I have a 09 Silverado 1500 (202k miles) did an oil change and replaced the oil filter with this K&N filter and I’m telling you, I could tell a difference in my oil pressure and performance. The truck seemed a lot happier like it was getting more oil pushed through with the higher load RPMs now than before. I can’t express how happy I am with it, I’m never going back! K&N for the win yet again.

The oil filter is top notch for the DIY. The nut on the end makes installation and changing your oil quick and easy. K&N products may cost more however they are products you can rely on. You spend all that money on a vehicle why not protect your investment!!!!

If I could give it ZERO stars, I would. This review will be for the Ram 2500 with 6.4 HEMI. Before buying any items, I always read the reviews. When reading the reviews for this oil filter, some individuals reported that the oil filter would come loose.I was a little skeptical about this, so I went ahead and purchased it. About 6000 miles later, I was changing my oil. The date is 8/28/2020, sure enough, when I was getting ready to remove the oil filter, it was super loose.Luckily for me, the engine did not lose its oil. I want to assure you that, my oil filter was hand tighten.I have always changed my oil in all my vehicles, and I have never had this problem. This item was purchased from my local AutoZone. I will never use K&N filters!!!

This K&N filter is great. The welded on nut that’s on the top of the filter is super handy especially on my 2017 Ram 1500 Sport 5.7L with 4x4. The transaxle is very close to the oil filter and this built on nut makes an otherwise “wrench throwing oil change” a very quick job. This K&N filter is high quality too, and is priced basically around tge same as the MOPAR filter, or any other brand. So why not use this… again, the nut on the oil filter makes a world of difference. Easy removal, and I always hand tighten… plus just an ever so slightly little cinch with the wrench. Always done it like this with the old strap wrench too… over 40 years doing it and never any issues. After reading the dismay in here with this product, let me offer the following tips.Get tyre off the car, paint likes to flow. Gravity is your best friend.You must clean the tyre!! Acetone is good for the job.Get comfortable!! You will be colouring in. Actually a good job for kids with training.Prime the pen against a clean surface elsewhere.Super light strokes! Let the paint do the job, barely touch the tyre.I found short strokes across the letter in "J" or "C" pattern worked best, not along the letter.Don't try just one coat. The odd missed bit is okay on the first coat.Let the tyre paint dry a couple of hours. Prime the pen again and do a second coat, picking up missed bits.Let the tyre paint dry again. I have seen the reviews and the K&N is the best. I like to change my own oil and this filter is easiest to remove with a 1 inch socket. With the highest quality filtration, oil stays clear longer. The case is heavy and the innards are well made. You only have to cut one in half to see the difference, if you want to waste one, that is. With the K&N you could theoretically go longer between oil changes, although I do not like to do this. The K&N is expensive, but for a few dollars more, you have the best oil filtration, and combined with synthetic oil will help your engine to perform better and last longer.
I really like the quality of K&N products! This oil filter is easy to install/uninstall during oil changes! I feel like K&N gives me the protection I need! I use this exact filter for both of my vehicles. 13 Ram 1500 & 17 Dodge Journey
I always keep a close eye on my oil changes becuase it gives me a sense of know were my engine stands between good and bad. Aswell as what products work for me too. My engine been burning a quart of oil every 1k miles average no matter the brand of oil i use. I started using the K&N filter on 2 different instances and have seen and confirmed my engine burn 1 quart in 3k miles. My oil pressur r is staying at a good level and not dropping like it normally would. I check my oil level weekly and see that my oil is not darkening as quickly as it would when not using the K&N oil filter. Thats a definite logical explanation. The oil is lasting longer due to good oil filter filtering out dirt and contaminants that breakdown the lifespan of oil. With the TRD filter, being discontinued byToyota on some of their product line. Thisfilter, could be a possible replacement, forthose owners looking for an upgrade.
Bought it thinking it would be easy to use. I had used it for a lot of other things and it worked - on tyres -But it is USELESS!Total waste of money. I cleaned the tyre printing before using the pen - and as you have to push the tip back into the container to get the paint to flow - it blobs over everything!
