I’m an electrician and had to replace my old pair of Channellocks that walked off a job site. I fell in love with Knipex years ago and figured I would get a quality product from them no matter what, so I had no problem paying a few bucks more for their equivalent. What I didn’t know is how much more I would love them. Once you set it to the size you want, there they stay!!! I thought I liked my old Channellocks but now look back on them with disdain when I think about how much time I’ve wasted over the years fiddling with their tongue and groove always slipping out of position. I couldn’t recommend these more — they’re incredible!

I have been a mechanic of sorts for most of my adult life. Over thebyears I have discovered the value of well made tools. Most of the time they can be overpriced and some people feeld that way about knipex. You will find that even though these are about 2 to 3 times the cost of your average pair of channel locks, they will out perform any set of adjustable wrenches at any price. Their are some copycat products out there that are not too bad, but in direct one on one comparison they still can't be beat. They are low profile and the button does not stick out so far that you get a accidental release like you may with a copycat like Milwaukee or Irwin. Spend the extra money engrave your name and never ever buy another pair.

After switching over a handful of tools already, I am extremely happy with the quality and workmanship put into their tools. I'm in the HVAC trade, at first glance it seamed like it would be too small but I threw in my Veto TP4 anyway. These little pliers ended up being the right size and can accomplish most tasks that I need them to. If I'm doing an install they're perfect for working inside disconnects and the condenser. I find that I grab them at least once or twice a day, I love the comfort grip handles, they feel right in my hands. I also love the bright colors, because it's easy to spot if you set them down. They don't take up much room in my bag, they're light weight and just fantastic pliers. The design and size of the pliers allows it to operate in small areas. I love these little guys and wouldn't hesitate to purchase another pair.
Its been over a year now and these 6'' Knipex plyers are still going strong. These may look like a toy but are anything but. Yes they are expensive but all hard working built well last forever tools are. I have a serious grip and brake tools often and I am unable to brake these plyers which is awesome. I carry these and the Knipex 6'' plyer wrench in my EDC bags because they are some of the best emergency tools you could have on you. Gas and water valves can be turned on or off, nuts bolts and even screws can be loosened with these two tools. I added the 8'' bolt cutters as well to my kit and they are impressive! I recommend any Knipex tool because I have 20 old tools from them that are still going. Money well spent!
This is a case of you get what you pay for. Check out the Project Farm review on YouTube for Best Tongue & Groove Pliers (vs 15 other brands, several you'll probably recognize) and you'll see the Knipex come out on top of a battery of tests that are probably way more hardcore than most people are ever going to be using these pliers for. I don't get nearly as much use out of these as I wish I did, but they work so good I try to use them instead of other more task-sensible pliers when possible because they're better than my other types of pliers.
This is actually the 2nd time I purchased these KNIPEX Heavy Duty Forged Steel 10 in. Cobra Pliers because my husband lost his 1st ones. He was so bummed out but kept putting off getting another hoping the other one would still show back up. So for Father's Day we surprised him with a new pair and he was elated. I swear I thought he was going to cry. Like he was reunited with a long lost friend. :)=) He swears by KNIPEX brand pliers and uses them for appliance repairs, installations, etc... He has used KNIPEX for about five years now and won't go back to another brand. His absolute favorite!

The red and blue handles stand out which is good for visual conformation in my tool bag. I surely wont be lending these out to anyone either. I truly treasure all my Knipex pliers. 10 inch Cobra Pliers. Made in Germany by Knipex. Most of the information on the package concerns safety and the use of a tether to prevent you from dropping the tool to the floor or on someone below you. I couldn't find the appropriate tether on the Home Depot site but more information is available at WWW.KNIPEX-TOOLS.COM. Look under "products" "tethered pliers". Can be used for round stock up to 2 inches and 1 3/4 inch hex stock. More adjustment positions than the usual channel type pliers but takes a little trial & error to get the right opening. You also need to push a button to adjust the opening but it stays where you set it. Nice rubber like coating on the handles and hardened teeth.
