La Roche Posay Cicaplast B5 Gel 40 ml

The Cicaplast gel is an alternative to the original Cicaplast Baume. As much as I wanted to love it I prefer the original one for healing skin. I have combination skin but I’m able to use the original Cicaplast Baume without any clogging. The Cicaplast gel doesn’t feel healing enough for me . It absorbs into the skin but I don’t see a rapid repair in skin like I do with the original Baume which is more protective of the skin. As usual this product is unscented and I’m grateful for that aspect as there is no place for fragrance in skincare for irritated skin.

Little back story of why I bought this; so I mixed several strong serum type acids on my face and my skin started peeling 😱 so I began the process of repairing my skin barrier … lots of hydration!!! I researched some products to help repair this .. and this brand popped up and I was looking at this product and it was fairly cheap so I gave it a go … it almost feels like the vitamin E cream I once used on my tattoos back in the day .. but on the flip side was it’s not as greasy and does absorb in … now when I first started using it I thought okay this is great and really helping to repair the damage I created to my skin … but am I going to be able to use this under my makeup? And the answer is YES! Very disappointed in this product! I bought this because I read that it would help with the recovery of the skin and with scars. I have some acne scars and red spots on my face and was hoping this product would help recover that. I used this in the morning and in the night but my skin got extremely oily from it. I had to stop using it after 5 days because my pores got so clogged it created a lot of acne on my nose and chin. So if you already have a somewhat oily skin, I would definitely not recommend it. However, for dry skin it maybe helpful. I didn’t see any change in recovery of my skin when using it but maybe I didn’t use it long enough to actually see a difference.

After the gel, the skin is nourished. For the first time I meet a GEL that nourishes. Usually, I don't buy gel textures for my dry skin. They moisturize and that's it. And for dry skin, you need nutrition, which the gel copes well with. When I apply it at night, then in the morning, when washing, it is washed off without feeling a slippery film, which makes me very happy. As if nothing had been applied since the evening. Everything is absorbed. And after strong peels, it really soothes irritated skin very well. Relieves inflammation. Helps the skin to recover

Acne safe alternative to the baume

I have oily, acne-prone skin and large pores/redness in my T zone. I recently eliminated all comedogenic products from my routine, after a few hormonal breakouts on top of those under-the-skin bumps which never seem to go away. Unfortunately, this also included the cicaplast baume, as it contains shea butter which can be pore-clogging because of its texture. This gel is a non-comedogenic alternative that has been amazing at soothing my skin when it feels irritated. I have not had a breakout since starting this routine, and my redness is decreased. Even my makeup looks better because my skin is so much smoother. I would 100% recommend it if you have sensitive or acne-prone skin!

Amazing

This saved my face following a bad case of skin sensitivity to too intense treatments with retinol and glycolic acid treatments. Within hours my skin stopped hurting, next day it already looked like it was healing instead of red, painful, peeling patches all over the face. It also helped heal a case of perioral dermatitis within 2.5 weeks (something I normally only could get to results with use of antibiotics as no other treatments, where results would appear after 2 weeks / no treatments, leaving the skin alone, where the condition would persist and sometimes even get worse without any external stimulation, persisting for months). Will never be without this.

Excelkent

I first purchased this soothing balm from Beauty Expert 5 years ago. It was recommended by my health food shop “Ganesha” as being the best product to use on my scar from my hip operation. And it was! I have no visible scarring now. It was soothing and did not irritate my damaged skin. It has more than doubled in price in the past 5 years, but it is such a good product that I will happily pay the extra.

HOLY GRAIL

This popped up on social media and a few times and I’m always looking for a good moisturizer so I bought it on a whim. I have dry skin and I’ve never really committed to any one moisturizer before but this is a true holy grail product.Living in Canada I am prone to persistent dry, flakey patches in the winter. I find lot of heavy duty moisturizers feel too thick and greasy on the skin but this is amazing. It’s definitely heavier than an average moisturizer but it’s not thick like your normal “baumes”. I love to use it when my skin needs some TLC - after being out in the sun, if I’m sensitized from a product etc.I’ve had extremely rough, dry hands for years and NOTHING has ever helped however I used this on my knuckles and it fixed them in one application. I am so excited to continue trying products from this line and I can’t recommend this and the hand cream enough! I agree with other customers and wish that the B5 baume was available in a larger tube.

Have spent the last months watching recommendations by influencers about good and affordable skin care products and this is the one EVERYONE who has a perfect skin owns.It is a life saver!Just need to pay attention what you mix it with- I used it with retinol, moisturizer and day cream with urea and when i applied foundation my skin started peeling off. I'm not an expert so I can't say if it was the mix of products that didn't work out or if the foundation didn't fit with them but it's worth checking that out

Perfect!

The title says it all! This is perfect for my sensitive skin and feels fresh and light but at the same time enough for my skin. I don’t get along with the cream version of the baume - I can’t get it to rub in enough and it feels greasy rather than glowy like this one. Doesn’t sting like many moisturisers do and a little goes a long way. May be a little too much for oily skins but I still think it’s worth a go! Love it and hope it’s never discontinued!
