Hi,Prior to this order, I've never had any issues w/orders from Chewy, but when i took the dog food bag out of the box this morning & put it on the table, some kibble fell out - I was shocked!Turns out the 'side' of the bag had a sizable slice. I checked the box it came in, & there was NO damage to ANY part of the box, so it wasn't something done during the shipping process. I usually open the box before the current bag is empty, but I've been working 2 jobs & just needed the food starting this morning. So, I had to run out & buy a bag of food at the local pet store. I don't know how long the bag has been 'open' so I'm concerned about the freshness & I'm also concerned 'something' might have gotten into the bag while it was open - EEWWW ! I'm getting ready to go ... I'm getting ready to go to work now, but I planned to call Chewy to let someone know what happened, because Chewy is always so good & customer friendly. I will call as soon as I can.I see the Question below asks if I would recommend this item. I will still answer Yes because this is the 1st time this has ever happened, but I'm not happy I had to spend the money on a 2nd bag of food - I work 2 jobs to take care of my Fur Baby & myself.

I have ordered this for my French bulldog transitioning to adult food formula and it did not go well. Less than a month after feeding my dog developed diarrhea for 2 weeks!! On top of that a skin inflammatory condition- which looked like red spots all over his body. And if one would think it’s because of the transition or allergy- I think it might be the barley or whatever is in the mix in this bag. I’ve ordered a different adult food this time with NO BARLEY, something for sensitive stomach and my dog was doing immediately much better for the next 3 month. My mistake was ordering this huge bag of food , and really did not want it to go to waste .. so on day 2 of feeding this back again to my dog - diarrhea all over again and he threw it all up

My 11mo corgi lost all interest in her old kibble after going through her first heat, and trying to get her to eat was becoming very stressful. At the recommendation of our vet, I bought a small bag of Hill’s Science Small Bites to try. As soon as I brought the bag inside, my pup was immediately interested, and she eagerly ate a handful of food. I wasn’t able to do a gradual transition from her old kibble since she would literally not eat it, so I just started with small meals of Hill’s and slowly increased her portion size - she only had one episode of loose stool that resolved with some pumpkin. She is now at a stable portion and is doing great! She gets excited when she sees me getting her food ready, and she licks her bowl clean every meal! I am SO relieved to ... I have four dogs, all eat science diet kibble. We haven't had issues with upset stomachs or loose stools, digestion seems regular. I do supplement it daily with homemade chicken and rice, as opposed to store bought wet food. When I was showing dogs I fed Purina Pro Plan, I believe that product is superior for active, sporting dogs, but my dogs are mid-life couch potatoes. Pro-plan produces superior coat quality on dogs. Science Diet doesn't seem to give than super shiny fur. Science Diet is ridiculously expensive, I believe you are price gouging and I hate the non-recylcable plastic bags. I would gladly pay a fee for reusable bags, or biodegradable waxed lined paper, old school.
I have a dog with a chicken allergy. It's so hard to find food that she can eat that TRUELY does not have chicken in it! I've been feeding Purina Proplan Sensitive Skin and Stomach Salmon, which she's doing great on. However it's hard on the wallet. Someone mentioned this food to me, which is much cheaper. I was shocked to see they were right, NO CHICKEN! I've been testing it out, and my dog seems to be fine on it. I'll be mixing it into her current food to help stretch it and the cost out a bit. Definitely a winner! :)
The transition of my 11 month old puppy to a grown-up dog food went very smoothly without upset stomach or any issues. It seemed like our puppy never liked his puppy food so when we started mixing his food adult small bites. He went crazy for it. Max literally was spitting out the puppy food and just eating straight the grown-up food. We were worried that he might get stomach issues but nothing ever happened so for that I’m giving five stars and I have to stay with confidence. It’s a great food.
Five little farm hands - ages 1-6, give this 5 stars! We have English Bulldogs, a Shepadoodle, and a large mixed rescue . They are quite finicky about size of kibble and taste . All enjoy their mealtime down to the last morsel in the bowl . They love the smaller size pieces and find this chicken flavor doggy-licious !!!Mom here delights in knowing they are getting great nutrition as Hills Science Diet is superior quality and the very best nutrition. All five are eager little beavers to have their bowls filled with this choice . We use a 45 lb bag per month.Easy digestion, strong teeth and bones, and firm stools are of utmost importance to me . I want the best for them as like "Most Dog Moms" they have my heart . This gives me confidence as I know I am feeding them ... MoreFive little farm hands - ages 1-6, give this 5 stars! I like the Hill's Science Diet Chicken and Barley Small Bits. I'm a small to medium size dog, you know, Miniature Poodle mix. Anyway, my mom has a bottle cap and she gives me 2 capfuls for meal 1 and 4, and 1 and 1/2 capfuls for meals 2 and 3. Of course, I also get the occasional treat of roast chicken or ham, but my dog food is 97% of what I eat. We see ads for human-grade dog food, but we're not rich, so we prefer to pay $80 for 35 pounds that lasts a few months. Health-wise I'm doing great. If I have a bout of constipation, she just soaks it and serves that and maybe some pumpkin for easier digestion. The other thing you should consider for your dog is the delicious Virbac C.E.T. Enzymatic toothpaste. I'm 7 years old and my teeth and gums look great. My mom ... MoreI like the Hill's Science Diet Chicken and Barley Small Bits. Enzymatic toothpaste. I'm 7 years old and my teeth and gums look great. My mom scales my teeth (not for everyone, I know). but the toothpaste keeps the tartar and plaque easy to scrape off. It is jump-up-and-down yummy. She just applies it to my teeth with her finger, no brush, and if she forgets, I remind her. Well, gotta go, my mom wants to use the computer.
Hill’s diet was recommended by my vet, so I know it’s good for my mini Schnoodle. I’ve purchased both the lamb and chicken. While Henry ate it, he was not enthusiastic about either flavor so I decided to make a topper for the kibble, like the ones you can purchase.Used a chicken carcass to make a broth, added carrots and peas, an egg, a little rice and instant potato flakes to thicken it. I put a couple spoonfuls on his kibble and it’s changed his attitude. He is eating his kibble and licking the bowl these days. So he’s getting his nourishment from quality kibble and enjoying it thanks to the topping.
it's... dog food! seemingly good dog food, too. our vet approves, so that's good, and our dog approves, which is a less weighted opinion because she will eat literal turds off the ground, but I would rather her eat kibble than turds, so that's of course good. anyway she's been eating this her whole life and she's a happy healthy pup. can't complain. enjoy this photo of my eepy baby dog. she is a very silly girl and I love her.
