This headset is very good for gaming. I love the design and how well it looks. I love that it has a separate microphone, that can or can not be used, depending on our needs. It's also great to play all kinds of games on PlayStation, Nintendo Switch, as well as PC and Mac. I am glad we can use it everywhere depending on our mood. The model is very light and does not press a lot on the ears, so the head and ears do not get tired and do not hurt after wearing them. What I do miss here is the function of noise cancelling, this would be good to have. The battery life is long and I don't have to charge them for the whole day. The only minus is that if you want to listen to music simply from spotify or youtube it's better with other headphones, these work better with games ... MoreThis headset is very good for gaming. I bought this headset a little over a year ago, been loving it since day one, the sound quality and noise cancelling are amazing. Around 2 weeks ago my microphone stopped working, not a big deal I will just buy a new one and have it in a few days. NOPE, you cannot purchase this microphone anywhere, and none of the cheap off brand microphones on amazon are compatible with this headset. I tried to contact customer support about this to see if they would make it right, they claimed they would "get back to me", and that never happened. I have several JBL products in my house, my daughter and I both play with JBL gaming headsets, but after this I will not be purchasing through them anymore. Hope this review steers you in the right direction!

It is incredibly frustrating and it has no fix that i can find. It is not just a defect in my headset either because i found my best friend this headset and he has the same issue i do. The volume display on the JBL application will also display that the annoying volume knob that shifts game volume to chat volume will move by it's self down and back again periodically and it is not fun to have to deal with.Otherwise i would rate this headset at 5 stars without a doubt, but with these issues being so frustrating and not of my control i cannot rightfully give it 5 stars.

I've been using the JBL QuantumOne headset with minimal problems since March 2021. The last few months though the sounds will randomly cut completely for no known reason, and I would assume a the wire connection but they still glow and my mic will still be active. Very frustrating and it is only happening more and more frequently to the point they are no longer usable. Uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers for it only helps for an hour or two until it is back to cutting sound every 5 minutes. For the price should be lasting much longer and the year and a half they did considering a bought another headset at the time for my husband that is under $100 and they are still going strong with equal use to mine over the years. If they worked as well as they did 6 months ... MoreI've been using the JBL QuantumOne headset with minimal problems since March 2021. Great Features…but not so great for gaming console
5 July 2023

I was just about to pull the trigger on these when I thought I should check the JBL Website FIRST. GLAD I DID. I would've been extremely disappointed when they arrived and didn’t perform as advertised. All the wonderful features these have are specifically designed for a PC. So if you’re one of the vast majority of gamers who play on a machine specifically built for just that, you’re screwed. Your X-Box and PlayStation will leave you underwhelmed. SERIOUSLY UNDERWHELMED. Why aren’t you offering a comparable headset for gaming consoles? There’s far more people out in the either with consoles than with high dollar gaming computers. It’s all about that costs aspect. I don’t mind spending $300+ on an amazing headset, as opposed to $4000 on a gaming computer. I’m looking for headphones that track the position of my head, so the sounds will stay exactly where they belong regardless of my head’s position. Obviously that’s important, especially when using a virtual reality setup (which I’m also looking to purchase).I gave this four stars because my experience with JBL has been mostly positive. And if I was gaming with a computer, I believe that this product would fit the bill quite nicely. As I haven’t made a purchase of them, it would be unfair to judge them at less than the average number of stars others who have purchased them have rated them. The JBL headphones that I’ve previously purchased for music from my iPhone have been outstanding. Please make a very similar set with THX and ATMOS 7.1 surround sound as well as the ability to track the position of the user’s head in relation to the action being displayed on the screen. If you build them, then I’ll buy them. However, be quick about it because I’m continuing to shop. But I’m not going to just settle for anything…EXCEPT … my home’s 9.1.4 surround sound system.

