Fritz loves this food. I was having a hard time having her eat her prescription food original flavor. It looked almost plastic, no texture, smell, or flavor to speak of. No mixing with other foods fixed that. This food has bits of veggies and it smells good to me. She ate it right away. Even the kitten tries to eat it. Her condition (runs) is not much better yet (thus the 4 starts) but it has only been a week.

I have a little “Golden Girl” Kitty who’s going on 16, and she has some tummy issues she’s gained recently. No cancer or anything wrong with her blood panel, but she started vomiting stomach bile about every 3 days. I had her on the Rx food from Royal canin first which actually made her worse. Then tried this Rx from hills and she hasn’t vomited since and hasn’t missed a meal either!! So blessed that she’s back to being her Sassy self! Thank you hill’s for saving my babies tummy.

This is a good quality food with a nice mix of meat and gravy, and my boy with pancreatis eats little amounts of this throughout the day, which are all postives. However, I really wish they would take out the rice. White rice adds no nutritional value and if eating rice left over it causes bateria in animals and humans. I usually just take it out but its wasteful and time consuming.

Our cats were prescribed i/d back in April. The pate was working great for them, but then the consistency/texture turned into a gloppy mess. I refused to feed my cats the pate, despite Hill's insisting the food was OK. I switched them to the chicken and vegetable stew and they've been very happy every since. It's a bit more expensive than the pate, so I mix it with the i/d dry. They've been eating the chicken and vegetable stew since June, and they're doing great on it. If you are looking for a replacement for the i/d chicken pate, give the stew a try!
Since Toby's introduction to this wet cat food his appetite and weight have increased. Toby had started losing weight since August 2023 and became very skinny and boney, so it was a relief to see him actually gaining weight.Toby has become more active and alert. He is also very relaxed and very happy.Toby, in the past, would also turn away from the wet food I offered him. He absolutely loves this dry cat food and gobbles it up,
I wanted the larger can of Hills I/d digestive care. And I wanted the 5.5oz. net weight can. He has been happily eating that and continues to do so. The smaller can had carrots in it, which my cat hates. And it has a different consistency, which he also dislikes. I plan to donate the small cans to an animal shelter. Can you reimburse me for these cans? I ordered them over the phone and was not told about the smaller can size, so I thought they were like the ones I had ordered previously from Chewy's.
After spending $500 at vet to investigate why my cat was throwing up every day (sometimes multiple times) and having loose stool, I discovered that it was only his food. He’s been eating Fancy Feast for years. I read it was good food. He is 12 now, so perhaps he just needed a change in diet - as most middle-aged mammals do :-). This food has eliminated the vomit & firmed up the stool. Also, his round belly seems to have deflated a bit. He doesn’t love the taste- I have to sprinkle a little FortiFlora on it for him to eat it, but overall it is a huge win. For your own comparison, he would not touch the Royal Canin that the vet gave us.
It's difficult to write a review as the issue is not necessarily with the food, but rather with the mystery illness we are dealing with. My kitty, soon to be 12, developed digestive issues; all test results/xrays etc. did not provide any answers so we are trying different diets to hopefully find one that helps. The i/d diet seems fine, he ate some, though not enthusiastically, however I had to stop feeding it to him as his vomiting issues continued & worsened. Can't blame the food, as I said we don't know what's going on. It's worth a try; perhaps it work for some.
My kitty has IBD and this is the only food my cat will stomach and we both don't regret when it comes out the other end. She won't eat it unless I stick it in the blender and add water so it's like flavoured water. That suits her well because she also has kidney failure and needs to drink as much water as possible. It's better than the pate because that's gritty even when blended with a cup of water. Recommend if ur cat poops blood and diarrhoea.
if your cat is like mine she can b sneaky & eat the gravy first because the chicken is still a little hard to chew with 3 teeth.so b4 I feed her I cut of the chicken as much as possible so she can eat both again don't b surprised if she only the gravy they are very smart don't Underestimate them. just make sure chicken and carrots are cut up and rice.i have a picky cat to darn smart..give them time to get used the food.u can see an attitude change as well..Ill be honest its not cheap but try it..the smell can b a little strong at firsti use wee wee pads incase of accidents as well
