Great compact unit for the price. Includes required fitting hardware. Very easy to use. Unit has GPS but doesn't come with any maps, and there is no SD Card slot or similar to add maps. What it does have though is the ability to map and record your own contour lines, basically allowing you to make your own contour map of an area. This contour mapping is very easy to use, there's plenty of youtube videos showing how it works. The maps can't be transferred to another unit though, which is a downside. For the price though its a great compact, easy to use unit with good features. Would buy again.

it's really hard to find a really good fish finder nowadays for a price lower than $500 but for my setup of a 12 ft boat 3.5 Nissan and a few fishing rods and a small can of gas this really sets the bar. the suction cup fitting stayed on my boat through some nasty waves and my boat's not that fast but it stayed tight I actually had to use a putty knife to get the suction off when I landed my boat. the sonar is also really good for ice fishing haven't brought it out yet because the ice hasn't formed yet. the battery is so handy because you don't need a big deep cycle battery for a small fish finder so this really does the trick if I could rate 6 out of five I would.

This is probably a great piece of gear but it wouldn't work with my inflatable kayak...from what I could gather from reading the manual. The one star review is because Cabela's charged me postage. I couldn't use the gear and they said I just changed my mind. Not true. I won't buy from them again.

Works great, the portability is awesome.Lasts for days with the supplied battery and charger.Only complaint I have is the charger and battery connections. It comes with a quick disconnect on the charger, but doesn’t come with it for the fish finder wiring. You have to pull off the spade terminals every time you need to charge. Other than that issue, I highly recommend it.It comes with a float so that it can be used for ice fishing also and has traditional and flasher modes. You can mark hot spots and also if there are obstacles in the water you need to avoid.I am very satisfied with this unit.
Love this unit that is mounted in my Old Town Sportsman Salty 120pdl Kayak. I bought a few extra things like the transducer mount for my specific Kayak. Now it just barely sits inside the transducer hole. A perfect fit. We used "Sticky Backs" or Tie-Wrap hold Downs for all the wiring & Yak Mount quick connect. It's small & out of the way but gives me all the information I need like, speed, water temp, depths, fish, etc. A great buy for a Kayak Person.
It does exactly what it is designed to do !I wish it came with a template to help navigate thru the menu but how can you really complain for the price. First trip out went about 5-6 miles out in the flats . Great track lines and fairly easy to use just need to familiarize my self with it a little more. Great product for the price
I have used the Garmin Striker Plus 4 most of the summer and haven’t really seen a fish; however, that was not my intent when I made the purchase. The lake I normally fish averages about ten feet in depth so obviously the “cone” of the transducer does not cover a large area. It’s also relatively featureless and quite weedy. I found this unit to be excellent for locating any variance in structure, weed lines, and objects which might draw bass. I mark a waypoint for each area of interest. When I do get a good bite, I also drop a waypoint - I figure something drew the fish to that location. On subsequent trips I get close to the waypoint and cast to or past it and my catch has improved considerably improved.Although I won’t fish deeper lakes for a couple of weeks, ... MoreI have used the Garmin Striker Plus 4 most of the summer and haven’t really seen a fish; however, that was not my intent when I made the purchase. Just bought this Garmin Striker Plus 4. Installed yesterday evening on my kayak. What I don't know is what is my power source besides it being a battery. I know it won't take one that would start a backhoe but what then?Downside: pages of 'instructions' in every language. Even though, no doubt, it came from China I expect simple, large enough to read complete instructions.I'm older than dirt, I don't negotiate ratings. Give me what I want, I give you better rating.
Installed transducer on a sailboat in the cockpit locker, shooting through the hull. Main use is as gps & depth meter rather than fishfinder, in my case.Works reliably so far (only tested in waters up to 15m depth). I did a first trial (for functional testing) as a "transom mount" on the swim ladder. The sonar worked well, but the wake and splash of the transducer was really significant. You don't want that on a sailboat. It is anyway also dependent on wave action in such a configuration. It does take some time to go through the settings and put them to your liking (default out-of-the-box settings are not the most ideal imho).Display very readable in general, except for some details (like the depth annotations on the quickdraw contour maps, and the gps ... MoreInstalled transducer on a sailboat in the cockpit locker, shooting through the hull. Pretty well sunlight readable (certainly if you consider price range of this equipment).Quickdraw could be much more useful if it were more readable, especially on this 4" sized display. But is already ahead of the competition as it is.On the negative side, i find the mounting bracket not well thought out. Especially not if you want to mount the striker on a vertical wall (like the bulkhead of a sailboat). The distance between mounting surface and display front is quite large, so the likelyhood of ropes or other objects getting tangled around it increases unnecessary. Or even just the chance of a person hitting the striker and breaking the mount becomes very real.Regarding pecheur.com. The information on the delivery could have been better. Nevertheless everything was very correct and shipment was in time and ok. Would order again.
Great unit with a ton of features!! It rivals units costing 1000 or more. Only downside is mount is a bit flimsy it pops out easy and moves rather easy. Although i have an additional mount on my boat which i have no issues! I use this one fitted with some genz stuff and it gets bounced around a bit!!
