using elevators since the original elgato, had the Og elgato, hd60s , hd60 pro and now 4k pro. The best capture cards easy to install and software is super easy to use. I use this for my dual pc streaming setup and the passthrough is instant and seamless. Audio easy to get working on 2 pc setup also you can’t go wrong with this card

no Linux support
16 May 2020

Linux recognizes it but there is no open source driver, and even VFIO passthrough didn't work, I just got an error, I think it was 27 but don't quote me. I know, I should have checked compatibility before I bought it, I'm not complaining just giving you a heads up actually. OK, I'm complaining a little bit, too. It's 2020. I don't remember the last time any hardware completely didn't work in Linux, but it's definitely been years. I even know "gaming" is pretty much the last computer function to have Linux support, but this was still a little disappointing. /rant
