Ilford Multigrade FB Cooltone is designed for creative printers wanting cool image tones as well as clean crisp whites. This is a premium quality, variable contrast paper, coated onto 255g/m2 baryta coated fibre base. With its cool white base tint and cool image tone, prints made on Multigrade FB Cooltone deliver a finished print with a crisp, unique look thanks to rich blacks and well separated mid tones. It is versatile and easy to work with in the darkroom and responds in the same way as other Ilford fibre-based papers to the usual techniques of toning, chemical reduction and retouching techniques. According to Ilford, Multigrade FB Cooltone has a short induction time of 25 seconds. It is suitable for use in all types of darkroom enlargers. It will deliver full seven grades of contrast; 00 to 5, in half grade steps if a Multigrade filter is used. Most of the common used darkroom lights can be used. The glossy finish gives the fibre paper a smooth surface that will help to reveal the subtlest highlight details in cool, crisp whites whilst recording shadows in deep rich blacks. Multigrade FB also comes in neutral and warm tone variants.
