This lens is up against the greatest.I have the otus 85, zeiss 135, sigma art 105 f1.4, canon 200 f2, sigma art 85 1.4 and I would consider this lens to be at least as good as these super quality lenses.Fast AF, and very well built.Bokeh is amazing. My Fujifilm GFX 100 camera and the GF 110 f/2 lens combine a 102 megapixel sensor camera with a 110 mm lens that provides fabulous resolution. There is no way to describe the presence and resolution that this lens gives to every photo. I process the raw files with Capture One Pro22 and the jpegs it produces are colorful and take your breath away with their image quality. I transfer the images from my laptop to a 65 in. LG OLED TV so I can expand the 102 megapixel jpegs to almost full screen size, with no apparent loss in visual impact. I am anxious to print some 17x22 photos on my Epson Surecolor printer. Downloading to electronic media usually results in loss of quality, but I am attaching some bird photos as examples.

The GF 110 is no joke, But the shipping process is. When I went over to the shipping facility to pick it up the lens box was just bouncing around inside its shipping box. No bubble wrap or any type of packing protection of any kind. Needless to say that didn't fly at all. I sent it back and was told that I would receive it 2nd day air like it was supposed to be shipped the first time and they dropped the ball again. Sent it ground again and shipped the same way. You would think when you are paying this much money for something that more care and consideration would be in place but it's not. Luckily the lens seems to be ok and I am enjoying it but more attention to detail and packing of your products no matter the cost needs closer attention. I give the lens five ... This is my first step into telephoto lenses, after using a normal lens for the past few years. What a world! Very interesting contrast, very interesting depth of field possibilities. I work with the FUJIFILM MCEX-18G WR Macro Extension Tube for my macro shots, and it integrates well with this lens.Stunning for portraiture, and so much fun for still life.Minor warning - this is a very heavy lens, and a very wide barrel. It isn't a dream to use handheld on the GFX 50R's rangefinder form. The payoff to the discomfort is worth it to me though - extraordinary image quality at a highly competitive price-point.
I've been shooting professionally for over 15 years now, and in spite of it's lofty price point, I've never worked with a finer lens in all my years of shooting portraits. Brilliantly tack sharp in the center of the frame, beautiful bokeh, awesome subject isolation, fantastic weather sealed build quality, etc. It's sublime! The only real downside is AF speed an accuracy, not a huge deal in static subjects like portraits, but I would not want to use this lens in a pressure situation. This is an issue with medium format cameras in general. But in terms of pure results, I've never worked with a better lens.
Nothing at all to complain about with this lens. It is well built, comfortable to hold and use, fast focusing for its size, and it produces remarkable images. Wide open this lens pops the subject out of the background in a way I have only seen with the Zeiss 100mm Planar lens I use with my 501c. That is some very good company to keep. I have yet to be able to get it to flare and have seen no chromatic aberration. It is sharp edge-to-edge and creates a wonderful look to the final image that is not too contrasty - but still interesting without needing to make further adjustments. I opted for this lens + the extension tube versus the 120mm Macro and I am thrilled with the choice.
GF 110 has excellent optics both wide open for portraits and stopped down for more DOF in architecture and landscape at this focal length. From my practical experience with fast short telephoto lenses, this one is flawless. GFX 100 makes a great partnership where the camera supplies IBIS with fast focus speed and the lens can easily take advantage of full resolution. Any fast lens will compel you to improve your focus technique and control of light, and this lens is no different. Absolutely stunning when you nail it.
Yes, it is a beast in terms of size as well as image quality. If you are looking for an 85mm equivalent for your GFX camera look no further. The photos from this lens are nothing short of spectacular. I honestly have nothing to complain about and am looking forward to spending a lot more time creating images with it for my clients.
This lens was one of the reasons I purchased a GFX 50S. I've tried some of the other G-mont lenses and they've all be outstanding but this one has the shallow depth of field I was looking for. The lens is extremely sharp wide open with beautiful bokeh as expected. Build is first rate. It's quite large but fits the camera nicely and is not in any way problematic. The body and and lens combination balances just about 2 inches in front of the tripod mount. I expected it to be more nose heavy but it balances very well on a tripod head. Very happy with the lens and will look forward to acquiring some of the other lenses available for the GFX.
Before I bought this lens I was aware there is a slight thumb inside the lens which has been reported by other customers. Had to return the first sample because the thumbing was just too obvious even with the lens attached and several images were distorted. The second sample was better. I can't imagine the floating element will not affect the focus.
