Superb piece of kit! Happily split 16inch diameter freshly cut oak logs. Be careful though, very sharp ……. Sliced through the finger of a leather chainsaw glove when clumsily removed from a log. User error!!

Cracking axe! We now have two in the household, his and hers! They are nicely balanced and relatively light weight, but boy are they powerful. They’re well made as are most of Fiskars products and with 25 year warranty you can’t go wrong. If you need to chop logs, get this one!

First used to cut small logs with ease. I used it to cut out some sections of a walnut log.. Thereby requiring more precision than power.. It felt like a suitable tool for the job.. I ought to of used a chisel and mallet but I wanted to see how the exe would do: 'Well' is the answer. The blade cover is a good addition and is made to last. I wanted this so I can have it stowed anywhere in my van or home and know that it's not going to do anyone a mischief. Also gives me confidence my son can fit the cover, walk around safely with it. He's at an age where learning to use an axe safely is a valuable lesson. This Axe is ideal for all of the above

I bought this x11 specifically as a one hand splitting axe for chunks after I'd broken them down with my x25 axe. The x11 is a splitting shape head vs the x10 that's the same size but lacks splitting cheeks.I love it, it will tackle decent sized rounds and already split pieces turn to kindling even easier.Knotty wood will always be tricky but it's not designed for that.Take a few minutes to learn how to use it and wear the very slippery film off it and you're laughing.
It’s the splitter of all splitters and I’ve used a few in my day. The key is to keeping it sharp and I use the Fiskas sharpener all the time, which lives in the kitchen draw and it keeps all our knives super sharp as well. I chose the size of my splitter as per Fiskas guidelines and seriously, it’s sweet as. Cuts our hardwood like butter, gotta watch your shins and toes though. ;-)
This splitter is a game changer and really does make splitting wood fun.Prior to this is was using the old style wood handle splitter with a metal head that wasn't sharp and was useless at splitting wood.I did my research and got this as an upgrade and suddenly splitting wood was MUCH easier and actually fun.I can split all kinds of Eucalyptus with ease and often split a log and it stays in place, allowing me to slit it again and again without it shooting pieces off to the side.This makes splitting wood easier and that's saying something for me as a young person with a lower back injury that makes doing many physical tasks hard at times.Look at getting this if you're after something that makes splitting more enjoyable and easier!
So Ive fallen in love with this axe after using it on a 3 day camping trip! Its a great weight for camping as the handle is completely hollow, yet it never vibrates or feels weak - its very robust (multiple purchasers testify to that after many years). It arrived razor share, so it bites into the wood very easily. And because its a splitting axe the angle and the shape causes it to glide through the wood. Its build quality it epic. Its never going to fall apart, no matter how many miss-hits you swing. And the sheath/carry case (genius idea) is great for protecting the edge & yourself. If there were any negatives, it may have been better just a few inches longer. But having said that, if it was it probably wouldnt be ideal for camping chores. If you only want to chop ... After much online reading about the Fiskars X-11 splitting axe I purchased one.The size was just right. I use it during tent camping, either by vehicle or watercraft access.I find it compact enough not to be a burden. More importantly this “mini axe” split my campfire wood just fine.Then again where a hatchet style head would be better for chopping, or so I’ve read, this tool serves my purpose perfectly!I like the length as it allows two handed swinging for thicker wood splits.I also think the carry case is ideal. No cordura to fray or leather to rot, no rivets to corrode! Plus a built in handle.Top all this with a Lifetime warranty and it’s a Winner⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️One more thing...Blair’s Farm & Fleets has The Best Price!!
Pretty awesome unit. Does what it says on the box. The splitting angle isn’t so wide as to not be able to easily cut up some kindling and get fine pieces off logs. Works great at splitting and no shock etc. A pleasure to use. Makes super short work of the firewood for the marshmallows.
I have always found Fiskars products to be quality engineered pieces so had no hesitation in ordering the X-25 splitting axe. I was not disappointed. I had a large pile of hardwood oak and chestnut logs to split into smaller logs. quite literally the axe split the wood like hot knife through butter, perfectly weighted with ergonomically designed shaft for ease of use and comfort. after use the blade shows no signs of use and the axe could quite easily be repacked and sold as new again! pay a little bit more you wont be disappointed.....just a quality tool all-round.
