With 7 cats and a history of losing males to blockages, I feed as much urinary and wet food as they will accept. Everyone here likes it. I add 3-4 T water per can and mash it in. They like the dry as well. I mix about 6 different drys together (urinary, hairball, dental, grain free) so they eat it as is or pick out their favs. I feed approx 50% wet food. All are healthy, brushed 2-3 times a week and bathed once a month. No tumbleweed here.

I've had two of my rescue cats on this particular product for about two years now to help with their urinary issues formed by past anxiety, it's usually given as their breakfast meal and they both enjoy it a lot. It's smooth pate texture means they can easily lap it up. As with cats who commonly have urinary issues, water intake is very important and so throughout summer I've found it's been helpful to add a small amount of water to this mixture to make it even smoother for the cats to lap up.

I tried several different foods after rescuing a cat. This is the only hills wet food he will eat. I tried just hairball, turkey and salmon. He will no eat any of them! I even tried another brand and he wasn't happy. So now we are stuck on this can. If he's happy, I'm happy!

Both my cats love this food. I have two lynx point siamese cats. They are 3 years old and they dive into this food. We switched from Wellness Core over the pandemic, mainly due to stocking issues. They ended up liking this brand so much better and with the special formula it was hard to switch back. Veterinarian recommended as well!
It’s supposed to pate but sometimes arrives more in the form of purée, that’s a problem because there’s basically nothing there for the cats to chew, they don’t like the semi soup texture so they leave it there. I don’t appreciate the formula texture change, this stuff is super expensive! $1.43 for the small 2oz. can!!! I’m feeding this because one of my cats has developed kidney issues. DO NOT FEED YOUR CAT DRY FOOD ONLY! You will pay dearly at the Vets., & the animal suffers & your bank account suffers. I try to feed the best but Hills is getting carried away with how much they’re charging for this stuff. I must find a better food at a better price with the same formula texture consistently because I’m losing money here!
I ordered the Urinary & Hairball Control variety of cat food because it was nearly the only case I could find with 5.5 oz cans due to our ongoing supply chain problem. I normally order the 'light' variety as kitty is a bit portly. So far, he really likes this variety, probably because it's not light! Petco's delivery was seamless and very prompt.
I rescued a senior cat has IBS and hairball issues. He would also make a growling sound when he peed. After only 2 days on Science Diet Urinary Hairball wet food he's CURED! We tried expensive EN food from the vet, several different limited ingredient foods, homemade chicken and rice and had limited success. We had to try something else. Since trying Science Diet Urinary Hairball food Tiger has only thrown up twice in 3 weeks and those were hairballs only! (He used to throw up all his food) Tiger has increased energy, his fur has improved in texture and it feels thicker. Plus, he loves the taste. He is still on a mild laxative, CatLax and daily stomach acid suppressor but this food really saved our lives.
I used to feed this to my cats religiously. In the last 6 months, however, the quality of this food has plummeted & the price has shot up. At first I thought my cats were being picky, until I found an old can of their food from the back of the cabinet (before the quality/price changed) and to my surprise they loved it. In comparison with the more recent cans I’d purchased, the old one was fresh, smelled as good as cat food can smell, and had a nice pink color to it. The newer cans have stinky, grayish food. I will not be feeding my cats this slop again unless Hills Science Diet does something to control their quality.
Really works ! One of our male cats had daily hairballs. We started Science Diet Hairball Control and they stopped quickly. We couldn't get it for a while and again he had daily hairballs. As soon as we got a new supply from Petco, the hairballs stopped again. It is rare to so clearly see such effectiveness. Strongly recommended.
My 8 year old has had feline lower urinary tract disease since he was 3. This past summer he was diagnosed with CKD and I haven't been able to get him to consistently eat any one food. The KD dry food had his creatinine elevated earlier this month. He was also getting the KD stew, which he liked, but got turned off of and ultimately lost weight between blood work appointments. He had lower levels with Friskies wet food in August, so I decided to go back to it. With the store shelves bare 2 weeks ago, I decided to brink home the urinary/hairball wet food to try as well. The GA is more appropriate than Friskies, I think it's less rich, and he eats it right up. He's finally ALMOST eating full daily rations on it. I wish I had started this before the CKD diagnosis… we ... MoreMy 8 year old has had feline lower urinary tract disease since he was 3.
