The watch over all is good, It has a good enough comfortable strap. The legibility is good with the positive display and even better in dim conditions from the auto light when you bring your hand up and tilt it to see the time, the watch auto illuminates for your preferred seconds (1-3). It seems pretty good quality and the build seems to be very durable. There is an ample amount of features on there which makes it a great all rounder, more than is actually stated on the g-shock site on the features list of the watch, which is strange. My negatives are that; 1. The buttons are a bit hard to press and it can be frustrating as you have to exert some force to use them and navigate where you want to go on the watch, so maybe g-shock can improve on that next time and ... MoreThe watch over all is good, It has a good enough comfortable strap. The auto light is good but can be better for example; in bed you have to try to make a specific motion to make the light illuminate and sometimes it just wont illuminate and then you have to manually do it, but this is a minor negative, I just want extra convenience. 3. The alarm beep is a bit quiet for me and I have missed it over 4 times now, it seems to get muffed under the duvet, so that’s not too great, it could be a bit louder. However, the benefits outweigh the negatives and overall it’s a great good value watch for a very generous price. I would recommend!

I had the old version (GW-M5610-1ER, without U), sadly I lost it recently. I bought this one to replace it, thinking it's the same, but new backlight is simply ugly. Older model had uniform light level with cool green tint, new one is white LED that is not uniform, looks cheap and does not fit the retro aesthetic of the watch.I'll be returning it and looking for the older model. If you don't mind the backlight, it's the perfect maintenace-free (charges itself, synchronizes time with atomic clocks) watch.

The GWM5610-1 is the classic G-Shock. It's light, comfortable, and has all the functions I want. But there is one major drawback that keeps me from totally loving this watch. The hourly signal and alarms are inaudible. Actually, they are useless. I like having a hourly signal so I don't loose track of time while I'm at the office. I work in a fairly quiet environment with my door shut and still can't hear it. I'd like to add that I have no hearing problems. If you're like me and use the signal and alarms, you will be disappointed with this watch. That's why I can only give this watch three stars.

Maybe you've watched YouTube reviews on this watch already, it's pretty solid. Atomic time keeping, world time with an additional 5 time zones (on top of the home city time zone on the main menu), low profile and small, clear and easy to read, classic square look, auto light when you raise your watch in the dark, the updated module allows you to see the time in stopwatch mode and alarm mode. Some cons: is not dive rated so you can't press buttons underwater (you can still take it down, just don't press anything), no compass, no barometer, no altimeter. Although the resin strap is more comfortable as other resin straps I've owned, I still don't like resin straps. I'm planning on purchasing the Jays and Kays 22mm adapters, so I can attach a NATO strap to it instead of ... MoreMaybe you've watched YouTube reviews on this watch already, it's pretty solid. My dad and father-in-law have both worn some iteration of this very watch since its incarnation. They were always indestructible just as this one has been for me. I added this watch to my rotation to replace my existing apple watch. It has not disappointed. Not only is it a better watch than my apple watch (in my opinion for my needs) I have a sentimental attachment to it every time I see it on my wrist, because it reminds me of my dad and father-in-law. That and it is able to withstand anything I would ever be able challenge it with.
I own quite a few watches, one of which is solar powered and another which is radio controlled (an old, well used Casio Waveceptor) but I wanted a watch that combined both features. It had to show the day and date clearly which this one does very well and it had to be multiband radio controlled, not bluetooth as I'm not a fan of tech that relies on phone apps to function properly. All my watches are analogue so I was drawn to this one for being different. I love the retro look, it takes me back to my younger years and I've worn it every day since I bought it, my other watches haven't had a look-in!The only negative I have about the watch is the dismal alarm. It's unbelievably quiet to the point I can only hear it when it's right next to my ear so it's pretty useless and makes the alarm function pointless. So, if an alarm feature is important to you, then this watch is definitely not for you. Fortunately for me, I have no interest in the alarm function as I use my smartphone for that job.Overall, I love this watch and I'm really glad I bought it as it has everything I want in a watch. It's solid, a good size, light, has an easy to read screen, never needs adjusting, is solar powered and it just looks bloody great! I particularly like the power save function. The display goes off in the dark and when there is no movement from the watch. As soon as you pick it up the next morning, the screen wakes up.Finally, if you live in the U.K. you can currently save yourself £35 by purchasing this watch from Argos, as I did, rather than from here (sorry Casio!).
You can't go wrong with a Casio G Shock to start with. This model looks great and is not full of functions you will never use. The solar power means no need to worry about batterry changes. I like the fact that the time is automatically updated with atomic clocks around the world so no messing with BST. The price from Watches2U at the time was the best I could find so even better value for money. This is an updated version of the model to include multi band 6 which sets the clock.I highly recommend this watch to anyone .
I was looking for a lightweight, non obtrusive digital watch. This is the only watch that met my personal requirements for functions and weight. The watch is so light weight that most of the time I'm not aware I'm even wearing it.The feature I like the most is that the home time is displayed in the upper right corner when in the World Time, Stopwatch, and Countdown Timer modes. The home time is always visible in those modes and I don't have to cycle thru the various screens just to view the local time.I have worn it swimming without any evidence of water intrusion. I'm in Florida and the watch receives the synchronization signal from Colorado just fine. I turn on the automatic light function at night and it doesn't seem to deplete the battery much. Regular exposure to daylight seems to keep it charged pretty well. The numbers are large enough for me to read with my glasses off.In summary the GWM5610-1 well constructed watch that fulfills all the requirements I need in an everyday, go anywhere watch.
I have to say although I have had many different G-Shocks over time. So this probably surprises me the most. Even though it says 44mm, it feels VERY small on the arm because it is very thin. Very clear display even though it is a black background. It is also a good detail that there is a power meter on the display so you can see if it needs to be charged via light/the sun. ALL the known and necessary functions plus a little extra. Thoughtful watch!!! White backlight works really well in total darkness.
