I must admit I agonised about this purchase. I mean, what can it do that I can't by hand? The answer is (of course) nothing, but it does so many things far faster, more thoroughly, and with far less effort than I can by hand. Thus it makes me a far better baker than I was.It has also inspired me to make things I wouldn't have considered in the past - the pasta making accessories are now top of my wants list. So: It's very pretty and it's also very effective. It's also in use at least twice a week. Incidentally we got a superb deal on it thanks to very sound advice from staff at Lakeland.

I bought my very 1st Kitchen Aid stand mixer a few days ago and it is absolutely brilliant, it arrived with the basic main attachments included which are easy to remove and swap, it can also make a good variety of food with attachments that you can purchase separately. As of yet I have mixed home made pizza dough which turned out perfect in the kitchen aid, mixed beautifully with no excess left on bottom of the bowl. Protein bars, flapjacks and cupcakes ingredients were also mixed in the kitchen aid & I will be using it later to mix ingredients for a birthday cake, it’s amazing Solid structure, sturdy base, quite heavy to be transporting so mine has its own spot on the kitchen counter.I absolutely adore mine & do not know how I managed without one. I would highly recommend this product.

The mixer looks great, and with a Kitchen aid, that's an important consideration! Mine is pale pink, can't recall the actual name. In any case, I've used the mixer nearly daily. I make bread, croissants, cakes, meringue, whipped cream, marshmallows - the works. Maybe I expected too much from a machine, but in all seriousness, it doesn't really do anything my handheld Kenwood £20 mixer didn't do - apart from kneading brioche and croissant doughs that are silky and elastic from beautiful gluten strands.Things I like:Colour, looksKneads doughs so I have my hands freeKneads long and strong enoughThings I'm not so sure about:Sometimes whisk/scraper doesn't reach the bottom (I've adjusted the screw but then it started hitting the bottom and sides)Additional bowls ... MoreThe mixer looks great, and with a Kitchen aid, that's an important consideration! I'm in a happy situation where our kitchen counter can be seen from the front door, so everyone including the postman can see the KA. I like using it but sometimes I think maybe it would be less hassle just to get the Kenwood out or knead by hand.

Fabulous colour that really brings the kitchen to life. The machine is extremely quiet (when compared to my previous well known branded stand mixer) and mixes everything to perfection, already made New York cookies, coconut sponge and baked lemon cheesecake, which all went down a storm at work. The attachments wash up well and the splash guard saves ingredients flying around your kitchen, the additional bowl and attachments come in handy when making different components of your bake. Waited a long time for my Kitchenaid but it’s been worth the wait. Love it and painted a feature wall the same colour.
Having seen this used on the GBBO,breaking my very old mixer and all the hype around this machine it was a gift I asked for. However although it does appear to be a very good mixer there are a few things I dislike.1. The beater does not get all the ingredients from the slide or bottom of the bowl. This means lots of stopping and manually scraping (note I do have the scraper attachment)2. The instruction booklet that came with it is super thick, but that is due to the many languages. The guidance in it however in how to use the mixture and maybe ideas is painfully poor… maybe 1 page.3. The free gift I was offered with it was one of the reason I purchased this particular one, however the gift is a completely different colour. Very disappointing when you want the ... MoreHaving seen this used on the GBBO,breaking my very old mixer and all the hype around this machine it was a gift I asked for. This was purchased for me as a Christmas present.I chose this mixer for its ease of use, stylish design. I would not be producing Nigella worthy cuisine, it does what I need it to do.I also chose the colour as it fits perfectly in my kitchen matching the cabinets.Good accessories and although I have not owned a mixer before I was able to set up and use immediately.I purchased a glide mat for underneath from Amazon which helps when moving the mixer across worktops as it is quite weightyWould definitely recommend.
What’s not to like? The best mixer in the world in pink! I had a white heavy duty Kitchenaid mixer in the past when I had a cake business but had to let the mixer go with the business when I sold it. I didn’t bake for a while but recently have been hankering for it again. My obvious choice for a mixer was a Kitchenaid as my previous machine was an absolute workhorse. As it’s my 50th birthday treat to myself I wanted to choose a mixer which will last me forever. I made no deliberation at all over the colour. The rose pink is perfect. It arrived and is a thing of beauty. I’ve kept it on the worktop because I like looking at it. But I’ve used it lots too. I love the tilt head as my previous was a drop down bowl. I find this more convenient. A new addition since my last ... MoreWhat’s not to like? The best mixer in the world in pink! I find this more convenient. A new addition since my last mixer is the paddle with rubber blade which is genius. The different speeds make the mixer so versatile. Slow and steady when you need it, but super fast and snappy when you want that buttercream fluffy. I’m looking at additional tools now which I never had before, to make the most of this wonderful machine. So happy with my purchase as I expected I would be. I have called her Kitty.
Logistics from Harts were excellent. The product and accessories are exactly as described on the website. I have had a major issue however which is a major disappointment. The main mixing bowl which comes ready assembled on its stand base was completely immovable. It was as if superglued to the base plate. I researched this issue and various sources said this is a known problem and suggested three remedies.1) Soak a towel in boiling water, wrap it around the base of the bowl and leave for ten minutes. It should then come loose. If this fails, then repeat!2) Apply mineral oil around the base.3) Wrap the bowl in a towel an hit it gently with a mallet!I managed to dislodge my bowl after the second 10 minute soaking. Excellent food mixer. Very good for mixing both heavy dough and light cake mixes. Solid, well built and saves so much hassle. Wish we had bought one years ago!We nearly went for the cheaper option in Lake Land (NOT exactly cheap, but substantially cheaper), but when you look and feel the two, side by side, the extra is well worth it. The range of accessories which can simply be locked in and driven off the mixer itself, puts it in a different league to most of the competition. The two mixing bowls which come as standard are a God-send too - One batch of bread dough mixed and away to prove, while a cake mix is on the go in a second bowl - Brilliant! It is so very easy to clean, as are the attachments with no nooks and crannies to make things difficult. All we ... MoreExcellent food mixer. Superb. I have wanted one of these for years and years. Now I have one I can honestly say it does not dissapoint.I love the weight of it and the definate clicks of the speed switch. The whole orbital action is brilliant,it mixes with ease. I have used it several times for making bread dough ,with no worries about it being too much for the mixer to handle.I would say to the people who say it doesn't get to the bottom of the bowl,it does ,however I find it depends what you are whipping.Egg whites need to be spatula'd up half way though to ensure nothing is left. This is hardly an issue though and something I would normally do with my old machine( not a kitchen aid !)
