I purchased this, what must be now 3 years ago now and have it matched to an Alvin Workmaster Drafting Table (4'x6') holding an older Double Sight DS- 263N. The monitor is listed as 23 pounds, unsure if that is with or without the stand. IIRC it is specced to hold "Apple" 30" type displays. Remember to account for the base being removed when determining the weight. At it's maximum vertical high position the bottom of the 263N has about 4.5" of clearance. I usually have the height closer to 2-3" of clearance during normal use. This could be increased easily if a block of some sort were used at the base as there is a large amount of room for the foot to incorporate thicker desks... Up to, if needed, about 3" thick Comes with all the hardware you need to mount, no need ... MoreI purchased this, what must be now 3 years ago now and have it matched to an Alvin Workmaster Drafting Table (4'x6') holding an older Double Sight DS- 263N. I made up a custom pair of aluminum foot plates to protect my drafting table but that isn't really required for normal mounting/use. In theory I could still have it mounted while my drafting table were in a tilted position since at the screen join there is tilt and swivel junction.

This is a very high quality product, and moves very well once the weight settings are adjusted. This is great for any larger monitors that are bigger than 27 inch. Would just like to add though: Like many other monitor arms it's simply way too low, even the maximum height. So what I did was to make a couple of modifications at either end to increase that. This does not actually modify the arm itself, just the things the arm is attaching onto (the desk and the vesa mount). See photos for mods. For the first mod, that was raising up the vesa adapter. Well there were already these 2 metal rails in the ergotron mx box which were not being used for anything else. So then it was just a case of finding some more 100mm vesa mount screws (they are just m4 screws). Plus a couple of M4 nuts to go on the other side for the bottom 2 of 6 screws that otherwise are not be screwing into anything at the bottom of the metal rails. 2nd mod was just to insert some blocks of wood to maximize the clamp height at the base. It was also necessary to flip over the bottom plate of the clamp itself, to get some extra height. The thing that screws in and out. Which (when it is upside down), then fouls / conflicts with the edge of the desk top. Because it's so thick, the metal. But still it remains very strong attachment, regardless of that.

This is a very high quality LCD arm. It doesn't say that it's commercial grade but after you had a chance to use it, you just know this thing was meant for a demanding work environment. I didn't need it for the workplace though, I just needed an LCD arm to get rid of the clutter on my desk so I could place my 5.1 speakers. I figured that since this LCD arm could hoist a maximum of 30lbs, it must be of exceptional quality and assures me that it won't go to waste if I upgrade my 22" to something larger in the future. Be mindful that if you get this mount make sure it weighs 14lbs to center the VESA pivot as it's on a tensioned spring which arcs the VESA mount about 45 degrees. I was fortunate that my 12.7lb LCD centered the VESA pivot with the tension screw at the lowest point. You can have it at the 45 degree angle if you want by adjusting the VESA mount tension spring. One more thing adjust the spinal tension (check manual) so the arm can be lowered without reverting to maximum height.

I got it for under $100 so I do recommend it. However it is worse than the AmazonBasics brand because of a lack of range of motion. It looks great and it VERY sturdy but it doesn't go as high as I would like and the joints are stiffer making adjustments a little harder than the structure of the AmazonBasics arm.
The arm itself is great. Excellent quality. The difficulty I'm having is that my wife has Parkinson's and neck problems and I need to get the computer screen lower that the table top. So I wish the arm could go lower. I will jury-rig something to get it lower. It just needs to be solid as I am supporting an iMac with the arm. Thanks for a quality product to work with.
The was bulkier/heavier than I expected. Way harder to install than I had hoped. And I can't quite seem to get the monitor height up to my desired height. I am tall, and I feel this sits too low to the desk. I do kind of regret this purchase.
Mounted an Acer Predator X34 Ultrawide monitor on this and was a bit worried that the weight would be a bit much. It holds this beast wonderfully with no issues. It is very well built from high quality materials and is just what I was looking for.
I use this with a Cintiq 27QHD tablet. I'm giving it 5 stars because it's a solid piece of engineering and it mostly does what it is intended to do. Super convenient, makes my life easier and feels cool and futury. I would definitely buy it again. I would dock half a star maybe, although I know the Cintiq isn't this thing's intended purpose: When using it as a tablet, I can't actually get the bottom of the Cintiq to rest on the desktop past a fairly steep angle. This is fine for drawing on a mostly vertical surface, but and the other problem is... when not braced against the desk, touching the tablet (or even shaking the fairly substantial industrial desk I have) makes the screen wobble. I've worked around this by placing various pieces of 2x4 under the front edge, and it is a workable solution. I'd just like to have that tiny bit of extra range of motion that would allow the tablet to sit somewhat more flat.
I have a 27" monitor attached to this. It's pretty heavy, this was the only monitor arm in this style that could handle the weight. I'm a big fan of Ergotron products and have used there monitor arms professionally for many years. If you want reliable well made products, they are a good source. The only negatives I have for this product are I wish it would extend vertically a little more and the detentes that prevent it from swiveling around the base could be a little more generous. Because it's so heavy it does not move around as you type, effectively absorbing vibrations from the table top.
Yes this arm works with monitors over 27" and 24 lbs.. Worked well with the Apple Cinema LED. Instructions are not very clear. After installation and Monitor in place it dropped down in height and in tilt. It wasn't until I read in small print on the back page how to increase tension. This should have been displayed with clear wording and not on the back page. But after tension was adjusted then it all worked fine. There should really be another proper tool to be packed with it. Some people do not have tools. And Adorama seemed to have taken it out of it's original box and just packed it a brown box. So when it was opened half of the pieces came falling to the floor and 2 plates are very heavy.
