Hifiman Arya Open-Back Planar Magnetic Headphones - New
Nanometer Thickness Diaphragm A breakthrough core technology by HIFIMAN and first of its kind in headphone application. Working with this advanced material is extremely challenging yet the successful incorporation of this fihl as the Arya's planar driver is the comerstone of its remarkable sound. Advanced Asymmetrical Magnetic Circuit Years of research into planar driver optimizations led HIFIMAN to utilize an asymmetric design with smaller magnets on the side facing the ear, reducing interference in sound wave transmissions from the diaphragm. Patented "Window Shade" System Created to meet the need for driver protection and an optimized open-back design. Asymmetrical Ear Cups Follows the natural shape of the human ear. Sturdy 3.5mm User-replaceable Connector Design Allows easy cable swapping, giving both maximum durability and enhanced customizability. Metal and High-Grade Plastic Construction HIFIMAN designed the Arya's high-quality metal headband with extra strength and a special high-grade plastic for lightweight comfort and rugged durability. Bold Black Aesthetic With its classic HEIOOO-styIe shape combined and striking good looks of its all-black exterior, glossy black headband, and eye-catching matte-black cups and grill, the Arya is a statement of both aesthetic and sonic excellence. Cables The Arya keeps things simple with a single Crystalline Copper cable. Featuring a 6.35mm plug and a jet black woven exterior finish it's the perfect complement to the sound and sight of the Arya.

I own nearly every Hifiman open back headphone, including Susvara. I can say with confidence that the Arya is their best price to performance ratio headphone. This headphone is very easy to drive (including right off your phone) and has the most quantity of bass out of all their open backs. It is very well rounded and engaging. It is a fun headphone that offers plenty of dynamics. In comparison to the Ananda, it is sharper and more detailed. A more clean and dynamic sound with more punch than the Ananda. I sometimes get asked if the HE1000V2 is worth buying if you already own the Arya, and in my opinion the answer is Yes. The HE1000V2 is another "level up" in terms of detail and performance. This is the one you will find yourself pulling off that stand the most.

Off the top of my head; theres not much I can really say about these headphones besides they're almost perfect for meI thought I chose right in picking my Abyss Diana V2 until I met AryaThe dynamics and resolution are up there with Diana. So that "ethereal" quality is found here just as much as their entry Sundara. The mid range is very very nice. Its very detailed without being dry (like Diana) but has a slight scoop to me ear that gives it a pleasant "fun" sound. The bass extends and is punchy. It can pull off sub-bass frequencies quite decently as well not being in your face when its not in the recording. Its an all-arounder type of tuning that will probably work with most the music youre into. Its a very fun headphone and I highly recommend it as a potential "endgame" pair.Im surprised, I think I like these more than Diana V2 and would actually sell them off without much regret except the resale value!

I love my everything about my HD800 OG and actually prefer it over the HD800S. However the only thing that is missing is bass. My search for the end game headphone is finally over. The Arya Stealth has the wide sound stage, layers of details and amazing vocal as the HD800 if not better. But what Arya Stealth able to provide more than the HD800 is the bass, it is tight and well control. With this price and what you are getting, I thing the Arya Stealth is a very good bargain. If you never listen to one, just try it. It is very hard to beat with this price. I am expecting it will sound even better once it is burnt in longer. Also I found the Arya also easier to drive than the HD800. I have no problem using it on the SP2000T (Tube mode). First of all thanks to Pritam for the suggesting Arya and quick shipping. Pritam offered a great deal on these headphones. Im satisfied with the buying experience from Audiostore.Coming to the headphones itself, this is hands down the best headphones I have heard till now. My previously owned/tried headphones - Sennheiser HD598SE, 600, 650, 660, 800S, AKG K712Pro, Focal Clear MG, Beyer 1990 and Hifiman Ananda. I was using Ananda before Arya and was searching for a end game headphones. Arya was in my mind for so long and Pritam suggested the same.Sound: Arya stealth magnet version is neutral sounding headphones with a hint of bass warmth. Almost perfect imaging and soundstage (Not as big as 800S). But Arya has better bass. Very quick, precise and enough depth. Arya Stealth delivers quite well with a good amount of extension all the way down to the sub-bass region. When it comes to midas and treble, Arya is an exceptional headphone. Detailed and well separated. Vocals stands out and is a bit forward sounding than Ananda. Instrument separation is terrific. Soundstage is improved compared to Ananda in all axes. Buid quality is much better than Ananda.Pros:-Terrific dynamics-Class leading Bass technicalities-Neutral and balanced yet musical and engaging-Transparent and accurate-Terrific imaging-Excellent midrange-Exceptional clarity/treble-Sparkling and alive yet not piercing or fatiguing-Highly resolving but not analytical-Wide and spacious soundstage-Super comfortable to wear-Easy to driveCons:-Slightly energetic compared to Ananda. As per reviews and Hifiman, it should get better with burn in.-Bass not as dynamic or visceral as a hi-end dynamic driver headphones-Cable is not so good
