I LOVE this tool. My cat sheds a LOT as hes a ginger tabby, and while its annoying for me to clean, it also causes hairball issues with him. Slicker brushes are a great daily tool, but it requires lots of strokes and i find myself using my hand to brush and pick up everything the brush has loosened. the furminator works incredibly well to pull out all the excess shed and hair that just wont get picked up with a brush. The eject button removes hair from the brush quickly. Tbh i havent had to replace the blades yet and ive had mine a few years. Just be mindful it shouldnt be used daily as it can irritate the skin. Add this to your grooming routine weekly and youāll notice a huge difference.

Our household has both cats (plural) and dogs (plural), so you can imagine we are constantly cleaning up pet hair! I originally purchased this thinking it would work best on our cats. However, our only long-haired kitty tragically passed away, and this was not as effective for our domestic shorthair cats. It sat on a shelf for years until we adopted two Alaskan Klee Kai dogs - think pocket-sized huskies - and I learned that a "cat" FURminator can be used on dogs. For pups with a dense, seasonal undercoat, this is a game changer! It is immensely satisfying to brush my pups and just see waves of hair come out, knowing all that is hair I won't have to vacuum up later. My dogs don't seem to mind it and it helps tremendously with their shedding. The Furminator tool works like a charm on ridding your cats undercoat and loose hair, which means less hair on your black pants. š. I've got 2 Ragdolls and they shed pretty good. I use this tool daily and it greatly reduces their shedding hairball gacking. The handle of the tool is very comfortable to hold and has a strong grip. The blades are made of stainless steel. The only downfall of the tool is that the teeth of the blade isn't very long at all, so you have to constantly empty the hair off the end of the teeth. These are expensive, but it is an awesome tool that I highly recommend. šš±

Iāve tried plenty of cat brushes since adopting my fur baby a few years ago and this one takes the cake! I swear each time I use it my cat loses half a pound just in fur. She also loves it and purrs the entire time Iām brushing her! I do recommend being gentle when using this brush though because it can be quite sharp if youāre not careful and catās skin can be very sensitive. But other than that, I am absolutely obsessed with this brush and consider it a total life saver with keeping my apartment as cat hair free as possible!
I have a beautiful domestic medium haired cat and I brush her every day with just a regular cat brush. She sheds like absolute crazy and I decided it was time to invest in something for deshedding and not just brushing. I finally bought this today, after reading reviews and contemplating it after about a month (due to cost). (I never leave reviews. This says something). I am absolutely blown AWAY by how much cat hair this brush has taken off of her. I am seriously mind blown. I am so glad I bought this. It will take time for my kitty to get used to this because sheās not used to this type of brush, but she let me use this on her for about 10 minutes.. if she would have let me keep going, I would have been able to get so much more off of her. Highly recommend this ...Ā MoreI have a beautiful domestic medium haired cat and I brush her every day with just a regular cat brush. Someone in the reviews earlier said something like "yes this seems pricey but it is worth it, especially if you consider how many other brushes you've tried" and they were RIGHT. So worth it. My cat loves it. He is a 15lb orange maine coon and he's getting older, and I noticed he's having a little more trouble lately grooming, and more matted fur than usual. This is AWESOME at helping keep his fur manageable and clean. SO MUCH FUR comes off, gently. And he loves it, it's better than cat nip, he literally is obsessed with it.
I brought this brush last week for my two long haired cats. Neither particularly enjoy a brush but will tolerate it. On using it the first time it took a lot of fur off especially the tail where it's really bushy.I wanted to be careful after reading alot of mixed reviews, so only did it for 5 minutes very gently.I used it for thr second time yesterday (5 days later). Narla's tail is very bushy and I noticed it was taking lots of hair from that area. Now it looks really thinned out which I'm not keen on!I noticed both cats have been over Grooming since I've used it only twice? I'm not sure why? I just hope it hasn't irritated their skin? Even though i used no force and only did it for five minutes? I'm not sure why? I just hope it hasn't irritated their skin? Even though i used no force and only did it for five minutes? I think I'll only used it on the back leg area now where it's very fluffy so it's not a complete waste of money. I brought it hoping for it to reduce their hairballs, which are difficult for them to bring up at times, but I'm a bit too dubious to brush the tail again as it has taken a lot of fur away. I'm also wondering why they have been licking more? It's good, but pet owners need to be really careful as I think it's quite harsh. It's called a brush but I'd say it's more like a blade?
I have a long hair rescue cat who has knots in her fur. She normally won't let my brush under her belly but she did using this deshedding tool. Will need a few goes to get the knot out but I was very slow and gentle. My other cat who hates being brushed was quite happy letting me brush him. Definitely recommend for long hair cats. The amount of fur was incredible that was shredded by using this.
We bought 2 medium cat tools, one for long hair, one for short. There is no way to easily tell them apart. The tiny tiny letters and numbers on the blade are no help since they don't correspond with any numbers on the box, insert, or this site. I'm guessing the 23B45 and the 30C45 correspond to # of teeth in the comb, but without knowing which is which, it's no help. I'll be writing 'long' and 'short' on them as soon as I find out which is which. My suggestion is that Furminator either place these numbers on the box, or better yet, print 'long' and 'short' on the combs.
Is it just me? Anyone with a long hair cat? My cat is in extreme pain every time I use this and she would try to bite the product away from her. I ignore thinking sheās being a big baby because of the good reviews but I notice that her hair was thinning out and getting shorter in areas I went over. I got scared and stopped. Am I the only one? I think this product it literally plucking my car fur out rather than removing the ones that had naturally shedded off. Iām cuddling her now cause I feel so bad for the pain I was causing her. I know the reviews are genuine, this product works perfectly for them but I do not recommend for long fur cats. So 3 stars cause it works. But it loses two stars because it doesnāt work for my cat.
