I purchased one of these new a few months ago and really like the size and image quality. I decided to add a second, but the price had increased significantly so I opted for buying an open box “excellent” unit instead of new. I often buy open box from Best Buy and had never had a bad experience until now. The monitor was not packaged anywhere close to excellent or even good quality, and hardware necessary for setting up on the stand was missing. I contacted Best Buy to ask about getting just the hardware, or a discount since the unit I was shipped only met open box fair quality (per the description), but I paid for excellent. Even though Best Buy refused to send the hardware or discount for the incorrect quality rating I tried to buy hardware to set up the monitor rather than returning it. But once I took it out of the box and started setting it up, I realized that there are parts rattling around loose inside the monitor housing, so I packaged it back up and sent it all back. A cheaper open box from another retailer arrived in like-new condition in the original packaging with all the components the next day. Definitely will not be paying for for lower quality open box from Best Buy in the future, especially considering how awful the support experience was!

I got this monitor to replace the laptop and 24inch "dual screen" set up that i had going on in my office. I work remote about 60% of the time, and I am constantly using outlook, excel, PDF tools, and a browser, while playing some sort of media. Screen functionality is very easy, and I can now mount my laptop away and give a clean workspace. Set up was easy, and was fully compatible with the desk mount i purchased, I will say the monitor acts like it has some sort of sound functionally in it's software, but there are no physical speakers. Picture quality is great, with some good customization available. I did run some 4k Video and it was clear, with decent motion. The LG 24BK550Y 23.8 Full HD IPS Monitor is a great looking screen with some very nice features. First of the way access the screen menu is done by a single little joystick under the screen which you move about and push in to select this makes it so much easier than a row of buttons you blindly hit and get frustrated at when you press the wrong one and it takes you out the settings you were trying to adjust. The ability to change the height on the stand so quickly and effortlessly is a real plus and you would think it would start to sag but it stays constantly at the level you set it at without need of pressing any buttons and fighting with it to go where you want it. The screen on the stand feels stable and well designed. The frame around the screen is slim and looks very sleek giving off a very professional look which looks great in my home office. The speakers are not the best even at max volume due to positioning they are not that loud, but I never use the inbuilt speakers on screens, so this is something does not really worry me at all. I have been using the screen mainly for document use over the last week I have been doing reports for work and I find the screen very well suited for this I have also watched videos and streams again finding the images sharp thanks to the IPS screen. The ways you can connect to the screen are great with three different connectors HDMI, USB C and display port, I stick to the simple HDMI port which gave me no problems at all. The screen being 23.8inch is a great size for a office use or even someone who is working from home and needs a screen what can do it all. Another great product LG!
