He definitely prefers the stew in the smaller cans over the pate. I think he loves the juices in the stew cans. The only thing is that these cans are a bit more expensive because they are a special diet and require a prescription but it’s 100% worth it to not have him suffer from the issues that he was having and from constantly bring him to the vet. He’s so much happier now!

NOTE: This is for the dry kibble - Influenster only listed the canned formula which the cats have eaten only occasionally. Two of our cats have problems with their urinary tracts becoming blocked. This can quickly become an emergency and potentially fatal if they don't receive veterinary care quickly. This food hasn't completely eliminated the problem; unfortunately some cats have a predisposition to this. But it has greatly decreased the number of episodes they experience and all but one eagerly eat this (this little guy has tummy problems so feeding him anything can be difficult). Changed texture
21 August 2024

I started feeding my cat this food in March and he likes it well enough. Echoing what some of the recent reviews have said, since July the food I have received from Chewy and from my vet have a mush, goopy texture and changed color. My cat sniffs it and then walk away - refuses to eat any of it. I thought maybe it was the heat of the summer impacting the food while in transit, but if it is a manufacturing issue I hope Hill's fixes it.

Listen to the complaints and go back to previous formula
14 July 2024

I’ve bought this food since 2020. It’s been critical to my cats digestive health. Now all of a sudden it’s clearly changed and my cat will eat a few bites before clearly being disgusted. Then I come to the website to see a ton of other similar reviews and a canned message from the company on every one assuring that it’s all fine. It’s not - change it back. Thanks.

Mushey i/d
24 June 2024

I've been using Hills i/d Chicken flavored wet food.for a year or two? All of a sudden the recipe changed. The consistency is mushey and wet. The morning feeding is ok, the food has good color (pink). I cover the lid saving the remainder at dinner time. (7a.m. and 5p.m.) The top layer changed color to grey? I have to scrape off the top layer and dig out the food that didn't change color! As another consumer mentioned, the cans are too big for one cat. Make it smaller, e.g. 3.3 ozs.

Odd consistency
14 June 2024

I have been feeding this to our cats for a few months without any issues and with excellent results. Unfortunately, the last few cases of food that I've received from our vet and from Chewy have had a soupy, mushy consistency. Hill's sent out a boiler plate e-mail assuring me that the consistency is OK for the cats to eat. I am not at all comfortable feeding them something that, to be blunt, looks like they just vomited up. This is unfortunate because they really enjoy the food! While I appreciate the coupons, I'd be even more grateful if Hill's figured out what was causing the changes in consistency.

Quality or formulation changed in the past month!
29 June 2024

I have been feeding this to my cat for about a year now on the advice of her vet due to stomach sensitivity issues and have had no issues until this past month. Many others here and on chewy have expressed the same issue with the formulation. It is now runny, gray and smells bad. My cat won’t eat it and I can’t blame her. Unfortunately though I am now trying to figure out what to feed her! Please figure out why the quality has changed!!

Was great but now somehow different.
29 November 2023

My cats have eaten this food everyday for a few years and very happily. One cat is a rescue and has had a difficult stomach issue. This last case they are not eager to eat. They do come back later but they never really finish it. They used to eat every last bit right away. There has been some change to the formula and they don't like it as much. (I do feed them other types as well and they continue to love their other food. For the price I'm now paying I'm disappointed by this change.