Wanted to upgrade to Aryas coming from a Sundara. It was premeditated buy. Reached out to Pritam for additional information and discount if any. I was pleasantly surprised with the warmth and genuineness of our discussion where Pritam offered me a very attractive price, going out of the way to help me with the purchase. Seemless buying experience and timely delivery. The headphones are all they are made to be, definately end game category. The pair i received was an original (not open box), properly sealed and well packed. This unit had 'minor' qc niggles (on the swivel mechansim alignment) and both hifiman customer care India and audiostore were helpful in addressing the concern. Recommend Audiostore to anyone venturing into hifi and looking for a genuinely fantastic experience and very attractive prices. Pritam understands audiophile customers well and i look forward to many more purchases in future.
Was looking for planar headphones so I can have/compare them along with my dynamic headphones (Focal Clear). After reading/watching many reviews, I ended up at the Arya Stealth. Purchased about 3 weeks ago, have been enjoying them for 2 weeks straight. They're very comfortable, but still have somewhat of a clamp force so they don't feel like they're going to fall off compared to the clears. I really like that the cups are huge and that my ears don't touch anything. They sound great and are very detailed.I haven't picked up my clears since I got them, but that's mostly because I wanted to use them for a while and then compare them to the clears. I do have a negative pre-amp on equalizer APO, only because a CD I ripped was "clipping" according to the APO, but I digress. These get 5 stars from me and if the comparison I try this weekend goes the way I think it's going to, I might be trying to sell the clears... From just listening to them for the past two weeks I already like the wider soundstage better than the clears, but we'll see what happens! These honestly might be my endgame, and then I'll just look for some closed-back dynamic headphones to compliment them (already eyeing focal radiances since I do enjoy the focal sound for some edm/kpop)
I have never written a review for a high-end audio device, but it seems silly to only discuss the headphones without commenting on the associated system equipment. And by the way, the last time I owned a pair of corded high-end headphones was 1986, a pair of Sennheiser HD-280 Jubilee Edition which I paid $300. By today’s inflation standards, $1299 for the Arya’s is a bargain. The System Equipment: I am using a FiiO M11 PLUS high-resolution audio player, playing 16-bit FLAC files ripped from my CD collection. I’m driving the “Arya” Headphones with a HeadAmp “Gilmore Lite Mark 2” Class-A Headphone Amplifier.System Setup and Use: I tried driving the headphones from the headphone output of my Yamaha RX-A3080 receiver, but the sound quality was not great. I then used the Yamaha headphone output to drive the “Gilmore Lite Mark 2” amp using a 6.35mm to RCA adapter cable. The load on the Yamaha headphone output was significantly reduced allowing it to produce a low distortion signal to drive the headphone amp. I had to use a 15-foot headphone extension cable between the headphones and the headphone amp.To avoid the long extension cable and eliminate the Yamaha receiver, I purchased the Fiio M11 PLUS hi-res audio player to provide the musical source material for a new compact headphone audio system, localize near my listen chair, with minimal cabling. The Headphone Construction & Materials: the mechanical construction and materials of the Arya headphones are first rate and I have had no issues for the first month of continuous use.The Headphone Fit: the open-back earpieces fit completely over and around my ears with a good seal to my head creating its own controlled acoustic environment and a comfort level that is very high. I have spent hours listening without having to remove the headphones to relieve any pain. This may be different for smaller individuals, for I am 6’ 1” and 220 LBs and my head is proportional to my body size.Listening Environment: with open-back headphones a quiet listening room environment is a must to get the best performance. If there are other people in your listen room you will hear everything they say! Kick them out if you want to hear the low-level details of the music. Don’t turn up the volume too high! Much of the extended dynamic range is found in the low level, quiet musical passages. I found the volume on the headphone amp rarely exceeded the 9 o’clock position for adequate volume. The Arya headphones are quite efficient and easy to drive.Listening Impressions: my impressions, after listening to the Arya headphone for nearly a month, the sound quality is “FANTASTIC”! The phase and amplitude distortion are extremely low, allowing me to hear the inner most details and separation of various instruments playing in an expansive soundstage. I liken this to pulling back the stage curtains to reveal the large band playing behind it. With good source material and clean amplification these Arya headphones let the musical details out of the bag allowing me to become emotionally invested in the performance. When all is said and done, that’s the reason I listen to music in the first place. An enthusiastic Thumbs Up!