Incredible on PC with USB, not on console with AUX

Regarding the JBL Quantum One:If you are planning to only use this on PC with the JBL Quantum software, this headset is incredible once you dial in your equalizers to your preferences. This headset has absolutely changed how I listen to music. Listening to the same songs in my car, or through other speakers, it doesn’t sound right. The clean audio from the headset allows me to pinpoint details in songs that I never noticed before. In some songs, you can tell the quality of their music producing tools based on the clarity of the music. The headphones really bring out the details. When lower quality content is played, it sticks out like a sore thumb due to how clear the headset is. That’s the fault of the content being played not the headset. In some songs, you can tell the quality of their music producing tools based on the clarity of the music. The headphones really bring out the details. When lower quality content is played, it sticks out like a sore thumb due to how clear the headset is. That’s the fault of the content being played not the headset. It’s a testament to how good the sound is on this headset. The sound is very clean and clear. I have not played anything that has had any distortion. The clarity EQ is closest to where I believe it should be, but I fine tuned it a little bit more to my own liking. For playing games, you will want to decrease the lower frequencies and increase the upper mid to high frequencies. It is a very good headset once you dial in your EQs, and it can handle about anything you can through at it.The surround sound on this headset is a little strange. The DTS surround sound makes it feel artificially bass-ey. With a little bit of echo. It’s not bad, but not as clean sounding. The JBL Quantum 360 surround sound is absolutely horrendous. I cannot tell that audio is coming from different directions accurately, and it adds a lot of echo making for a messy audio experience that makes it hard to focus on anything. It is best to leave off surround sound. For lower end headsets, DTS surround greatly improved them. But this headset is so good in stereo that the surround diminishes the clean crisp sound quality it would otherwise have. What I have said so far is regarding the USB connection. For AUX, it works. Audio does play through it, but the highs and mids are not very audible while the lows are overly loud to the point that they overpower what is important. The lighting is fun to use, if fits the gamer aesthetic very well, and it is highly customizable. However, you are limited to 10 seconds of animation for the headset. I wish it was 12 seconds so that I could have cleaner animated effects as the wave effects last for 3 seconds. Trying this on Xbox, I went back to my old $60 headset which sounds horrible for music, but does well in the mids and mid high frequencies with nearly no low frequencies. This headset I would avoid if you plan on using the AUX very often. With that said, if you want to use it on PC, it is incredible and I would definitely recommend.Another things to make note of is that the microphone is one of the cleanest sounding I have ever seen on a gaming headset! People in gamechat have actually been impressed without me even bringing it up!So the takeaway, if you want a noise canceling headset with high quality sound for PC, this is an excellent and worth the price tag! However on console with AUX, a $50 headset could sometimes beat this. But for USB, it is absolutely worth the $300 or even $150 Black Friday as I bought it.

Mediocre noise cancelling but the lights make it go fast

I bought this headset for the active noise cancelling. It's okay at it. Bose has MUCH better ANC, but this was less than half the price of the 700 series and I'm satisfied with the performance at that price point. It's enough to help reduce distractions and background noise while on calls. The form factor is a little bulky and a little heavier than you'll get from simpler headsets. The fact that the microphone doesn't swing up means that you have to put the thing down carefully (or detach the mic entirely). I do really like that the volume, ANC, and other controls are on-ear, especially the volume wheel. There's a dial built into the USB cable that's supposed to adjust between "gaming mode" and "chat mode." I find this silly, useless, and in the way. It seems to choose which applications to give a volume boost to, so if you bump it accidentally and it turns the wrong way you can suddenly lose audio. One of the selling points of this product is the "360" sound mode with head tracking. I don't even know how many video games support this. If you play competitive FPS games it might be an attractive feature for you, but otherwise the normal surround sound is perfectly fine. However, as we all know, the most important part of any gaming hardware is the RGB lighting. This headset has very granular lighting control. I could make it strobe rainbow in three different places if I wanted to. So if what you're after is The Look(tm), this is the product for you. Otherwise, it's just okay.

When it works, its great.

This headset sounds great and I love the software that comes with it. This has been my opinion of this headset for a long time until recently. Every 2 weeks, this headset refuses to have sound. It simply does not register as headphones on my computer and will not change from speaker to headphone when I try. The only way I can remedy this is to completely uninstall the software then reinstall. When this is happening often, it gets annoying very, very, very fast. This will be my last high end headset from JBL, for the price that this headset costs, especially when I bought it several years ago, I expect more from my products and a functioning firmware system. This does not cut it anymore

At least the sound quality was mid.
