Joseph Joseph Flex Toilet Brush (Grey)

The design of this Joseph Joseph smart toilet brush made me run to buy it. It does not occupy much space, the box fully covers the brush, and of course materials are excellent making this toilet brush a looker. However because they called this product *smart* I had high, or too high expectations. While this brush does, due to some miracle, washes toilet a bit better than cheaper analogues made of silicone the conventional bristle brush does a better job. Now I have three different toilet brushes, one for each toilet but I decided against buying two more Joseph Joseph smart toilet brushes. Mind you, I didn't get rid of this toilet brush as it is a great design, execution and everyone has silicone toilet brushes these days.

A low point for Joseph Joseph

Weak. The silicon bristles work only on the lightest of challenges, so light a typical flush will suffice. Hence, like many other reviews, this product is way below par even compared to a poundland plastic scrubber. So this should be discontinued. I really feel John Lewis should not sell it.

Elegant design, but totally useless

Beautiful design, useless product. I bought 3 very expensive sets from Howard’s Storage World a few years ago but eventually threw them all in the bin. The soft silicone bristles just slide over the porcelain surface of a toilet bowl without actually scrubbing effectively. It certainly reaches around corners, but it’s not doing anything.I bought another smaller version with the compact holder just a few days ago, deciding it must be me, and I’d give it another go, because the design is so elegant and I really wanted to love it. You know the old saying, you keep repeating the same mistake and expecting a different result? It’s still rubbish, and does not clean a toilet bowl. As the sales assistant at Bunnings asked, do you want one that looks good, or one that works?

Excellent loo brush..

I bought one of these to try it out and subsequently bought 2 more, replacing all the loo brushes in the house…I’m thrilled with them.. they clean off really well with the flush water and in fact don’t seem to hold debris in the first place. Their flexibility allows them to clean the corners and underneath of the S-bend and also under the rim where the water runs out. I’ve seen ad where they’re used to clean the loo seat and underneath as well.. I can imagine they’d do a good job but I feel too squeamish about using the same item to clean both inside and outside the toilet bowl to have tried it myself…highly recommended. Ah the first one I bought had the short holder, which is perfectly fine.. but the e second two have the tall fully enclosed holder and I prefer that.

Fantastic toilet brush

I was looking for a toilet brush that would not scratch my bowl and that would reach in all the hard to get places. My toilet has tight corners and my traditional brush never cleaned the corners. This brush looked impressive and looked like it would reach into the corners to remove the dirt I was unable to remove. It arrived quickly from Myer and I was super impressed. It’s easy to use cleans well in all those hard to reach sports and the corners are finally clean!! I’m thrilled. It comes out dry, with no more stinky toilet water gathering in the container! I’ve recommended to everyone I know. This brush is excellent and very flexible.

My purchase arrived in perfect order. The brush cleans the toilet to sparkling clean, gets into all the cervices, rinses clean afterwards under the running water. It looks smart and takes up very little room with its sculptured shape.

Stylistically I wouldn't have thought there was much scope for improvement in a loo brush and housing, but Joseph Joseph have succeeded with their flexible Silicone Toilet Brush.The blade housing Is made of a rigid white plastic which has a contrasting grey base, and this colour combination looks good. Despite being tall and slim the housing with blade inside is perfectly stable and the blade`s handle has a hand guard which sits snugly into the housing. The top of the handle makes a handy toilet roll holder! I particularly ] like the slim profile which enables it to stand tucked away at the side of the toilet bowl. The blade itself is made of flexible silicon and the short silicone bristles are easy to keep clean. Water runs off the silicon so there are no drips when returning it to the holder.The blade`s metal handle allows more vigorous cleaning than a plastic one would butfrom a cleaning point of view, I didn't find it much different to a conventional toilet brush. The blade requires more of a scraping action rather than a brushing one which initially feels awkward. The flat blade does go slightly round the toilet bend but not enough to be considered a feature and it was not possible to clean this area completely. Being flat it fits nicely under the toilet rim and I think this was definitely better than a conventional brush. I feel this brush will have a longer lifetime than a normal brush when it reaches a grotty state.If you like the Joseph Joseph style this brush is as good a buy as a conventional one.

Really disappointing

Excited about this purchase but sadly does not meet Joseph Josephs usual functionality.It is overegged and overpriced.The concept seems great but the reality is a million miles away.Brush is too soft to clean anything other than fresh stains (if you have children this becomes very apparent)The rim cleaning bit again sound great but is so awkward to use.The metal stem rustedHow do you clean the detritus that accumulates in the bristles, unlike cheaper more functional brushes that you throw away. I do not want to be touching this!Really disappointed and now it resides as a dust collecting non functioning ornament and no longer pretty either as rusted and dirty, I should throw it away really.

Useless loo Brush

This is a stylish brush which looks good but is absolutely useless as a loo brush. The bristles are too hard to get underneath the rim and if you flex it to clean the U bend it scratches the ceramic. Now the plastic handle has cracked. Considering the price of this item, it was an utter waste of money. I certainly wouldn't buy another!