I started my headphone journey with Hifiman because I found the Planar magnetic design more realistic than dynamic drivers. So, I bought a pair of HE400se from Audio46 and found them to be a big improvement for desk or home listening from the wireless cans I use when traveling. I use an iPhone and my source is streaming high-res audio via Deezer. But I wondered, if the HE400se's sound this good, imagine what their big brothers might sound like? So, I purchased the Sundara model (along with a iFi HipDac2 DAC/Amp). It was an unbelievable step up, in terms of detail and presence. Now I am hooked, but that lingering feeling about just how good a headphone can be still existed. So, (totally impulsively) I purchased the Arya model and cannot describe the intimacy these ... The detail of the instruments, the broad and accurate soundstage, the neutral and lifelike reproduction is astounding to me. Based on an online group discussion, I added more power by upgrading to an iFi iSDS Signature DAC/amp. I am loving what this combination delivers to my ears.Is the Susvara model in my future? Admittedly I am curious but at $6K plus the need to upgrade to a desktop amp and DAC (probably over ten grand for a good setup) not bloody likely. But each day I continue to explore new tracks and the Arya have never failed to impress. I can highly recommend them.
Within the 1K$ range, the Hifiman Arya's are easily one of the top headphones in terms of performance. The balance from low-mid-high, sound stage, and separation are fairly hard to come by as not all sets do everything well. They are quite comfortable as I've worn them for majority of the day for all-dat listening session without experiencing fatigue. Have paired the Arya's with Khadas Tea when I'm mobile and Burson Playmate 2 desk side; both do quite well in powering them! The Hifiman Arya's are easily my favorite hifi headphones, so far :).
I was hesitant to believe all the hubbub about the Arya V3, let alone the Ayra in general. Not because I was worried they weren’t able to perform, but from the way reviewers become attached to certain biases when describing incremental differences between version updates. However, what they say is true. The Arya is the exact definition of an all rounder open back planar magnetic. The Arya’s are what I would consider one of the, if not, the best neutral tuned headphone at this price point. MoreI was hesitant to believe all the hubbub about the Arya V3, let alone the Ayra in general. It’s detail and resolution is second to none without sacrificing stage or pushing the image forward like focal headphones. I would knit exactly call the timbre natural, but it feels organic and effortless. I never get the sense it is pushing the limit of each sound, but being articulate and appropriate given the instrument.A typical trait of planners compared to dynamic drivers is the accurate and fast bass response. If you’ve heard any hifiman you know they are one of the best at balancing low and mid bass frequencies without sacrificing texture. However, like most planars there is a lake of dynamics and punchy, remaining rather flat and smooth across the frequency response. If you are looking for a more dynamic and punchy response dynamic drivers will always produce this quality better. The biggest complaint is not the performance, but the value for the price. The headphones are worth this much in my opinion except the packaging and accessories pale in comparison to its counterparts. A cheap cardboard box with a “foam headphone stand” touted as a feature, and a very cheap feeling cable? It’s quite underwhelming until you put the cans on your head.
