We were told by Vet (USA) and Hills Feeding guide (Australia, as last week could not find USA), to work up towards 4 cans a day w/ each can being 5.5 oz. or 162 ML x 4 = 648ML to maintain a 40 lbs. or 18 kg. weight for our 16 year old female Siberian Huskey who has borderline or high Kidney Values, on/off anemia, on/off UTI and GI infections, after her most recent infection where she stopped eating for a week now after 3 weeks of reduced appetite 50% of normal diet. 648ml per day divided by 6 feedings is IMPOSSIBLE unless you have a feeding Syringe of 30ML or larger and feed 20 times a day! Am I missing something?

Miss Beef, my 14 year old kitty, has an oral tumor that makes it hard for her to eat. I needed a way to maximize calorie intake in a smaller amount of food, and this was perfect. The texture is smooth and soft, too. She also developed a bit of a sneeze after a vet visit, and she couldn't smell her food, so she stopped eating completely. And this food was smelly enough to get her to eat again as well. Her weight went from 8.1 to 8.5lbs in a little over a week. Worth the money, and slightly cheaper on Chewy than buying at the vet office.

I got 4 cans of this from our vet. My sickly cat loved it. Gobbled it up. The other two cats wanted it and would cry and try to get it. Since Anansi needs to put on weight, as does my old kitty, Boy, I decided to invest in a case. Since getting the case none of the cats will eat it. Not one bite. Today I ended up putting it out for the stray kitty that comes to the back door for food. She won't eat it either. What is wrong with this?! How did the exact food from the vet get my kitty to eat and the stuff we got from you can't even entice a hungry stray to eat it? I'm actually really mad about this. It was a pricy mistake and I probably won't get Rx from Chewy again.

I couldn’t get onto the tilted raised bowl page to rate. BUT you are sooo wonderful for having this. I have 20 year old cat. Lots of arthritis. Wow. Does he LOVE to eat now that he eats on a level. Our vet visit today had the vet marveling at how much better he looks. That raised tilted bowl with the tip resistant rubber on the pedestal is a true keeper. And the ad food is for the lymphoma cats I have and they are both thriving!!! Thank you for offering these great management items for animal lovers!!!!
These are the only treats that my cat can eat due to her severe skin allergies. We have not been able to get them for months now because they are out of stock. Our auto ship order has been canceled three times now (2 bags every 8 weeks). Hill's Science keeps posting a generic response on all of these reviews that they are working on the issue, but nothing has been done. They suggested a link to make your own treats out of the existing dry prescription food we have, but who really has time for that. If it's so easy to make then why aren't you doing it that way so you can replenish your supply? We had this issue last year too (2022) so it's been over a year since the "supply issues" have been happening, what is the problem? Now once they are back in stock (if that ... MoreThese are the only treats that my cat can eat due to her severe skin allergies. I have used the hills a/d with my rotties in the past as well with good results.
Long story short, my little princess Mimosa was sickly as a kitten and refused all cat food, wet and dry, cat treats, or anything that wasn’t her mama’s milk or KMR. I took her to the vet and we got no actual diagnosis, but she wasn’t doing well. I thought I may lose her. She has been on this food very long term (now 2 years) which isn’t the norm but she is thriving and happy. She still refuses any other food. In the beginning I had to syringe feed her and the consistency of this food made that very easy to do. I’m forever in HSD’s debt for making this food. Mimosa (MiMi) is my whole heart, so if it wasn’t for this food, my world would have crashed down around me. I have 6 rescues and she has been the most challenging to keep healthy but so worth every penny and every minute. The only complaint I have is price and smell (you get used to it and I think it’s partially what attracts sick cats to eat it). It becomes very expensive when a cat is dependent on this food alone, but I budget accordingly and make sure she has it. Def recommend for cats having appetite issues or are sick in general. Def try it if you’re on the fence about it… if it doesnt work for you, donate to a rescue or shelter. This food is always in need.
I have a cat recovering from dental surgery. Sadly one of her precious teeth had to be removed and vet said it was harder than expected. I have given my cat the food filling it in a syringe (without needle obviously) and holding it in front of her mouth and gently smearing a bit of it on her lips to stimulate her appetite. She would then lick it while I keep pushing the food through the syringe. Eating from bowl was just too hard. Even with pain killers I could see she was very upset on first and second day. I Bought the food following nurse recommendation who usually grooms my cats (not related to vet). Was desperate because she was not eating the second day after surgery (only small amounts) and vet's recommendation was not helpful (boiled shredded chicken, she ... MoreI have a cat recovering from dental surgery. Was desperate because she was not eating the second day after surgery (only small amounts) and vet's recommendation was not helpful (boiled shredded chicken, she did not even want to smell it). I must add that my cat is a rescue and was used to a dry food diet only when I took her home. She is still very challenging with food and would only accept raw food if I feed her per hand. After the operation she was terrified and on edge for 24 hours and it has been the most challenging time for me as a pet owner. Today she has eaten a total of 320 g of your special food and while still not a fan of wet food in general I can see she is finally becoming normal again. So a great thank you for developing this special food. In my opinion vet's advice for pet owners after surgery (in particular dental) should include more specific advice about professional and appropriate food for the animal (be that cat or dog)
My cat was having an issue with his liver, pancreas, and intestines. Every blood test we performed with our vet showed that his liver was getting worse, and every day I was fearful we were getting close to his time, with people even telling me there could be a possibility he had cancer. My doctor installed a feeding tube into my cat, and we fed my cat three 80ML syringes of this prescription food everyday for a month (and we are still feeding him this) at 3 meals a day, and what a huge difference that made. Giving this food to my cat has pretty much brought him back to life, and I do understand that he wasn't eating and his body was wasting away. After feeding my cat this wet food regularly, we went back to the vet and almost everything got better. So far every blood test since giving him this food has been getting better, and my cat has lots of energy and back to his normal self. They don't call this food urgent care for nothing, but it definitely helped my cat out and basically brought him back from the brink.
My young cat was prescribed a/d formula as she struggles gaining some healthy weight. She has been loving a/d food and most times cleans her plate. I even spoke to customer care the other day praising Hill's prescription diet and we spoke how happy we are that my baby is getting essential nourishment. Not sure why but this time the a/d 24 box shipment from Jul 21 and "Hill's Science Diet Adult Healthy Cuisine Roasted Chicken & Rice Medley Canned Cat Food, 2.8-oz, case of 24" from July 14th order turned out to be my cats least favorite, she smells the food and walks away. She had no appetite for food being served and survived on dry food only. I tried taking the food away for couple of days and reintroduced, with no success. I offered it to my other cat the one who loves eating and is hardly fussy, also took couple of nibbles and left the plate as is. I had to immediately order something new and ended up ordering wellness signature wet food. My baby started showing appetite. TBH i'm highly skeptical ordering it now.
